Hey Edgar, This is Casey with Service 1st Property Clean. I've spent minutes with you on the phone and I really appreciate it!!! You spending time with me and breaking off some of your knowledge has helped a lot. Thank you! I'll be in touch this week about the projects we discussed. Keep killing it brother.
Hi Edgar. I’m Judy Turner pictured in this video. I’ve been trying to reach you by phone to find a good date for solar cleaning. The last two openings you had did not work for us. I’d love to be sure I’m in touch with you personally and I thought your name was different. ?? Hopefully you still have my contact info. Please give me a call, email or text. Thanks.
you need to clean your panel monthly for best efficiency. but every 3 months is acceptable too. its Important not to wait a year or more because of heat build up/ lack of efficiency can cause premature ware of solar cells i think?
Question: recommended startup cost for 1 person business? I already have a van and a water fed pole brush. I also have a gas generator and a ladder. I want to specialize in panel cleaning and instillation
The solar panel company wouldn’t want to support the longevity of a panel! Then he also contradicts him self with saying the use of chemicals will leave a film that will ruin production
Love the video brother. I have a question when the man agreed to get his panels cleaned did you ask for a deposit. Did you have him fill any paperwork or do you just take their word and show up
Hi, thank you for the details. What motor are you using on the pressure washer? What pressure do you set it on when cleaning solar panels? Many thanks from South Africa
You should be careful with purple piping especially in the San Jose area… that could also be “recycled water” meaning very hard and less clean water source.
Yo I’m thinking about starting a cleaning business in my area in SoCal. I know where to start but where do you get the bird proofing mesh for Spanish tiles
Carry some aluminum flashing with you. If you break a tile you move the broken one down by the gutter over the eve so if it does leak it doesn’t leak inside the house. Plus it’s right on the gutter and easy for the customer or handyman to change when they buy a replacment. Tip, If the tile is shattered, you will never glue it together up on the roof. But if you carry some ultra quick drying liquid nails and glue it together on the ground you can get it near perfect. Just be careful not to pick it up until it’s fully dry. But otherwise just cover it with your flashing. Providing you tell the customer this is your plan in case it happens before you start the job, they are almost always ok with you leaving it like that for them to fix. I’ve had only a few customers in about a thousand that insisted I go and buy replacements myself as it was my fault. When you speak to the customer to book the job in, inform them that you will require them to have a few spare tiles for you on the day just in case.
If it’s those thin metal roof that sort of look like imitation tiles with a grainy coating, steer clear. If it’s the one I’m thinking of, the coating is full of asbestos and they dent way too easy. You’ll finish for the day and end up having to pay the customer.
It likely wouldn’t shock you if you touched it in this case but still a bad idea to have non electricians spraying water on and touching live high voltage dc systems. There are so many things that could be dangerous and you just wouldn’t know. Instead you’d cover it up with bird netting And spray water all over it. A bad pigeon infestation should not be cleaned and covered up without an experienced solar electrician doing a complete safety check first. The animals can chew through cables and make nests on top of junction boxes Ect Ect. All things that could kill a man or burn down his house. These systems can be up to 1500v dc on commercial jobs. Please use more than that volt stick or call an installer. They may just be a cable sitting behind the frame in this case which is normal but you never know.
Man that is the worst! The stubborn stupid rats will walk toward you when you’re trying to scare them out the hole. I’ve spent 20 minutes trying to get one out before. He was in the middle of a row of 12 panels 😂. Nearly gave up and let nature take him out but I extended my water pole all the way and gave him a wack and he finally left.
Man ya’lls prices are cheeeeeap over there. I’m charging $20-$30 per panel here in Sydney. Sometimes $15 if I’m doing the gutters or bird proofing too but wouldn’t dream of charging $5 per panel. That’s not enough. It often costs me $30 in fuel and another $30 in road tolls just to get to the job. $250 minimum. And I’m not expensive here either. I got a quote on my system out of interest from a larger company advertised on google. I have 8 panels on my roof with a thin layer of dirt, they quoted $800! 20 minute job max.
