This guy is gonna have an amazing career on RU-vid. His video style reminds me of inheritance machining or BlackTail Studio. Keep up the good work man, cant wait to watch what you produce in the future!
This leather is Veg-tanned saddle leather. It has much different properties than typical chrome-tanned upholstery leather. I would argue that it is more durable than rubber of the same thickness, but rubber would certainly work too
I need to find someone who makes hand made belts with interchangeable buckles… I am very picky on my belts. My only one is just straight leather no embossing or anything and has snap clasps for different buckles
Beautiful work. I remember as a kid when my father took me to a leather shop. He bought me a new leather embossed belt and boots with an eagle. I will never forget that day
The one with two little strips on each side would offer more stability. I feel like the long ones would create a rocking motion on not perfect flooring.
I prefer look of 2 long feet, but 4 feet mihht be more practical. Why not use 4 feet but keep snap button on inside for a cleaner aesthetic?? Liking how stool is shaping up. Very Industrial yet elegant. Feels Bauhaus
the 4 indiviual straps are more economical, less leather, fewer snaps, better contact on uneven surfaces ( less rocking) easier to manufacture on the entirety... fewer steps in assembly = more profit
I prefer the two smaller “feet”. Not because they are smaller, but because I prefer that design. I’m guessing that each design would use practically the same amount of leather too? Or, out of interest, does one use more leather that the other?
The built in snaps are also an issue if damaged. Easier to replace a strap than rivet snaps to aluminum. Also with loop strap you can install with snaps inside to give a no snap look. Depending on which base you decide on, notched or built in snap, you can sell straps that accomplish either look. More customizable, more appeal.
The 2 piece will be sturdier on the ground, uses much less leather, and fewer snaps. I don't think aesthetics are the only issue. I like the 4 feet option (2/side)
I like the 4 feet for 1: the distinct difference between the seat and feet, 2: improved probability of stability having narrow points on a floor vs a solid, long strip.
One uses more leather then the other. Plus the one with the more leather also takes longer to make. I am concerned that the leather would rub through quickly on the floor edge of the stool. Maybe a different material on the bottom would be best? Idk. The stool is very aesthetically pleasing especially on the sitting portion
No it should not be decided by look; both give off a a very similar look. I think the four tabs uses less product and look tobe easier to replace if wear and tear becomes an issue.
