To quote The Twilight Zone; "This is not hatred. This is retribution. This is not revenge. This is justice. But this is only the beginning, captain. Only the beginning. Your final judgment will come from God." I bet Luz was thinking almost the exact same thing.

This show was really done dirty by Disney, but even if the ending was a bit rushed by necessity, it was still really satisfying for me.

Okay I have another comparison between belos and another character and that is stan from gravity falls. If you look at it both of them were close to their brothers and they wanted to be a team and go on adventures together. Then life threw them a curve ball. Caleb meeting and falling in love with evelyn and ford getting into his dream school and the machine. Both belos and stan became angry and ryined the brothers lives in some way. While stan dod feel guilty and tried to bring his brother back and atone for what happened belos just wants his brother back so he could be the center of attention and be the hero

Something I don't see people mention is that the extinction of palstrum trees is mostly caused by Belos. Sure it could be caused by the growing population and consumption of witches but Belos is a big contributor. As calculative as he is, he becomes short sighted when it comes to his addiction to plalisman. He consumed so much causing other witches to make more. I won't put it past him that he ordered to cut down many trees so he can create more palsiman to consume. I doubt he replanted any of the trees. Not to mention he created thousands Grim walkers which would need more wood. He has a lasting impact of the isles no only emotionally but environmentally.

Hunter didn't have anything to be redeemed for, he did learn, he did grow, he did have his eyes opened to the evil of a man he trusted But he never did anything that he himself had to be redeemed for

This is a fine analysis of Luz Noceda, as a sufferer myself I know the feeling of being alone, feeling invisible, that no one out there cares, but Luz does have people who care for her.

Dana knew what she was doing with Hunter. The whole crew put so much time into it, really making a fantastical world so relatable and connecting. I’ll always be a Disney kid, but I won’t forget that WHY TF DID THEY CANCEL THIS? I also find it hilarious that in S3 Dana said “What will you do? Cancel it more?” And went all out on everything that was restricted. I love hunters character, he’s just so well crafted and as a psychology student he’s such a good one to research and learn from.

Belos comparing himself to Eda by saying that his curse was what made him evil is the most disgusting lie he has ever told. Because of her curse, Eda broke up with Raine to protect them, hid herself away to keep others safe, and then learned to live with her curse fully. She was forgiven by her father, got her mother out of a bad situation, and reconciled with her sister. Belos killed his brother, killed innocent Palisman, and killed many Golden Guards before Hunter FINALLY broke the cycle and got free with the help of Flapjack, his Palisman who was there at the start with Caleb, and reunited with him after his death. Belos is not redeemable nor is he good. He is evil, and a monster.

I dont want to sound rude, i think your biases are influencing the video in a negative light since it harms its objective to critically analyze the character. Hunter' journey into becoming a better person is non existent since Hunter's redemption is influenced only by his traumatic experiences rather than a conscious effort to apologize or make reparations for his past behavior. There are majorly these important steps in writing that determine a character going through a redemption arc: *realization*, wich was when Belos told him he was going to kill him that Hunter magically understands that all of his plan was a lie. *Regret*, the only one i know of is when he was going to assign the characters palismen to Belos and not that other kids would get tortured in becoming part of the emperor's coven. *restitution*, throughout the series he never actively rebels against the emperor and or help the protagonist in any way. *reformation*, after all that happened he still blackmailed Luz into not revealing his backstory or he would reveal her friends that she helped Belos in the past. What an amazing person

I think Belos being killed by Eda, King, and Raine is actually perfect. While it would feel better to have him destroyed by Luz that wouldn't fit. She already stopped him and having him die to witches and not another human fits so much better. I also think those three specifically work well because of what they represent. Eda over came her curse and stayed true to herself despite the world constantly fighting her to fit in. While King found out more about his family and accepts who he is and also why his family "abandoned him". Eda and King signify two tests of character that Belos never passed. Fighting his "curse" which is his Hero Complex, and accepting his brother for the path that he chose. Raine has also spent a long time becoming a coven head just to fight Belos, but then he was caught and "forced" to follow the emperor which represents all the Witches of the Boiling Isles doing their best to fight Belos, but could only do so much because of how powerful he was and eventually succumbing to him. The 3 simultaneously show how Belos never learned to be a better person leading to his whole character arc, and all the Witches fighting against him. In the end, he was stopped by witches, the very people he tried to destroy. On top of that, Eda is probably a descendant of Evelyn and could be of Caleb too, and King is the son of the Boiling Isles. Being killed by two descendants of the people you wronged and the Titan's power you exploited(He is also legally related to Eda and therefore probably Evelyn too). Now that is full circle.

