It's funny but I literally finished the mission without getting bitten by a mole rat. It's funny but I'd say it's much easier on PC since console aim sucks ass.
I left the vault after Curie gave the cure and went to a settlement with dogmeat. Using the contraptions glitch and dogmeat I duplicated the cure. Went back to the Vault and gave it to The Dr to cure Austin. Now I have cured Austin and have extras for myself. Only problem is I've lost Curie (she left the vault when I did). There was no dialog option to make her a follower and console commands to placeatme result in any one of the three Curie options to be locked at spawn point with no responses to attempted conversations. Fixed this by getting the cure, then going to the Dr with Curie and no other companion. Exited the conversation Forscythe started without selecting any dialog. Curie then initiated the dialog to get her as a follower. After setting her as follower, went to settlement and did the dupe glitch with dogmeat, leaving her at the same settlement and picking her up again after dismissing dogmeat (no fast travel). Upon returning to 81 was able to give Austin the cure, keep some for myself, and get a boost of approval from Curie. This was done on updated PC steam version 7/24/2024
Still works now(July 2024): You can open the door(s) on top of the building first, than enter it from the south(after traveling). You will open the door short before door 1,2,3 decision. Next to Fallons Department Store is a stairway outside, you can enter it fast from there. You can deactivate the left flamethrower from outside, so you don't have to enter the left cell with power armor trick.
This still works as of June 8th, 2024. The trick is to put the left mouse stick turn away So he can’t take it from you. Drop it on the floor wait till it’s done and then take it. If this doesn’t make sense, read the comments. Almost gave up. Thank God it worked
It’s actually quite warm for a major part of the fall semester! It does get chillier towards December, but I am used to it since I live in the north east. It much colder during the early spring semester and stays quite chilly for the rest
Well, that was tedious.... Still good as of May '24, tho. I found it easier to do the left door first. Also, I got the "enemies nearby" thing, even though I'd taken out the turret. Must have just been something walking by, though, because it let my out when I tried again a bit later.
I wish this video could've been a little longer. Maybe next time record more settlement trips and raider fights while explaining how to open two doors.
Still works 12th May 2024 after next gen update!!! I got it on my first go using this method: 1 Select the dialogue "Give it to Austin", then push the left stick/movement keys until the camera cuts away from a closeup of Dr. Forsythe. 2 Turn the view away from Dr. Forsythe so the dialogue options disappear and the Pip-Boy becomes accessible. 3 Open the Pip-Boy, use the cure (or drop it), and exit, turning back to face Dr. Forsythe. I love this game! And thanks for the vid!
