Good video - I LOVE gear and pack vids. And wise words from an obviously mature young man - Take care of your gear and your gear will take care of you. Well said my friend and good luck this season. Try and get us some footage of the stud you harvest.
Man, that vid makes me want to go out for waterfowl. You guys are dedicated to be heading out at 0430. I liked the journey getting to the hunting area as much as seeing the birds come in!
Like any species, crow populations need to be managed. Otherwise they over populate, destroy their own habitat, invade other species and generally become detrimental and a nuisance to the earth. It's called environmental science and game management.
Some tips... 1. as stated before, tighten up your linemen rope, only should have 10-12 inches from chest to tree. 2. This is more of a preference but make platform level with top of last step, it gives you more maneuverability around the tree. 3. once you have platform strap on button close the platform before pulling strap tight, then cam it over. 4. Always put tether on before transitioning to platform, most falls occur when transitioning from climbing method to platform. Stay safe and good luck this year!
That is way too much slack in your linesman. Your life could end as you know it if your foot slips. My goal is to help you and thousands of others climbing like you. Try S.M.A.R.T Climbing. It's easier, SAFER, quieter, and fun.

Honest question here, is it acceptable to just hit the slide lock with your right thumb as you raise up to chamber the round rather than rack the slide with your left hand? Genuinely curious.
Thanks for the comment and yes it is tottally fine especially if you have an extended slide relaese although in some cases it is hard to hit the slide release if your thumbs are not long enough or you have a stock slide relase it can be hard to hit