What makes Belos’ death so satisfying is HOW he died. Whenever a villain meets their end, they’ve either been shot, stabbed, drowned, eaten, blown up, or turned to dust. The only problem is that they happen so quickly. Belos’ demise was dragged out, and he suffered every second of it. As Luz stares daggers at him for pathetically attempting to manipulate her by appealing to her sympathy, the boiling rain comes pouring down on him, while Luz in her Titan form remains unharmed. Belos’ whole body begins to dissolve (ironically in the veins of the Wicked Witch of the West), reducing him to nothing but a pile of slime and bones. Then he has the nerve to claim that her letting him die makes her no better witches. And then in his final moments, all that’s left of him is his slimy skull, and Eda, King, and Raine furiously marched up to him and stomp all over him, guaranteeing that any remaining traces of his physical existence are completely gone. For 100s of years, Belos was determined to destroy all witchkind, but in an ironic twist of fate, it was witches that destroyed him.

If anything I think Any Sport in a storm should’ve been Boscha competing against Willow in flyer derby only to lose against her I think that would’ve helped Willows arc come to full circle and be able to redeem herself from the grudgby game, settling the score, and it could’ve been the episode where Willow and Boscha called a truce. I feel like it fits more to Willows arc narratively than what we got in for the future Though I think for that to work, the Lumity plot should be cut from the episode all together If there gonna have Boscha have a redemption arc, they should’ve done it within season 2 rather than close to the finale.

I don't think Belos could grow. If he grew as a person, if he came to see the witches and demons in a new light then Caleb would've been right. He would have killed his brother for nothing. I don't think Philip could handle this truth, it would utterly break him.

I think the trouble is that some people interpret ‘strong female character’ as ‘acts tough like a man’, when really I feel it should be, ‘uses her strengths to hold her own’. While Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice doesn’t punch and kick at Darcy, she holds her ground and defends herself and so is a strong character

11:55 and we also have to keep in mind, Philip probably sees himself as a martyr for this. Sacrificing his soul, his humanity, to protect the rest of human kind. And I mean I’ve heard people claim Philip is just making excuses and is pure evil but if you look at his interactions with luz, especially when trying to convince her to leave with him, he truly believes he’s saving her, and that witches are evil. I find that far more compelling than just “oh he’s evil and wants to destroy people just because”

@@golden-prism Personally, I think that if they were to have redeemed him or set him on a path of change it would NEED to start in the human realm. It’s the one place where he would be forced to confront how things have changed and that even the church would see him as monstrous. Also people seeing him as a monster would lead to some interesting scenarios imo.

@@boxman7044 Well, if Philip was redeemable, there would be very, very little chance of that happening, because literally everyone in the demon realm would hate him to death after finding out about the unit, he would be branded crazy when he went to the human realm and he would die for not being able to consume palisman.
@boxman7044
@boxman7044 5 месяцев назад
@@Hank_wimbleton_2002 there is no confirmation that he *needs* to eat palisman to survive that’s purely conjecture. And let’s be honest, if it happened in the human realm without him absorbing the titan, do you honestly believe with how fanatical his cult government was, that he wouldn’t have quite a few loyalists? The world is rarely so black and white, there are always those who remain devoted even when wronged. And considering how much luz wants to essentially be a Disney protagonist I could see her at least trying to find a place for Philip. And for him to be redeemed he would have to devote his life to repairing the damage he has caused, it would take a very long time for him to move on, and I doubt he’d forgive himself, because for him to be redeemed he’d have to change, he’d have to accept that the witches are innocent people, and considering his desire to be a hero it would crush him and his world view. I believe if they went the redemption path it would take a very careful approach to reasonably achieve.

@@boxman7044 If even in the last episode in season 3, Philip in his last seconds of life refused to change his way of thinking, what makes you believe he would change it if he were still alive? when it comes to kindness i lke how Luz and Amity started as enemies but deveoped to fall in love with each other because they are both flawed and they learned how to overcome those flaws and see beyond themselves and the Collector never trully was a bad person, his notion of reality was diferent because of him being an immortal being of the stars and he needed to learn loss to learn value, something Luz gave him when she died: someone so weak like a human saving a child of the stars and teaching him the value of life

In the finale, they stomp him to death and his remains are still there, and I wouldn't want one of his pieces to move, just like in Thanks to Them. So I'd say that he would have died in the Boiling Sea by getting dissolved to nothing, and his remains are gone.

Absolutely agree on the message and theming of kindness but I say it goes a step further. Mattholomule is also a perfect example of Luz extending her kindness to someone that is mean to her and Gus was ready to write him off as just a nuisance rather than give him a chance. As you said, helping only works when the other person wants it and Luz was the one to pull Matt out of that habit of being the way he was. In the looking glass graveyard we get a further look that he was never truly shown kindness and resigned himself to just being inferior while also giving the same thing he had been given to him at Glandus, mistreatment. It was only because of Luz and Gus extending some sort of kindness to him he actually changed and in a way was just being an unruly kid unable to ask for help from his peers.
