Hello, my name is Carol. I created this channel to share places I visit, my travels and also bucket lists. Join me to see the world Please subscribe and like my videos to support the channel. Thank you.
Hi Carol, Me and my friend stayed here for 1 night in early September after visiting Hull on a shopping Trip. I thought it was wonderful. Twin room on the Top floor. Staff made us very welcome, nice breakfast.Would stay again at the Holiday Inn Express.
Hi June, I'm Glad you had a good experience. I enjoyed my stay in this hotel too but what stood out the most was the excellent location. Thank you for your comment
I was born in dewsbury .back in the 70s and 80s dewsbury was a thriving town now it is a ghost town no investment not a nice place to go now which is sad
Nice, but had a rather abrupt end. This is not obvious to the viewer as to why this is so? I take it you are going to continue with your other channel?
Yes, it was intended. The full video will be uploaded in the other channel soon. Thank you for always watching. I need to direct all toilet review traffic to the Toilet Inspection channel.
@@carolcantravel Yes, I do think that your travel and toilet channels should be separate as not everyone is interested in seeing toilet facilities. Me, I like to see what they look and sound like both inside and out, but I fully understand that this is not everyone's cup of tea. I really like to see vintage toilets where they can be found, but I fully appreciate the way you do your filming step by step so to speak. Thanks for getting back to me so soon.
@@GI4JYTJust seeing now that I replied from the wrong channel 😔. It's a bus rides only channel. I've deleted the comment as it's meant to come from my travel channel. This was an error please excuse me
Used to commute to this station everyday, its such an old beautiful building that's sort of been left to ruin, even with all the refurbishments they did. Such a shame really. They spent a couple of years building that waiting room, and I see its still not open!
It's a shame to see such a nice and strong building being neglected. I don't know if it is to do with many people having personal cars. The waiting room was closed due to vandalism. Thank you for watching and commenting
When I'm walking around I don't usually see this level of detail. I'm so surprised that you are not getting more comments and likes than you are. I'm aware it is just an ordinary train station, but I love seeing all the little ordinary everyday things that we mostly never pay attention to. Thanks Carol, I assume that is your name, for all these excellent videos. 10 out of 10 for presentation. You have made my evening with this latest one in the sunshine! Yes, I suspected that this is a listed building, if not, it certainly deserves to be. Like you say it is.
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I like everyday things on the streets and stations name it. I like details too and love checking out street furniture in places I visit. Carol is my name. The more people watch and like the video the more RU-vid suggests it to viewers. Thank you for your support
@@carolcantravel Thanks for your reply. Now that is interesting, sometimes your reply appears on my notification section and sometimes not. so I must be missing replies, odd? I do reply to other channels and that is why I was alerted to missing replies. I don't always remember which ones I comment on until I am alerted to the reply in the comment section as there is so much to see on Y.T. I could spend all day watching videos, but that would not be good for me LOL! There must be toilets somewhere on this station, but I was not expecting them on this channel anyway.
@@GI4JYT It's easy to miss the reply. I missed this one just seeing it now. But at least for me I can see the number of comments for each video. I couldn't see the toilets maybe I didn't look properly.
I'm not sure I can do the Barnsley hospital tour, I will have to be a patient there to film it. Where is the Alhambra shopping centre? Thank you for your comment
I do, but I post them in my new Toilet's only channel that I created several weeks ago. The name of the channel is Toilet Inspection and here is the link youtube.com/@toiletinspection-o6y?si=VO7LkwlOZryYa9H6 Please subscribe or follow there if you want to see more toilet videos from me. Thank you for watching and commenting
@@John-lp5xh Unfortunately it won't be on this channel. I stopped posting toilet videos on this channel a couple of weeks ago. Try Toilet Inspection where toilet review videos will be uploaded. All world toilets will be captured and posted there 😄. Thank you for your comments
I didn't know about this, I should check it out. I just googled it and this year it's today. Thank you for the pointer. Thank you for watching and commenting
Thank you. I have a toilet review channel called Toilet Inspection, if you like this type of content you can subscribe there. I will no longer post toilet videos in this channel
Even on a moving bus you film well. I personally could not read the ticket you showed, but I was able to tell it was a ticket. I think it was too close to the camera, but you would need to consult some one with better vision than me. I loved the look of those seats, I hope they were as comfortable as they appeared, but to me they look quite inviting to sit down on.
Thank you for the compliment. I agree the ticket was too close, but I didn't want to cut out the part because of the audio. I'm learning everyday. I loved the seats too and can confirm they are comfortable. I like Delaine buses. Thank you for watching
According to what I can see in your film the place looks a little cramped, perhaps if I saw it in real life, I'd possibly think differently The bedroom looks to have plenty of natural light coming in. The bathroom is nice and I like that modern toilet which is a surprise to me. For a short time stay I wouldn't mind it.
