I love the "no friends on a powder day" subtext that had me convinced one of those kids got forearm shivered into a tree well and you just cut it out of the video.
do you live out in steamboat? i moved away in 2017 and im thinking about going out in march now for the first time since i moved because they opened mahogany ridge; i used to hike that area when i was 12-17 (2012-2017) and it was the best snow ever
The tall flyovers to cross the Thunderhead Express and Burgess Creek are such that Wild Blue II is probably not for someone afraid of heights. Of course, I'm gondola-phobic in the sense that I'll avoid gondolas unless I have no choice, so if I were to go back to Steamboat, I'll probably stick to the slower chairlift route to get up to Sunshine Peak (Christie Peak Express, Thunderhead Express, and Sundown Express).
Wild Blue is Nice 👍 But The Biggest Skiing In America 🇺🇸 At Big Sky Resort In Montana Will Be Installing Also A 2 Stage Gondola 🚡 System A Identical Clone Of Yours As They Have Just Opened The Brand New Lone Peak Tram 🚠 A 75 Passenger Arial Tram. Keep Up With The Next Big Projects Coming To Big Sky Resort In Montana.👍🙏👏
@@EthanOates Too late to tell ya, but this dudes a troll with multiple accounts. He will make any comparison in the world to show off his home mountain in MT, and his real name is Paul Wanders. Just thought I'd let you know, hope you had a good time at Steamboat.
@@slitsre Don't ask. He clearly doesn't get that most resorts don't seek to be Big Sky. They build lifts to move people throughout the mountain, not for the gimmicks like heated seats and bubbles. Much as I wish Vail Resorts would build bubble lifts (the Beaver Run SuperChair being an example of a lift that could be upgraded to a bubble 6 pack).
@@EthanOates Ok So Your Resort Landed The Title As " North America Longest Gondola". Limiting Their Fame ONLY To North America. RIGHT. But Then If You Care To Now Look At BIG SKY RESORT Claim To FAME As They Totally Overtake Your North America Longest To The LONGEST IN THE WORLD For The LONGEST 8 PASSENGER CHAIRLIFT As Big Sky Just Announced Their Commencement To Their Valued Paying Guest To Replacing The Former Six Shooter Lift With Another Giant 8 PACK CHAIRLIFT Which WILL BE THE WORLDS LONGEST 8 PASSENGER CHAIRLIFT SUPRPASSING YOUR NORTH AMERICA LONGEST. So NOW This Is A Total Game Changer AGAIN For The REST Of North America Skiing Companies To Overtake BIG SKY RESORT. Which NOW BOOSTS: (2) BRAND NEW 75 Passenger Arial TRAMS, (2) 8 PACK Chairlifts D-Line, (3) D-Line 6 Pack Chairlifts Coming 25-26 2 Stage Gondola. So Ya I Would Say Big Sky Got EVERYONE BEAT!
@@EthanOates you're welcome. 1 question. I know there was mention based on 2019 in the video. Since it is 2023. Is the gondola fully constructed and working now?
what happened to the old gondola lodge at mid mountain? and wasn't this supposed to go to the peak??? new gondola doesn't make any sense. seems like they wasted money replacing something that didn't need to be replaced
So the old gondola is still there with the mid mountain lodge. They decided to ad another gondola that also houses green horn ranch learning center and tame ski school. Next year yes,the gondola will go to the top of sunshine peak and that should slow down the traffic for Steamboat gondola. It doesn't make too much sense right now just because it's not fully finished but when it is we will have a video. We will have a video soon about green horn ranch and everything about it
@@EthanOates ahhh okay. Thanks for explaining all of that. My comment was pretty shortsighted considering I didn’t read the description. Looking forward to your next video !
Nice review! Excited to get out there and check it out myself. Kind of bummed they changed the path of travel away from thunderhead. I proposed to my partner on the lower section of the old track, so I am partial. I have hesitated on bringing family to Steamboat because it was pretty much all blues out of the gate.. this setup makes a lot more sense from a safety standpoint.
