Hi, sorry to bother you but I wanna put custom characters on mario kart wii and Ive spent days trying to figure it out. My problem is that when i download the custom characters from mario kart wiki I get a .szs file and I dont know what to do with it. If you can help I would much appreciate it.
If you download a modeled character, all you need to do is put the szs file in your “mystuff” folder” in the sd card. Make sure the name of the szs file is supported by ctgp
@@Soggypotatoes29Ok so I just did that and tested it and it didnt work. I download the file, then I put it into "mystuff" folder but it tells me that "some properties might no pass over". I've tried with many different custom characters and the same thing happens. I dont know if I'm doing something wrong or if the sd card is bad. I feel like smashing my wii u but got any other advice.

Your gonna need a computer with your sd card (with ctpgr). On your computer go to your files and navigate to your sd card. There should be a folder named ctgpr under the sd card, expand the folder and there should be a “mystuff” folder underneath it. If not, create folder named mystuff. Then with the texture of your choice, drag the file to the mystuff folder. For example, I want to use the Red Funky Kong Mushroom Texture, so I would get the file (la_bike-fk.szs) and put in the mystuff folder. After that, eject the sd card from the computer and load up ctgp. In the menu selection, go to settings and enable “mystuff folder”, after that launch the game and you should be all set! If you have questions, I’ll try my best to respond as soon as possible.
So question. Does the race.szs or the common.szs have anything to do with how the item effects work? Example being the blue shell launching you into the air and modifying it to just spin you out or flip.

I do not know how to make the drift into mkdd and it’s been a while since I’ve worked with the common.szs so I’m not sure if I can make these for you. I’m very sorry I couldn’t be any help😞
The textures in the video are outdated. The files in the description are updated versions with better placement on the icon. Props to Atlas for making the icon texture for funky kong, this makes so you don’t have to worry about mirroring the images
