We’ve had the same issue, both pipes and burst in the same place. Wish we didn’t cut the big hole in the side of van and went with a different heater 🙁
I managed to put a door there and sealed up the sides. If you’re able to find a good welder and metal bender, then maybe have them fix it up and just get a different heater etc. I would ideally go full electric, which is what we did in the end after we went part time. We have now sold the van so we don’t have it anymore.
Looking for advice. Is it a spring loaded tensioner for belt as mine needs replacing.. and could you reach it from the top or have to come from the bottom. Thank you. Any detailed advice on this would be appreciated.. Les
Hello, yes it is spring loaded. You can reach in from the top or the bottom but the top would be advised personally. If you want an easier job maybe you can take out the bumper which is not hard to do that way you have an easier access.
The tyres are great that’s, I have since sold the van. But we had to upgrade the front leaf suspension to heavy duty and that lifted the front up by 2-4” and helped so the front tyres didn’t rub when turning. Good luck and have fun 😊
New subscriber here!. This was a really great video, and it has helped me with my decision to buy one as recently one of my cameras have failed. Currently they are on offer from Reolink with 22% off, so £79.99, a very good price. Thank you once again - Neil (UK)
We ended up taking the lpg out completely after our fulltime vanlife finished and we went part time. I wished we went with full electric configuration to start with and have maybe 4 Tesla battery packs to make 20kwh which would have been great and less of a hassle in the end. But looking back at it, we did what we thought was right at the time.
So how is the new bigger Alternator working out. Also, a suggestion, you need to improve your camera work/production. It's nearly impossible to watch this video with the shaky cam and much too close face close ups. A tripod or gorilla pod and a wider lense would work wonders.
The product backup seems non existent... I think it's just a branding game and well I am not impressed... I think that yours might be able to be welded up though ;) I'd give that a go but it will always be a weak spot...
We bought another one and replaced it, but after being full time and now part time, we have now taken it out completely and the van is just ran on electric which is way better than LPG 😊
Thanks. There settings within the camera app to maximise the resolution and also adjust the footage so it’s abit brighter. I increased the shadow and increased the brightness abit for the camera footage. On the phone it looks ok but on a mac or computer the full resolution is seen much better 😊. The camera is 4K 😊
I just used a universal jb I got from Amazon and you can get it from where, as long as it’s aluminium, you can mark out where you want to mount the camera and make sure it’s level, then just drill out the hole or use a self tapping screws then use stainless steel screws to secure the camera in place don’t forget to seal up any holes with silicon that’s UV resistance. Are you part of the Facebook group, I am active there am called chinaka 😊
Your welcome, the box I used is just a normal aluminium box. I added a extra holes in it to make sure that the camera is straight and sealed it up with silicone. Hope that helps 😊
Had the same issue with mine failing in exactly the same place (seen quite a few posts about the same issue), this was my fault though as I was using it during the winter & hadn't drained it, but being an engineer I managed to repair the heat exchanger, however the water flow switch body had also cracked which I managed to seal but have since bought a new one via ebay posted from china for £14.
They all burst in the same spot at the top left I’ve fixed lots now you can remove heat exchanger and solder the split pipe up pretty much a free fix and it holds out fine with it only being a low pressure system in a campervan
Do you just use solder to fill the split or do you use a repair patch soldered to it? Mine is burst on the top left but it’s on a bend so it would be tricky to get a patch to fit over it nicely.
Thank you so much for this nice and interesting video and especially for the information on the boulders/rocky path on the top! I watched many videos of climbing goat fell but never got information of how the last rocky part is. I´m from Germany and have been in Scotland many times but never made it to the top of Goat Fell. So now the training can start. 🙂 All the good for you!
Wow good luck. If it’s the same size it should be easy, maybe 30mins work. What took longer was running new upgraded wire to handle the new higher amps at 12V. Good luck 😊
Hi. Where I get sliding door seal? I have the original sliding door seals on the body, but I haven't seen them on the door itself yet. Where did you get the one that goes on the door? a seal that is simply attached to the hull, then water comes through.
I like the way you’re doing the job very much. I like the most the way you use the aluminum structures. I think it gives a nice good looking and strong result. Thank you for uploading all the episodes. Greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks for this video guys - we also wish we'd seen it before we purchased an imass as we're going to Norway in the next few weeks and are really worried about the same thing happening. 😫
We have taken out all the Lpg out of the van now and have now gone full electric as we are no longer fulltime but use it for weekends etc. I’ll say the best thing to do is to make sure you have a drain valve built into the system to allow you to drain to so water does not freeze inside the system etc. have fun on your trip and hope nothing happens to the heater
Not for the video, but we used the bikes and loved it. We don’t have them at the moment as we are now part time vanlifer and didn’t want them to just be kept in storage. If we ever have need for them we would buy them again no problem 😊
Hi, do you still have the heater that you removed as I also have a broken unit but it is a different part that is broken on ours so I would be willing to purchase your old unit in order to repair ours. Thanks
Sorry to hear about your heater broken. Message me on Instagram and we can talk about it. I don’t have the heater anymore as I sold it, but I found a website that sells some parts for the heater, hopefully the have them part your looking for. You can find out Instagram page link on our RU-vid home page.
complete rubbish I'm on my second one as the first one just stopped working and I can't get nowhere with the supplier or imass, I had to buy the second one as I was going away and needed it.
Oh no sorry to hear it happened to you also, so far this third one has been working great so far. Ya the first one was great until the pipe burst, second one wasn’t great. I’ll contact the people who you bought it from and send it back as it’s faulty and get a refund for it. I hope you get something back.
@@theoteam4641 I'm still not getting anywhere with the seller or imass, imass told me that the fault code was the water sensor which I replaced and it still didn't fix it, so I've swapped the ecu over with the new one and it's working, so now I've got to try and get a new one from them, and sell off one of them to get some of my money back but the futures not going to be good if it breaks down again.
I got the exact same bike yesterday but I got the guy in the shop to fit it all together! Had a trial run last night. Great! Using it to travel to work this morning. 😀
I have 15A on the unit because it’s a 24V system. I later changed the fuse to 20A Midi fuse instead as it’s better for the system. I have seen it hit as high as 22A each charger. Plus victron says it’s max is 35A so as long as the fuse is less than that but higher than the nominal amperage then it’s ok as long as your wire is rated higher than the highest amperage etc
Hi ya… great build so far !!! Was wondering what size aluminium profile did you use throughout the van..20/20 30/30 or the 45/45? Many thanks and looking forward to watching the rest, thanks
I got 2020 to use bot found it was abit small so I used it on the roof box, then got 3030 and use that throughout the whole van build inside and found it perfect. If your having a fixed bed etc, I would suggest 4545 or 4040 so that way you don’t have to have allot of support in your bed frame
