Censorship sucks. Music reflects the world and the world isnt a perfect and positive place. There is good and bad everywhere. Music and art must be an honest expression of the artist with no censorship. Otherwise its not real. Its only something thats "allowed to be created". Parents are the ones to blame for what their kids see and hear in the home not artist and musicians. I agree that some material should not be heard or viewed by minors. Anyone over 18 should have the right to buy any music they want or view nudity of adults. People need to stop blaming artist for being artist and start blaming parents who let their kids do anything they want at any age! Im a loyal and die hard metal head but i wouldnt let my 10 year old kid listen to death metal or x rated rap music. Its not meant for or appropriate for children. Music and art can be vulgar because the world is vulgar.. Its honest and should remain honest.
I think it is undeniable and beyond dispute that music conditions the spirit of the person who is listening. I listen to Rammstein, raubtier, criminal, and I see that there are people in the audience doing the Nazi salute and taking aggressive attitudes. they shave their heads, wear military boots and stuff. the most fanatical copy the attitudes, clothes and way of life of their idols. this is so. I think the important thing is they were having a respectful debate without demonizing each other. Regardless of which side you agree with we NEVER see that these days.
Rob is forever my hero. So extremely well spoken, respectful, and such a kind gentleman! He is incredibly articulate, I strive to have this kind of ability. He is so calm, with some of the words that lady was saying, I would’ve lost my marbles! What a class act! Its great to see him in this form of debate, greatest man in the world!
Love LOVE LOVE Rob Halford and I think he'd become more introspective after his departure from Judas Priest in the 1990's, but it's beneficial to keep in mind that this comes from a man who wrote "Eat Me Alive"... ... still it's a slippery slope when you start censorship of artists and when you do kids consider it forbidden fruit and just want it more. But ultimately as a parent and as a parent myself, you have to trust in your child and the moral lessons you tried to instil in them when they start to navigate the adult world as teens. Coming down on them self-righteously, ultimately suppresses and demeans them. You want to keep your kids from liking naughty songs ?... learn them and sing and dance to them around your kids and their friends ! Because: A... kids want to rebel and B... they want to feel inclusion. It's all part of them needing to find their own way in the real adult world and either they will see you and think this is extremely uncool or you will develop a separate part of THEIR lives to bond with them with and may see ways they may be emotionally vulnerable and possibly apt to run off the rails earlier.
Why don't they just admit they hate heavy metal music. Rappers take vulgarity and violence to a level metal never has. And yet, no one complains. It's a double standard.
I’ve been listening to heavy metal since my 14th birthday. Never did drugs never thought about killing myself or hurting others. I had friends never listened to Metal but turned out to be the most disturbed and full of suicide thoughts.

Music is subjective, we ALL hear it differently yet it brings us all together. Heavy Metal I've been listening to since Black Sabbath's first album. Never missed a Judas Priest tour since 79 to the Firepower tour. I'm an honorably discharged Army Veteran with 19 grandchildren. I still listen to the same Heavy Metal, so none of these so called experts know but 2 things. Jack and Shite, and Jack left town. Rob is the only real expert up there!. Comedy? Rob showed respect for the lady and let her say all her points yet when Rob spoke she didn't show him the same respect. Intelligent guy. A interesting chat, it's gone from bad to much worse in this avenue sadly and much more accessible through the internet and not physically having to buy music. Valid point but if you listen to Stained Class especially Beayond the Realms of death it does have a melancholy mesmerizong sound that could have an affect on impressionable drunk teenagers.
@@KB-th9jm were they ompressionable drunk teenagers? Music stirs up emotions doesn't it. So a song about dispair will have an affect. Why is this so hard to understand. I'm not saying the band is at fault but to say the music had no affect is stupid.
Music is an outlet, it saves lives, it makes life better and much less boring. Music is the most accesible and best form of popular art that has been my greatest friend in life. Without music all is left is horror movies. Enjoy music, enjoy life!
