@@crybabychrononaut thanks for your comment 🙏 Yes the Venture is a great watch ⌚️👌 and the limited edition Un-Dark is an excellent looking version, that also pays tribute to the Radium Girls. I’m sure you’ll love it when it arrives 👍😎
@@kaczynski2333 thanks for taking the time to comment 👍 Perhaps ‘almost GADA’ is a better term 😆 My #1 hobby is rock climbing, and tbh I never climb in any watch. It’s not really possible as you often use hands and arms between rocks to pull up on etc! But having said that I’m sitting on a beach atm and about to wear my BOLDR Safari to go surf kayaking! And I would not wear this Seiko 5 for doing that!
I just bought a new Seiko SSK001 and returned immediately. These Seiko models have very poor and terrible bezels that turn very easily and mess up our GMT settings. These watches suck....you have been warned.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment John 👍 I wonder if your watch is a bit faulty with a loose bezel? I’ve had mine since day 1 of release - 2 years ago - and mine has been without fault. The bezel is not at all loose and the timekeeping is within a couple of seconds a day. I really love my watch and think it’s one of the best watches available.
@@OnetoWatch It is very possible that I got a lemon, also my watch was fast about 12 seconds a day, not as accurate as it should have been. Looks like I was not lucky with my purchase but glad to hear that is not the normal and you are happy with your Seiko.
Could you tell me how visible is the blue color on the bezel? In some videos it apears as it blends with the black part and in others like in yours its solid blue?
The blue part of the bezel changes from blue to black as the watch changes angle and catches the light differently. This is due to the bezel insert being made from hardlex. I think this looks good and gives the watch character.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on my video. And thanks for the lovely comments on my review 🤝☺️ Yes this is a great watch and the titanium case, strap and bezel look amazing when you actually see the watch. My wrist is 7.25”
hello! Why is the bronze of this watch so different (shiny) from the bronze of the Glycine Airman 44mm? This Boldr looks like gold plastic and not bronze. Does anyone know why there is such a big difference in the appearance of the material of both?
Good question 👍 The bronze used by different manufacturers can use a different mix of materials on top of copper and tin, these include: zinc, iron, phosphorus, lead or aluminium, to create a distinctive colour tone. Interestingly, some brands are producing bronze watches that don’t patina at all by using certain mixes.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 🤝 Yes it is beautiful and the bronze works so well 👌 I actually prefer either Seiko or Citizen Miyota movements to any others as they have been the most accurate and reliable for me.
@@actionclips9066 no prob’s 👍 The power reserve is 41 hours, so it will keep running for 41 hours after you take it off your wrist, and then automatically charge again when you next wear it. It’s a good idea to give the crown about 40 turns when you first wear it and then give it about 20 turns each morning after that that you continue to wear it to keep the power topped up. You can’t overwind an automatic watch so don’t worry about that.
It wouldn’t be worth servicing or such, but as it’s a Seiko movement you’ll find it will last your lifetime. You do however have to replace the battery about every 3 years.
Thanks for your nice comments 🙏 I’m glad you like my review video. Please let us know if you decide to get this watch and how you find it. Best wishes 👍
I’m glad you enjoyed the video Ray 👍 this Venture Carbon Black still looks the same as in this video and has always run within a second fast a day. It’s been an excellent lightweight GADA watch ⌚️👌😎
Great review my friend. have to say that dial is very far out there! perhaps not my immediate cup of tea but the collaboration itself is very cool. Well done Dean!
Great review Dean. This watch somehow manages to carry off Diver, Sports and Fun all in one!! Brilliant 😊 Love the adjustable clasp too and the way the clasp , dial and caseback all tie in together with the DNA theme. So much thought has gone into this. Oh, and the two colour lume is genius!!
Thanks Andres 🤝 Yes I agree, it’s a great size and the brushed titanium is excellent. Yes, overall great specs! 🤓 I think there’s a bit of scientist in all of us! Or is that astronaut?👨🏻🔬👨🚀😉
Nice watch and review Dean, although it did give me flashbacks to o’level maths at school with that sliderule! It’s a unique feature though, and I wish BOLDR every success with the new model 👍😎😊
Thanks Martin 🤝 Yes, it’s great of BOLDR to bring out something different 🙌 I just missed slide rules at school - so have been enjoying learning the dark art! 🤓😆
Nice review. A very good iteration of the Boldr expedition. I don't know of any other watches that allow you to do this kind of calculation and conversion. Impressive.
