Her words are more relevant today, more than fifty years later, than anyone could have ever known then! This is what is so heartbreaking to me: this generation has not known the price that was paid for the freedoms they won't even exercise today. They have no appreciation or gratitude for the hard-won battles of equality.

What an impressive, intelligent, well spoken and strong woman! I wish I had a small percentage of her strength. I just saw a documentary on her life on PBS. Fanny Lou Hamer's America: An America Reframed Special. All Americans should know her name! She was inducted into the American Women's Hall of Fame posthumously in 1993. It's the least she deserved. 💜❇️

I knew Mrs Hamer none of you would accept her now because she opposed abortion!!! The greatest woman of the 20th century and youi would abandon her!!! the hell with you!!
@Jason-bz6uw
@Jason-bz6uw 8 месяцев назад
Back then the issue of abortion was vastly different. They strategically placed abortion clinics in Black neighborhoods. Most Blacks during that time opposed abortion. Unlike now, they didn't give them other options or try to convince them to keep their babies. Abortion clinics back then were a way to reduce the Black population. It wasn't until white women started utilizing abortion clinics in droves that it became a bad thing! When Black women did it, not a care or word was spoken about it. That's why older Blacks have always opposed abortion. The morality and dignity have evolved. It was always about control until the statistics of a certain group began to show a decline. Then abortion became a noble fight about women's autonomy and right to choose. Give me a break trying to trash a hero in the Black community

Ms Lou Hammer brought up a very good point about the deaths of Black People in the infamous American slave trade. Over years gone by, I've read many careless ignoramus callous comments on yt against Black Folks on various right wing MAGA RU-vid channels promoting or fostering contemptuous and dehumanizing white supremacist attitudes against Blacks in their subscribers. To make fun of us, deride our "low IQs" and "Crimal inclinations" and "inferior DNA". Laugh at and belittle us and make jokes at our expense, and, I guess show by doing this, showing off to the World how "Superior" their collective intelligence are by posting these derogatory backward remarks, messaging to all who reads them, as if that they are the only Ones living able to make the World a better place to live in for all, all to "Glorify God". One of their favorite downgrading claims goes something like, I mean really stupid and childish, that only x amount of Blacks died during Slavery in Antebellum times. The Chinese and Irish and Native Americans suffered way more than Blacks did in America, blah blah. Implying "so what are they complaining about??? These Blacks had it the easiest of all minorities in America ". One of the important things to know on the historical ordeals of Blacks in America, they simply don't take into consideration about the horrible conditions on them massive slave ships that brought death to millions and millions of captured Africans (Ms. Hammer said 40 million ..and perhaps more than that) before) before these boats even got to the shores of America in transit from Africa. No they don't. Most likely they don't even know about it, hm, probably even don't care to. Their White leaders - Fox News Ben Shapiro Steven Crowder Storm Front Lauren Southern And other "America First Christian Patriotic" sites and persons conditions them not to I suppose.

And that very brilliant response she gave to that "Go back to Africa" crap, said so many times to Black faces by those indifferent thoughtless Whites in showing off how much of a genuine Jackass they each can be whenever they put their warped screwed up minds to do so, was just Great! "Well whenever you send the Koreans back to Korea, the Chinese back to China, the Jews back to Jerusalem....give the Indians back their land, and you all get back on the Mayflower and go back to Europe, then we'll go back to Africa!" I'm like, That's right Ms Hammer! You Sock it Back to 'em Lady and shut them the F up!!! with all their "go back to Africa" BS!