It was a small place and I booked it last minute. I liked the bathroom too, although it could do with a window. For one night stay it's ok but not more than that. Thank you for watching and supporting the channel. You are part of the foundation.
Yes that too, I forgot to mention. It's better a hotel than this type of accommodation. I paid £49 for it and it was a last minute booking. Thank you for your comment
Again well described. Yes I can even see that the floor does not look as clean as it could be. The toilets themselves look like they have just been cleaned as you pointed out. I like those broad traps indicating that they are older toilets, but not vintage. A clean trap usually indicates a clean toilet. I'm a little confused as to why you did not put these on your other channel? Nevertheless I'm so glad I found them. Don't worry, there are other channels who pick on the men's loos.
What are traps, new toilet vocabulary for me. I didn't upload this in the other channel because I edited and uploaded it on RU-vid in June and deleted the video from my laptop due to storage. The video had the pinning places watermark hence I uploaded it here. This is the last toilet video here, moving forward I will upload it to the other channel. I uploaded a new video there today. Thank you for your comment
@@carolcantravel The trap is the little reservoir of water left in the toilet pan/bowl when it is flushed, these are called 'wash-down' toilets. In the case of a siphonic toilet, more common in the 1970's here in the U.K., than now, the waterline came right up in the pan/bowl almost to the top. When these toilets are flushed the waste is pulled down with the water and a new fresh 'pool' of water replaces it. When I realised this was proper for that type of toilet, I was relieved the toilet was not going to flood the bathroom floor I was in at that time. Siphonic toilets look really fetching if you happen to come across them. Thank you for your explanation regarding this video not being on your other channel. I'm not so techie with uploading vids as I'd like to be due mainly to what I've already told you regarding my eyesight.
@@carolcantravel I just love it how you bring ordinary things to life. I wish more channels did this with everyday things such as the things I've indicated to you before. These videos I'm sure will be valuable in the future more than they are right now.
@@carolcantravel Well, these things you see may seem boring and uninteresting to many today, but like I say, If your style of filming things are preserved folks will be falling over themselves to see them in time to come. Wouldn't it have been lovely to see the houses etc in victorian times on into the 20th century. Just think if they had had the technology we have today what they would have done with it back then?
@@GI4JYT True, it would be nice to see how places were in the 20s, 40s etc. Well future generations won't have the same problem, they will see these videos.
I forgot to comment as it was so late when I saw this one first time. Nice clean toilets here. Thanks for flushing. Sometimes toilets in the cubicles can sound different, especially in this country which has surprised me even though they are of the same type. this has a plumbing explanation. Older styles in my view look and sound more interesting, but there are a few exceptions with some modern ones, but sadly not many. I've not seen so many bins in one place LOL!
Yes they are. No problem. Just to update you , I will be posting Toilet only videos in the new channel here youtube.com/@toiletinspection-o6y?si=u9TswQ4fsOAGr3we I have already posted a video there, so If you are still interested in seeing the toilet videos please subscribe there. I thought it was better to separate the toilet content from the rest of my content due to the algorithm
@@carolcantravel That'a a great idea, keeps everything in it's rightful place. If I were able to film, as I explained to you earlier, I'd do the same. I'll keep subscribed to this your channel and I'll definitely check out your new toilet only channel. Thanks again for telling me and sending the link.
No problem. I have more coming up. I may rethink the channel and create a public toilet channel only. I need to think about it. Thank you for your comment
@@carolcantravel I look forward to that. Personally I love seeing older style toilets as I've indicated to you before. I like the way you don't more the camera to much while filming, but at times I understand this is difficult to avoid. Please remember 'flushes and refills' as sometimes they do sound great especially with older fixtures. Modern toilets are not so good in this regard.
I'm glad you liked it. Thank you for explaining the milk churn, it didn't click at all when I was filming, perhaps due to the location, but now I get it. Thank you for watching and commenting
I live near LBA airport, haven't been to Bradford for years, never been to Dewsbury in my life and tbh have no idea where it is.😂 Like everybody l know, we stay north of Bradford and go to Leeds, llkley, Skipton, Harrogate for eating, shopping, drinking etc. I was born in Bradford but doubt l'll go in ever again so Dewsbury will remain a mystery too as it looks Bradford-lite.
Nice comment 😄, I have only heard about Bradford but the more I hear the more I want to visit and make a vide. Thank you for watching the video and commenting.
@@carolcantravel Go there it has some staggering architecture in the centre. But raise your eyes from the ground floors (which must be 40% empty) and you'll realise that the upper floors have not been occupied since maybe the late 80's when white collar businesses fled to Leeds. Bradford centre floor space will be 90% vacant.
