Hello. I left my pumpkins ay natural. (Sealed ) this protects them. I didn’t use sand in making my pumpkins. The only time I washed in water was to sand the pumpkin I had put tumbled glass chips in .. I put pumpkin in water/sanded to allow glass pieces to show more. The pumpkins feel soft to touch in all relevancy to concrete. They are smooth. Thank you for watching my channel🥰
Very cool. I like the saw horse idea...IKEA actually sells saw horses for tables. They have several styles and colors. I have had a set of black IKEA saw horses for years.
Greetings! The pieces were left to dry a couple of hours. If you use rapid set cement you could remove pantyhose sooner. Thank you for watching my channel! Happy creating🥰
Hello and thank you! This one was freehand. However I brainstormed in my head my concept beforehand. In this case I treated my furniture like a blank canvas and processed it like I would a traditional painting on canvas vs. painting a piece of furniture. 😀
Tumbling to make sea glass. I really wish there was a process that made real sea glass. I’ve never seen diy/manmade sea glass that looks like the stuff we find on our local beaches. Nothing makes sea glass as good as ocean water, sand, and currents.
Greetings! There’s no competing with Mother Nature. It’s impossible to beat Her at her own game💕 so as artists and practitioners of sustainability we do our best to pitch in😊thank you for watching!
Hi Marcie. I just found you today, 8/23/2024. I love the way you present your subject matter. I love doing Mosaics, but I'm not very good at it. What I think my strong area in this art, is egg shell mosaics. The bigger things sort of intimidate me. But, thanks to you, I'm gonna try something with larger tesserae. I wish I knew how to download pictures on here, but my computer knowledge is very limited. I'm an old lady. When I was 16, my typing class got the first electric typewriters, so maybe that's why. I will watch more of your tutorials and I'm really glad I found you. Thanks so much and God bless you..
Hello and thank you for such a lovely message to wake up to! Yay 😀 happy you will give it a go. Google is a great source for How TOS. It will walk you thru steps in just about anything.lets see some pics girl when you have completed your mosaic. Excited for you! Appreciate you to the stars & beyond.💫🌟⭐️
Hi! Hmmm I don’t recall a fabric smell ever. I put them outside to photograph and after that in place so the really short answer is yes it goes away. Thank you for watching my channel.😀
Yes! For most folks you are doing them a favor taking pallets off their hands. Thank you for watching my channel! Appreciate you to the stars and beyond🥰
My dear; my pallets were from shipments of mulch bags from big box stores. They were free for me to use and dispose of as I pleased. Additionally, a few were from a neighbor redoing his floors and had shipments of tile delivered. Construction sites have pallets available for the asking… and yes they would be free. A bit of creative thinking outside the proverbial box … put it out to your neighborhood chat and let them know what you are looking for. Plenty of people will let you take their pallets off their hands.😀thx for watching my channel
Wow. Wow. Wow. How inspirational. I am planning to do this with a set of luggage that is brand new, but just not quite the right shade of red. Thank you so much for sharing this.
Greetings! I bought the paint from their website Heirloom Traditions which has a boatload of choices. It’s also available on Amazon! Thanks for watching my channel🥰
Greetings! Ty. The name of the 2 part product is apoxy. It comes in different sizes. I enjoy using their products. Below is a link to product amzn.to/4bxgzuY Thank you for watching my channel! Appreciate it!
Greetings! In the video how to I am using heirloom traditions all in one paint. This is a primer painter and topcoat all in one. I use their surface prep to de gloss, degrease and prep surface for painting. Thank you for watching my channel. I appreciate it.
I told the hubbie, I ran across a use for the discarded hoses. My parents were post depression and my mom tried to use every thing. It drives my husband nuts. I’ll have useful trash hidden. He finds and gets rid of it and if I’m lucky, I notice it and hide it somewhere different. His family obviously had more money than mine but we had more fun making things together. Janice.
You sound like my husband and me. He’s older, but I grew up poorer. Where he sees trash, I see use. I often shop the construction side of the dump. (Don’t worry, I worked construction, and I know how to be safe.) I have rehabbed parts of my 200 year old home with cast offs. People are too quick to throw anything away. I grabbed a weedeater from the dump. It looked too new to be there. My husband was afraid someone would see us. I took it home, took it apart, and realized the previous owner had crossed the wires. In twenty minutes, I had it running. My husband said, “Smarty,” and went into the house. Keep recycling all!
Hello, thank you for sharing. I love that color. I have a dark red-brown leather couch I got for free, it's old; I wanted to change the color to a lighter color like your chair; do you think it will be okay, if so how many coats do you think it would take? Thank you!
Greetings! I would recommend doing a test area in an inconspicuous area of your sofa. A darker color could take quite a few coats. Even for test area make sure you prep area then paint giving adequate time in between each layer of paint until you’ve reached desired opacity. Good luck in this project. 😊thank you for watching my channel.
Greetings! No. I didn’t use a topcoat. The paint I used was a three in one ; prime, paint and sealer. Heirloom Traditions & they say it’s not necessary. So, that said. Let’s go on to how they are holding up. We had a delightful dinner guest one evening who had tanning solution on her legs… we were dismayed the next day after seeing this because it would not come out of the newly painted chair. Additionally another guest had black jeans so we got a dye transfer on another chair. I didn’t have any more of this paint so I deglazed once again and used Angelus z leather paint. I mixed a bone gray and white to give a bit of tint and repainted all 6 stools. Then sealed with a matte topcoat by Angelus. So far it’s ok. We use these day in and day out. Fingers crossed. Thank you for watching. Side note to this; I would def run a test on any vinyl or pleather chairs first. I’ve used both products on real leather before with great results. The vinyl I’m not 💯🥰
Thanks for a great idea. Does this work as well for big plaastic pots, or is there a downside to it? How do they react to weather or are they for inside use only?
Greetings! Great questions. I used mortar mache so they could go outside. Same treatment on big or small plastic pots. I live in a sub tropical climate .. humidity, rain, lots of sun and heat. They are fine. In this moment I don’t have enough data on freezing temperatures / snow to guide you in this area. ( this fall I will) and can update. I’ll send a small planter to Chicago. Leave it out all winter. 🥰thank you for watching my channel. Appreciate it to the moon and back😀
Greetings! Thank you! I finished off the bottom edge by carefully trimming that area with sharp scissors. That’s it. Mss as me certain to brush glue on this area for extra security. Other thought was to run thicker diameter rope outer & inner so they face to face and trim it out. It looks really good wo anything more. Ty for watching my channel!
