Accrington Pipe band in Manchester doesn't seem to adequately describe the event. I can see it took place in Manchester, but I wonder what the event was and whether it was on 11th July or some other time of year? Pentecost? I see several bands - no doubt including t' APB, but also other pipe bands and brass bands too, along with the mayor, clerics of different denominations - so, I'm guessing there's both a civic and an ecumenical side to this. Also various religious banners, including one with "Holy Spirit" written on it and various young ladies who seemed to be dressed for a confirmation service, or something special anyway, so was this a religious festival or something else? I'm curious to know. There were also some very game older people too, who must have been very tired afterwards, and a cross camera person at one point; but the weather seemed to keep fine for it, so I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. The music was very solemn and well played, but in the crossover - given the proximity of the bands, I find it very slightly reminiscent of a Charles Ives piece at moments. Anyway, if anybody can elighten me I'd be interested to know. 'Nice to see Manchester again - haven't been there for nigh on 40 year'. Eh upp Lad!
