life saver. been dealing with this annoying pop up for so long anytime i opened anything connected to the internet it seemed like there was a 30% chance of it popping up. thanks
I purchased a 2007 Toyota RAV4 limited 4x4 in early October of 2023. After I had it for a week or so, I realized I had a shudder when going over certain specific road areas. I had some work down on it less than 10 days after purchasing it. When they test drove it it didn’t do the rattling sound, so this was not addressed. I started researching and thought it may be my torque converter. I finally had the mechanic at NTB test drive it again and it did it this time. I have only driven it about 1400 miles so far. I don’t keep how long this was happening before I purchased it. The mechanic said it was the torque converter and that it would be best to replace the transmission because it could be damaged. It has about 181500 miles on it I believe. It also burns oil, which the seller did tell me. I add a little oil after every gas fill. I am wondering what is the best thing to do to fix the torque converter issues. The mechanic said he is quitting his job and going somewhere else, although they can’t do that kind of work there anyway. He said he would try to find some place he could do the work or someone he trusts to do it for me. My brother has a friend who has his own shop, but isn’t very reliable for doing repairs for me. I have a hard time getting him to commit the doing work. I purchased this because my car kept having issues and I was afraid even though it only has 70k miles it may not last. I am a single disabled mother of an 18 year old autistic son who can’t work. So I need someone trustworthy to do things for me since I have limited resources. My brother contacted me yesterday and suggested the following options, I wonder what you would recommend? My brother talked to his friend he found a transmission with 78k miles and it’s 1650$ he will change it and everything for 2500 including transmission. Or he can change your torque converter for 1000$ and change fluid in your transmission he does a lot of transmissions and hardly has any problems sis I’d go for converter because it hasn’t been making noise long enough to hurt transmission. I asked him Will he be able to tell if the torque converter is ok on it before it gets put in? He said He could change the converter on the 78k one before it’s installed for 200$ more dollars What would you suggest, and are these fair prices? My other car is not drivable right now, the clutch sticks to the floor and I have not been able to get his friend to fix it yet. This happened on Christmas Eve, so 6 1/2 months. I appreciate any advice. Thanks so much

Hey there. It kinds of amaze you finding this task easy while it's like a major one fo me...I guess it just goes to show the skill gap between us... Good for you! You mentioned you replaced the engine on your Rav4 recently. Did you remove it from the top...If so, besides the stiffener on the passenger side, Did you remove anything else from underneath the car? I'm working on removing the engine on my 2001 AWD Rav4 ...I ain't finding it easy either...But will accomplish the task as I need this ride to get to places....
Hi! Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial. While I was changing the broken peace, I lost the larger spring to seal all the pieces together. Anyway I can replace that piece? Is it critical? Thank you very much!
Hello, got a related question about the intake manifold but on a 06 RAV4 2.4L and the lower O2 sensor wires. They go from that sensor into a harness that runs between the intake and engine block. I have a break in one wire from that sensor and running a bypass to the ECM doesn't work since a bunch of different check engine lights go on and the steering wheel is hard to turn, etc. So I think I need to get at the harness covered by the intake. Since you removed the intake, did you notice how the harness was attached. Maybe there is a way to get the harness out without taking off the intake manifold. Thanks for any help.
Berrymans B12 piston soak procedure before every oil change, 5$.. Run 5w-30. It works, blow by measured with oil amount from oil catch can in line on the pcv hose. My oil consumption drops every slightly every oil change. Also sooner intervals due to higher oil degradation. Cheaper and easier than a swap. Who cares if you still use a little oil it's an older car and beats a car payment.
I like the plastic "rivets" idea. Thanks for the video man! 1 quick question. Did you have to enlarge the holes to put the plastic"rivets" in? Cheers! 🖖🍻
Good work and great link for the parts needed. Funny how it's really, really difficult to find the actual parts to fix the lock (at a sensible price) when you add Porsche into the search! Saved me a fortune. BTW in the UK the ebay search term would be similar to this at £9.74 (2024 price) - FRONT DOOR LOCK CYLINDER REPAIR KIT LEFT or RIGHT FOR VW POLO 6N (1994-2001) but I also found it at £2.99.
