I just finished playing Jules/Ondine in a community theater in Indiana. Thank you to the creators of BTL and Mx. Rivera for pioneering a place for young trans, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming people in musical theatre. If any of you see this, I hope you all understand how much this incredible show is helping to open the hearts and minds of local theatre communities. ❤️ 🏳️⚧️ ❤️ 🏳️⚧️
Ofcourse the wizard and i part at the end is the most replayed fast forwarded spot😂 i feel like i find myself going to the least ones to atleast hear the build up
Ariel Jacobs has an incredible voice. Also I wrote this as a comment somewhere else as well, but I feel like it would be so interesting to see, say, Mark Lester react to her singing this. He’s the dude that plays Oliver in the musical movie for those who don’t know.
The thing I really like about spinstress is she’s also an amalgamation of Disney princesses those being tiana from princess and the frog, Cinderella, and rapenzul from tangled (Webster is obviously meant to be pascal)
Also Jasmine because she's in the marketplace pretending to be a commoner. In fact her constantly mentioning that she's a commoner is most likely a riff specifically on Jasmine. Also the part where she pays the merchant was likely a reference to when Jasmine got into trouble with a merchant because her money was at the palace and Aladdin had to schmooze and scam him so they could get away.
Petra and her world would be a delight to visit and see come to animated life in Beyond the Spider-Verse and be able to not only have Arielle reprise the role for it, but also get to sing a new musical number exclusive to the movie!!
This song is really inspiring to me right now because my family only saw me as a joke and I thought I had change who I was just to be good enough for them and for them to see me as my own person and respect me but I just said screw it and showed myself to them in plain daylight
