great job on this and thank you for sharing. Q- were you using Melodyn Essential or Studio to pull this off?
@ChrisAllenCombs
@ChrisAllenCombs Год назад
Thanks! Glad you liked the viddy! I am actually using Melodyne Editor (2020) which is the single track version of studio? You could probably just as easily do this with essentials as long as the tool set is the same.
@bryan_hiebert
@bryan_hiebert Год назад
Melodyne Editor vs. Melodyne Essentials: Melodyne Editor (currently priced $399.00) is a more advanced version of the software. It includes a number of features that are not available in Melodyne Essentials. One of the main differences between the two is that Melodyne Editor allows for more detailed editing of individual notes and pitches within a single track. This includes the ability to adjust the timing and pitch of individual notes, as well as more advanced features like polyphonic pitch editing and formant correction. Melodyne Essentials, on the other hand, is designed to provide basic pitch correction and tuning capabilities for a single track. While it does allow you to adjust the pitch and timing of notes, it does not offer the same level of detail or control as Melodyne Editor. That being said, Melodyne Essentials is still a powerful tool for basic pitch correction and tuning, and it may be sufficient for many users' needs. However, if you require more advanced editing capabilities, like in this video, you would need Melodyne Editor.

What do you mean when at 1:10 you say that you're gonna want to transfer the load from your amp head? I'm not that smart with this stuff and don't wanna blow anything up. Any help is appreciated. Killer sound btw!
@ChrisAllenCombs
@ChrisAllenCombs Год назад
As I understand it regarding tube amps like I have, The amp’s output needs to go somewhere and the speaker acts as a “load” that gives it a place to go. In the absence of this load, your amplifier is prone to damage. You might end blowing up your transformer

Please avoid the word "kid", it literally means goatoffspring, satanists worship the goat, it's a satanic psyop referring to GOAT of Mendes or BAPHOMET. Humans have CHILDREN. It's all about (mockery of) Scripture. Matthew 25:31-46: "But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the GOATS. ----------- Wouldn' t it be more logic if followers of Jesus Christ called their children LAMBS!? Updated with additional info!: The first use in the English language for “kid” as an identifier of a child is - “It was considered informal English by the mid-19th century and is now in common use. The kids' referred to when the word first referred to children were sold by criminals to sea captains who took them to British colonies as labourers or slaves. They were also youngsters enlisted by British sailors or soldiers.”

Hi there great video. So i have the same question, I want the amp to be totally quiet and get the neve quality DI. So Im looking at the Bugera PS1 Power Soak Box. Whats the signal flow to get my amp signal to protools keeping the cab totally quiet. Its a mesa boogie tube amp combo. Thank you.
@nvinceable17
@nvinceable17 3 месяца назад
If you want the amp to be completely quiet then what you really need is a reactive load box rather than an attenuator. With the RNDI set to SPEAKER mode, you would just take the speaker out of the amp head into the RNDI IN and take the RNDI THRU output into the reactive load box. The reactive load box completely replaces your speaker cab and the load it puts on your amp's output transformer, allowing for completely silent use of the amp head. An attenuator, on the other hand, is meant to be used when you still want to play through your real cab, just at a lower volume.

yes they are. I got rid of mine. Instantly regretted it. replaced with Apollo Twin X to down size and do some location stuff. I have a 1969 fender bassman head with only a "speaker" output and an "ext speaker" output. Would I plug this into my "ext speaker" while leaving my cab plugged in to the normal out?? your set up sounds great man.
@ChrisAllenCombs
@ChrisAllenCombs 4 года назад
thanks! Not sure about the bassman. To be on the safe side I would just plug head into RNDI and Thru to speaker cab. It seems the ext is parallel but not sure. I read where depending on the year the transformer inside the bassman could be negatively affected if you down load the ohms properly. Maybe read up on that. so, again I would just bassman to RNDI and then back into speakers.

Great tutorial, but you don't have Melodyne, there are several ways to convert audio to midi within Logic (directly or through automation). So what's the advantage of using Melodyne here?
@ChrisAllenCombs
@ChrisAllenCombs 4 года назад
When I made this video I was having issues with Flex pitch. Lots of crashes at the time when ever I tried to use it. Melodyne worked fine for me but I would say that flex time is probably easier to use. I haven't tried to do it any other way really. Please share if there is an easier way. Reducing steps in the name of creativity is always better for me :)

Can you do guitar strumming in midi files? I need to use in my styles that i create in cubase, to put in my korg pa4x. Can you help me? Thanks
@ChrisAllenCombs
@ChrisAllenCombs 4 года назад
Marco Filipe Músico not sure I fully understand. You can record a chord and sample it. I am sure you can map it to your Korg but I am not familiar with the process. I will say if you sample a chord you need to make it a neutral chord as in no sharps or flats. Mainly 1.5.1s. No 3rds or 7ths and so on. I use logic and it has an easy way to sample files and make presets out of it. You could also pickup acoustic strums from native instruments that sounds really good and has different chords and strum options. I refuse to use it though haha.

Ha, This is one of my all time favorite solos. Unfortunately not S-Gear. I used my pedal board (wah>Keeley Comp> TImmy pedal > Euphoria OD > El Capistan) into my Thomas tube amp miced with a Fathead. You could totally use S Gear though as long as you have a wah pedal. :)

How do I know where the output is on my amp. Is it an emulated output or a return output from the effects loop?
@ChrisAllenCombs
@ChrisAllenCombs 4 года назад
Christian Camargo I come out of my speaker output on my amp. It is my only option. I guess you could come out of the send on fx loop but that would most likely bypass the power tube section of amp which is part of the sound I believe you would essentially only be outputting the preamp section of the amp which may not be that satisfying. But I really don’t know that answer.
