The Angry Teacher is a channel to share and discuss best strategies, talk about education in general, share experiences, and support others new to the academic arena, be it teachers, administrators, or students. Strategies and ideas from my class to Yours!
My name is Richard Williams, also affectionately known as Pops (a moniker given to me by my students years ago). I have taught English in the public school system in Miami Dade County Public Schools in Miami, Florida for 18+ years and would like to share my insights and experiences with others.
I will attempt to upload videos as much as THREE times [every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday] a week to help others help our students. I love my kids, and once you begin using these strategies and ideas, you'll love yours too!
Again, welcome to The Angry Teacher Channel!

@@TheAngryTeacher I plan to open up a TPT store very soon. Actually, I'm striving to have my free product and one more up by the end of this month which is only in a few days but I'm trying. : ) I've been soaking up as much info as possible, but I've probably been soaking up too much when I should have just concentrated on getting it started and making changes later. But, oh well, what's done is done. Or rather, what's not done is not done. 😄
Thanks for your video! I was thinking the same thing about not being able to use my custom quote box image anymore, but I just went to the TPT Seller blog and checked out the templates (in the post titled "A Fresh New Look for Your TPT Store Page" ). One of the templates looks like an option that allows you to upload a custom banner image - it just has to be 1200 x 320 pixels. Haven't had time to play around with it yet, but hopefully it won't be too time-consuming to take my current image and adjust it for these dimensions.
Hey stranger, Yeah. I guess I fear the unknown too much, but I wonder how much we'll have to do to get our stored where we want them to be. Summer school? I hope they're not too stressful. 😄 We'll talk.
What's frustrating about not being allowed to use gif or animated banners is that many TPT sellers have invested time and effort into creating these banners. Now, with the new restriction, those banners will be rendered useless, causing the sellers to lose money and effort they put into their work.
Exactly. Everyone's store will be the same with one form of templateor another. We're a marketplace; he claims we're going to look like LinkedIn...seriously? who wants to look like LinkedIn to sell resources? 🙄
Hey, no problem. I try to make sure everyone knows that it's possible. Even with the ups and downs, it's possible. We just need to stick together and stick it out.
I think I would go to the listings, select the category, and use the 'quick edit' to change prices. But it is still one by one... It would be nice to have an option to select many products at once... I guess the other option is to put products on sale...
@@TheAngryTeacher I saw an uptake in views when I updated all my covers in my store. I think updating helps the algorithm. If you check the product too and make a tweek to the resource you could also provide a note to the previous buyers who may buy again?
Hey Cidalia, I think you missed the point of homework. It's supposed to be practice. If parents drop kids off at practice for a sport or music classes, why do they think academics can only be learned through the few hours with interruptions at school?
Great video as always! I love the saying 'thank you' tip. Sometimes I'm so focused on getting more sales, that I forget to send emails or notes to followers just saying 'thank you' or showing appreciation to my followers.
Well school in most part is to memorize stuff. School kills creativity and self thinking. It dosen't help you in THE REAL World. A big change in the education system is needed. I am against homework abt home. Most of the time after adult work when he come at home he can relax and bot think about it. But kids... no. Sad.
You are definitely doing something right if your sales increased in January. I am very happy to hear that for you. 🎉🎉And it will not be long until you start making more than 2K a month. Just be patient, keep on creating, update your products, which, by the way, has been a game changer for me, and advertise on social media.
Cool. I know right. I need to be consistent with it. I'd start out like a Rockstar and then fizzle out. But, I'm planning on keeping it up this year. 😆
Look at this video EDITING! Great report! I'll be filming mine this week as I start my new job tomorrow! Wish me luck! Going from k-12 teaching into the college classroom! :)
I loved this. My sales have decreased dramatically and I mean by the thousands compared to last year. I don’t understand what’s going on and am also concerned about the future of TPT.
Amazing tips! Great video, Richard. I have been updating resources for the last two months and just started working on a new bundle. Updates really make a difference!
HEY LeenDz, You might have to contact TpT. I have no idea. I only have one store. I don't think others have had problems with 2 stores and PayPal. I tried searching the Sellers Forum, but didn't find the answer. So, I definitely suggest contacting TpT.
I've implemented most of these. My favorite is bundle upsell. Mine works best when I upsell bundles in the previews of individual products. I'm going to try the freebie with a purchase. Thanks a lot for this.
So true. I get discouraged and start second doubting myself and then stop working on my tpt resources thinking nobody wants them. But keeping your focus is so important because this is a marathon not a race. Congratulations on your first tpt milestone.
