I don't get the argument that it will be costing schools that much more money. If you have 34 scholarships, just admit 34 more students into gen pop than you normally would. Makes sense, right?
Maine’s Falmouth team - great team, on your list but didn’t read it out loud. Sent multiple players to D1 schools in recent years with great underclassmen coming up.
In year's past, I might have agreed with this. But now with the transfer portal, schools at all levels are spending their summers trying to recruit guys out of the transfer portal and then turning their focus to the high school kids in the Fall. Kids now would actually be better off playing in some type of "free" baseball league like American Legion or Babe Ruth in the Summer and saving their money to play travel baseball in the Fall. I can say from my experience that Fall Travel baseball in 2023 and 2024 has been / will be 100% worth it.
Appreciate your perspective but the problem remains the same which is you only have a few weeks to get in front of coaches and even then you are just hoping someone sees you (bad strategy). You can’t predict who will be there. Certain camps and showcases are not good but if the school are in need of your position and the right coaches are at the showcases it’s way better getting exposure that way than maybe being seen at a tournament by some school you don’t know about.
@@RecruitingwithAlex Everything you mentioned could be the case in either the Summer or Fall. With everything else being equal, college coaches are going to be more focused on high school players in the Fall than the Summer. I know this beyond a shadow of a doubt. College coaches spent a lot of their resources this summer recruiting transfer portal players out of collegiate summer leagues. I witnessed this first hand.
@@ValleyBaseballScout Yeah exactly, summer and fall travel ball are overrated for that reason because again for a player you are just winging it you have no idea who is out there if anyone. I talk to coaches every week that can't be everywhere and see everyone that is why camps and showcases are important. To many players and parents are spending thousands and thousands of dollars just hoping to be seen when no one shows up. There is a better way to go about it than some travel team or summer team.
That definitely makes a lot of sense. I have found that most of these camps at colleges are just clinics, they list them as “prospect camps” but they are really only clinic type things. Do you have a video on how to find good quality showcases at colleges or third party ones? Thank you!

3rd party showcase is a scam. Our invite from a college coach to attend a showcase came from the showcase and not the coach. Your reply gets forwarded to the coach and likely goes to his spam.
i wouldn't say that . well, I tried it 3 years ago. i was just casually playing my game . it was valorant actually. i was too focused and i could literally feel each framer changing , my crosshair changing everything . even i was too shocked. and also i have never been able to match that focus level, not even close. i have adhd too. maybe it was just adhd hyperfocus. someone who has adhd, can be too focused on something sometimes. it's subconscious tho.
@@AkaRshit466 I think this helps if you easily lose focus, but I can't say it 4x my 200 ms reation time. Sounds like you were experiencing flow state. This trick will not get you into flow state
@@iShrix yeah! , i agree on that. but it does improve reaction time. not much but you'll definitely see a difference. and for flow state, meditation . i think meditation does help for it.
You mentioned a few times to email coaches prior to going to camps and after as a follow up. What are your thoughts on twitter. Would that work as well or do you suggest email as a better form of communication. Thanks and love the content.
I’m 5’11. 181 About to be a jr in high school. Went to show case and ran a 6.51 Hit 94 off tee and threw 90 from the outfield. What metrics do I need to improve to play D1 baseball?
Hey Coach, I had gotten injured twice, torn labrum in both shoulders. My injuries were timed terribly, the first one happened senior year, and the second one 4 games into my freshman year at a D2.(New Mexico highlands) I originally signed to a juco right after highschool but felt as I came in injured I was put on the back burner, transferred out. I felt, as a freshmen I could have held my own. (My coach didn’t get his contract re-newed at the 4 year) I took a year off and now I’m going into my r-soph year at a juco… last chance really, if I sign any level lower than d1, I do know my clock stops at a d2 and lower with me taking the year off. I’m undersized 5’9 165 (OF) Not a blow away guy but I always played (not 5 o’clock) Injury took me away from being exposed, I have one year left at this juco… any tips on how to maximize exposure through this final year of putting myself out there?

I have a question, my daughter is eligible for tuition remission based on her mother’s faculty employment at a D1 school. It seems irrelevant to send our daughter to another school for a partial scholarship when she can have all cost covered. Would that be mentioned to the head coach during recruitment. That all she is looking for is a roster spot no need for scholarship money? Does that make my daughter an interesting option for the coach