Loved this video from beginning to end. Again, thank you for filming steadily and slowly. Thanks for flushing that toilet and giving a good view of it and the whole area of the room etc. The audio is a little on the quiet side but I can turn it up a little. Also I really appreciate you giving a commentary and describing what you are actually looking at and filming. Well done.
@@carolcantravel I liked your videos of train stations. Hawk No 486 did a lovely video a railway station a while ago of a waiting room with vintage toilet. If you are able to find any railway station toilets it would be good to see them especially if they are vintage? Some of your other videos were louder than the latest one. I'm so glad I found your videos. Looking forward to watching your earlier uploads and and future ones too as you post them.
You film ever so well. I admire the way you are doing this. Having sight loss myself, but not totally blind, this sort of thing is the icing on the cake for me as walking around I have to be extra careful as to where I'm putting my feet, so looking around is not so easy. I really wish more channels did this kind of thing? As for toilets 'try Hawk No_486. This should take you to many more. This channel does derelict areas. Another is 'Dauntless'. Tenby 7 to name a few.
@@carolcantravel They are different to what you are doing. I also like detail. I have other interests such as traditional cotton 'roller towels' and certain types of seating in traditional and ordinary settings. Do you know what I am talking about when I mention 'roller towels'?
@@carolcantravel There is not much on 'roller towels' unfortunately on Y.T., but I thought if you are filming toilets you may come across them. They are usually 'striped' and are hung from a roller. They were quite common in the 1950's/60's and less so in the 1970's. They are quite pretty to look at and gave a toilet/kitchen setting real nostalgia.
I'm not a big fan of metal toilets. That's one thing that does not come over in a video, the smell, good or bad. However to me, I've seen a lot worse, but I have poor eyesight so I may not be picking up all the detail from your video.
I agree, I'm uncomfortable using metallic toilets and the smell. To be fair I did the video quickly so I can leave due to the smell. Thank you for your comment
Definitely nicer than the gents would be in general. Put new toilets in for men and in six months time they will be in a dreadful state. However there are a few exceptions, but not many in my view. Thank you for filming and please let us see some more? Thanks.
Unfortunately, I haven't been to the gents public toilets. As I'm a lady I can only film ladies at least for now. Some public toilets are unisex so that covers all users. I have a video lined up for a toilet in Halifax Yorkshire. Watch out for that. Also I have a playlist for toilets, here is the link ru-vid.com/group/PLsLox-3XN3puRszvNHoP93N7LHEut_Urv&si=oE5Bccajy-vreDhf Thank you for your comment
@@carolcantravel Yes, I understand the first part of your comment perfectly and I wouldn't expect you to do anything else. There are other channels who do film gents loos for historical interest and how they have been refurbished etc over the years. They tend to look for vintage High Level toilets. My particular interest is vintage toilets of either gender and how they differ in their equivalent M & L decor and fittings plus layout. I particular appreciate hearing vintage toilets flushing and refilling. Sadly these tend to be disappearing fast. I've always been interested in vintage loos since childhood as they bring back so many memories. Thank you for your reply.
@@GI4JYT Thank you for the pointers re flashing and refilling, I will take this onboard when filming. I didn't know vintage toilets were a thing but I will look out for the same. If you know a place with one feel free to suggest. Thank you for your comment
@@carolcantravel Not off the top of my head, but they do exist on Y.T. still. There used to be some nice Victorian toilets in a park in Margate Kent, but I think they have now been demolished or decommissioned.
Just needing to pay to get in is bad enough, then if you do pay it's almost like being scammed because they are not maintained well and you could get all kinds of viruses.
I miss hearing the church and other bells in the UK. The birdsong is another thing I miss. It’s completely different from what we hear in Canada. Love the video, ignore the idiots who draw attention to themselves to control what you film. They are morons, end of! I am from Blackpool. Keep filming.
Thank you for the encouragement 😊. Noted, I hope you can hear the church bells through this channel in one of the videos. I'm glad you liked the video. Thank you for watching and commenting
I grew up near Dewsbury, in another nearby town which is very nice. Dewsbury in the 1970s and 1980s was a nice place. Unfortunately, like Bradford, it is now largely horrendous. ‘Don’t be taking pictures of me’. Tell him he’s in public and to do one.
Thank you for your comment. I hope you enjoy the town you live in and appreciate it. This is one of the reasons I decided to create a channel and make videos like these so people can see how the places look now. I hope to visit Bradford but I need to prepare.
@@carolcantravel funnily enough you were in the nicest part of Dewsbury, venture further out and around the town and it gets worse. Bradford again some parts are OK. Some are horrendous. Nicest part of Bradford is Saltaire, go there it is lovely and a World Heritage site.
Подняться на Мирабелу можно было и под дождем. Подъём простой и длится минут 15. Намного сложнее подняться на самый верх горы к Фортеце. У нас ушло на это 1 час 30 минут.
