Here at Pokefam we are building a community of people that have a passion for Pokémon Cards it doesn't matter if you have been collecting since 1999 or getting back into it like me or are brand new. We will go over topics like how to make money to build your collection, how to collect on a budget, how to take care of your cards and seeing what products are worth the value you pay and much more. So if any of that interests you please hit the subscribe button it would mean a lot to me and come join the PokeFam.
True I would definitely recommend that lol but if you like to rip packs cheaper or if you are trying to master set but don’t want to buy a ton of packs or pay for a time of shipping then sometimes bulk is the way to go
I'm glad this came across my feed, even if I might not actually run out and buy cards again lol. I believe someone else mentioned 1999 which is probably when I bought cards last too hahaha. Keep it up man, I believe in you!
The 90s were a great time to be a kid, maybe you aren’t collecting now but you never know Pokémon has its ways to bring you back in lol I’m glad you enjoyed the video 😊
Thank you for this video. I know it took a lot of effort and although it doesn't currently have a lot of views, it is exactly the video I needed since i started buying cards again since i stopped in 1999. I appreciate it!
Glad it was helpful! That’s what I’m here for I don’t care if I get a million views (of course that would be nice lol) I just want to help anyone that wants to hear it
I mean I guess, I tried it with one of my lights I put the label right up against the light and it made it easier to see the smal PSA holograms but you can still see them without the light.
With all do respect perhaps a little more "research" should be done before this video. You have to keep into account a lot more things such as supply and demand and the fact that they are a business. You mentioned you would offer atleast 50%. I have seen so many vids/scenarios where Gamestop has offered 70/80% (a value most vendors offer) with occasional lowballs and low percents. The reason is that a lot of cards really dont have a crazy high demand and would be sitting there never to be sold so they offer low. Yea, maybe its a rare pull but if no one cares for it, why buy near its price? Like his "holy grail" starmie. Bro maybe I have only met one other person ever to actually be interested in that card. Collecting and grading is great man, i love it too, but supply and demand is its own ball game. Also i love people saying shit like "scammed by Gamestop during my tradein / sale." You have to remember that Gamestop atleast OFFERS you a price and is at a fixed location. If not, enjoy spending months trying to sell your product online or to a vendor. Convenience you know. I would never expect to hit jackpot with Gamestop but atleast theyll always offer at a rate that makes sense in their business model. The whole thing is fresh, perhaps they are still messing around with stuff.
I get what your saying and I understand it’s a business and obviously you expect lowball but my biggest thing is the extremely low ball 30% on some cards I get it but to offer some 2% of the value I view that as a slap in the face and the reason I said I would do 50% minimum is to bring those people back yeah maybe I take a loss but if they come back with good cards I can still get a fair price to buy as a business owner I’m willing to take the loss on a couple cards to be able to get those big name cards but that’s just me coming from like 20 years of customer service but I agree with a lot of your points thank you for the feedback
I appreciate the feedback however if you watch any of my content you would understand that I focus on collecting on a budget and ripping packs does not match budget collecting. Don’t get me wrong ripping packs is fun and I do it but it’s not my channels focus right now
Thanks, I use the 151 binder for my trading binder, I use my vault x 2 by 2 binder for generation 1, and I think I use a couple more I can’t remember lol, love this video, hope u get loads of subscribers on RU-vid! 😊
That’s why I switched it up on the channel you don’t see anyone talking about how to afford these cards just showing you the final product. Not always showing the realistic side. Thanks for the comment 😀
@@James8Frogs lucky I had to quit ripping I did like 3 booster boxes and 3 etbs and a bunch of sleeves packs and still didn’t pull the SIR so I just bought it lol
Well considered vid with useful info... thanks! And one resource I didn't hear you mention was Discord! I'm in a few of the PokeTuber's Discord groups and there is lots of great info there, too.
@@PokeFamCollectors It depends on how they approach it. Gamestop as a video game company was known for jacking up prices of reused video games. But I don't think they will have the selection you could get from a Mom-Pop hobby store, the nice glass counters showing you some rare cards, or really knowing how to price things in the card economy. It depends on how they run things as a business. Though Gamestop is a franchise so their may be many levels of variation on how people run their stores. I don't think it'll out compete a local hobby store. They'll most likely have a lot more bulk or older product at higher prices. If I was to speculate. It'll be good overall for them and for areas that were affected by Covid since a lot of hobby stores unfortunately shut down for good. :(
