Not true unfortunately, boxes left on when taken to dealer will void engine warranty. Also VAG group and bmw and Mercedes can now look back and see if fuel pressure levels and turbo levels have been increased by a box in the past even if the box has been removed. Be informed!
This is stupid in my opinion I have 3 cars the run around has a tuning box it may only improve performance slightly but I'm not gonna spend loads on a proper map on something that's never gonna be fast any way, it's enough to improve keeping up with traffic ect, my jdm sti and punto gt turbo how ever have dyno time ect as being the cars they are makes sense to doit properly. But also your true tune won't be as good as a proper ecu map with dyno time, but for the run around Ide buy one, be interested to see a before and after installation gains on a dyno, see if that makes the claimed power figures.
If I purchase the trasdata master with all the protocols. will I still need to buy credits or tokens? Or willl I be good to to go until I want upgrades after the first year?
Good explanation of tuning boxes,I'm going in for a remap next week (aginst the advice of the tuner who's doing it😂) it's a high mileage 2005 Volvo s60 diesel 163bhp, he said if it cant be tuned without putting a communication wire on the PCB he wont do it because of the age of the ECU,there is a only one tuning box he'll use but it's more expensive than a remap.
Jeez, can you take any longer explaining something so simple! I think most people know how a tuning box works and if they don’t they shouldn’t be messing about with a stock car.
From your help and other reviews i am not purcgasing a TDI box. I got suspicious when i asked for a dyno chart and they said we dont fo that. Well how can you claim big gains without a dyno run.
You come across really bitter, banging on a out getting your hands dirty and if it's a cold day 😂, what are you talking about. The thing is you are losing loads of money to customers buying tuning boxes and your trying to rubbish the competition. You could have done this in a better and more professional way.
You talk about the torque limiter "issue" like it's a negative in a tuning box. Why do you think that torque limiter is there? It's to protect the components! If you're going to remap the ECU and overwrite the torque limiter then you're going to cause damage to the engine, clutch and gearbox.
Check out Bluespark Automotive. Their solution seems like it is the real deal! I have struggled to find negative comments, and have found countless dynos proving their results. Are you able to ECU Remap the new gen Ford V6 or the Amarok 2023V6 ? (Same ECU). Apparently the encryption on these ECU’s is impenetrable? I have been looking all over for an ECU remap on these vehicles and cannot find one which has been done.
I would guess it has zero extra hp. It's already highly tuned. No one is going to tune an N/a better than aston martin. They leave nothing on the table
Love this you said everything I needed to hear, I bought a tool new genius about 3/4 months back thought it was a good business opportunity which i know It really is, but my master oh god like honestly I bought a new car and I’m going to pay somebody else to tune it that’s bad for my business if anybody herd, 70-80% of the cars that have came to me so far we can’t do for some reason 🤦🏽♂️ gotten so bad that I don’t want to advertise anymore I’m afraid to, and I know if I ask my master he will try charge me or say no but I will try ask soon I need a new master maybe you guys could be the one, or a full master unlock so I can keep my customers happy and give them what they want when they want, not to get booked in and be told oh actually we can’t tune your car your ecu is locked but the guy up the road from us can
my 2020 peugeot expert 2.0l bluehdi with 180000miles of which 90% was motorway miles developed adblue, DPF, EGR fault at 120000miles, back and fourth to dealer, try this, try that, £1500 in diagnostics, no fix. refused a new adblue and PAT fluid reservoirs, refused new DPF, refused new dnox sesors, and EGR... had all of that junk deleted, had ECU remap and the van runs better than new... btw, Im the first and only owner, engine oil and filter was changed every 10k, air filter as soon as it got dirty and fuel filter every 30k... engine purrs like its new.
Please don’t tell me you are in favour of cars being so loud on the road to the point where I get a heart attack because I am literally very sensitive towards unbearable noise and I remember when I was 5 or 6 and there was seems to be a 3 series that probably had a hole in its exhaust and I was crossing the road and my heart was in beating shock and I felt trauma for that whole day of me being near the road and a few months ago there was an aggressive c63 driver with what seemed to be a hole in its exhaust manifold when I was walking home from the gym after destroying my muscles and my heart has in fucking attack and this isn’t a joke whatsoever And before you say uughghuhh you want to kill the fun of car enthusiasts little do you know I am a future taxpayer and future community provider and you are part of it and do you want it to cease to exist and if you want to make deafening levels of noise either do it on the countryside with no cyclists or go to a race track or a private stretch of road
DPF is just another smoke screen (pun intended) government money grab. The dpf/cats are bad for engines therefore bad for cars. A car that is designed to run like crap is a car that is designed to fail and be replaced with another expensive car to do the same. IF I had a dpf in my 2.2 I would remove and gut it, remap my car then at test time put in the cheap new dpf I bought and remap once more. Rinse and repeat that for the last 7 years and have a car that runs better than it should and legally passes mot. Or maybe I wouldnt, but I would.
Just fit an egt gauge and monitor your temps in all conditions. Tuning boxes are the best. If temps start rising depending on conditions on your EGT gauge just back off the pedal it's that simple. I can tell you now that the gains are real from a tuning box, it ups boost and fuel pressure and it really is no harm, all turbo diesels spike naturally anyway. You hardly think a guy that can remap your car for 300euros in an hour has gone over every nook and cranny....they are both the same thing. A remap is no different
Had diesels since 1992, not buying another one. My partners 2016 Ford 1.6 tdci has been great though, but she is always doing long trip. It's on 105K so due a new dpf.