Thanks for the support Andres 🙏 It's been a great watch, the new case and bracelet are really good - and I've really enjoyed learning how to use the slide rule! 😀
Great review!! Thinking of getting this watch, I've only used G shocks before and I am a little worried about the domed crystal being very delicate, since Ive never used a watch with a domed crystal before. I'm not very rough with my watches and have a normal desk job but just worried about accidentally grazing my hand against something and the crystal breaking. There is no Boldr service center in my country so it will be very tough for me to get it fixed if anything happens to it
Thanks for watching and your kind words Rushabh. The crystal is made from sapphire, so will be very tough and durable - and will look amazing as the domed shape will catch light in beautiful ways! If you like the look of the watch go for it, it’s one of my favourite BOLDR watches and even nicer looking in the metal than on photos or videos!
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I agree that it does look really good on the bracelet. I think BOLDR will sell the bracelet separately in the future, now they have a good range of Safari watches.
I think the Mediterranean will look really good on your wrist as it is 40mm diameter and 47mm lug to lug. I think go for it - it’s definitely one of my favourite BOLDR watches ⌚️👍
Thanks for watching again and taking the time to comment Martin 🙏🤝 This one is a little different and won’t appeal to everyone; however BOLDR made a really good job of it 👏🖤
I have the pfp voyager and it's a great watch. Doesn't get worn since i bought my seiko Alpinist Thailand version, but reallly cool watch. I also have a boldr field medic and can agree they're really good. My only annoyance is that the second hand is only for the chronograph. I would prefer to see a sweeping second hand all the time
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment Craig 🤝 I agree it really is a great watch. That Alpinist is a great watch too - I have the green SARB017 and really love it 💚 You can run the chronograph for the sweeping second hand when you want to see it. You can even synchronise it to the correct time 👌😎
Dial seems to be missing something, I can’t put my finger on it. The case shape looks a bit chunky on the profile. Taper the bracelet more? I think it’s a good watch but could be great with the next version.
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍 I think it’s down to personal taste: I’m not so keen on diver watches being too thin, nor having too much taper on the bracelet. But it is definitely popular for brands to do this - just as they are making watches smaller and smaller! So I do understand your thoughts on this. Take a look at BOLDR’s Safari watches they do wear a little thinner. I think with any watch dial even a small change can make a really big difference, like changing one or two of the words to orange font to match the tip of the second hand. But too much more can make a dial look too busy.
@@OnetoWatchI had the same concern regarding the Voyage's thickness so I followed your advice and checked out the Safari. I'm very pleased with the latter.
@@bkrinsky3719 thank you for taking the time to let us know this 👍 I think the Safari range are great watches at a very good price - and they do definitely wear really well. Enjoy your own Safari watch 😎🙌
Thanks for taking the time to comment 👍 I think black: canvas, rubber or leather would look good. It will be a good contrast with the colour of the dial.
Thanks for your support. I've just measured the watch with my digital caliper: it's exactly 14mm thick including the domed sapphire crystal; and without the crystal it's 12.5mm. I really like domed crystal and prefer to not count it as part of the thickness on a watch. This is a really great watch which wears really well.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🤝 I think the Safari watch case wears really well due to its size and shape. Best wishes with your own RU-vid channel - I like what you are doing on it 👍👏
Thanks Andres 🙏 yes the strap does look good, but I do like the bracelet best. BOLDR always put some cool artwork on the caseback, often with a sapphire display. This watch is a real hidden gem when you see it in the metal - I think you’d like it!👌😎
Thanks, I’m you enjoyed my review from about 3 years ago. I’m still enjoying the watch very much 🖤 wish you lots of great times with your own Venture Carbon Black 👍😎
Thanks for taking the time to let us know Ben 🙏 You can tell a great watch by how often you wear it! I still wear my Carbon Black regularly, after nearly 3 years of ownership!⌚️👌😎
