Allestimanto scenico originale ma molto discutibile, preferibile quello tradizionale. Cecilia Bartoli è davvero straordinaria, confrontabile solo con la Callas. Ottima anche la voce di Abdrazakov, qui più basso buffo che baritono.
Sublime air, sublime Bartoli (qui n'avait pas besoin d'être grimée de cette manière outrancière... elle n'est pas la 1e femme à interpréter les rôles d'homme - contralto! Quel dommage, ce caprice de metteur.en sc ,qui distrait,et dérange le spectateur ! )
Vabbè che è un'opera comica, però che talentuosi cantanti vengano ridotti a insulsi pagliacci da circo di periferia è proprio disgustoso. È facile scendere, mentre salire...tanto varrebbe farla in forma di concerto
La regia sembra orientata a mettere in ridicolo gli italiani (maschi) che risultano coraggiosi solo nelle partite di calcio o nel gustare un buon piatto di spaghetti, il povero tenore, conciato come un figlio dei fiori, fa la parte del rincoglionito-zavorra mentre la Bartoli fa la lussuriosa massaia che si fa il giovanotto in barba al suo corteggiatore attempato: luoghi comuni conditi con cultura woke anti- patriarcato (ma del resto il libretto suggerisce un po di femminismo: tutti idioti tranne la primadonna). Vocalmente come sempre la Bartoli utilizza un fraseggio ben studiato ed è sempre originale nel porgere la verità del testo, ma viene il dubbio di qualche microfono ben posizionato per ovviare alla voce che, a quanto mi ricordi, è sempre stata piccolissima

1. La historia no puede ser adaptada para una puesta modernista, simplemente no va. 2. Bartoli hace lo que le da la gana con la partitura, y no en el buen sentido. Vaya timo. 3. Una cosa es una puesta modernista y otra una banda de sin techo.

Non so se si tratti di qualche difetto di microfonazione, ma l'orchestra a me sembra inascoltabile. Peccato, perché il cast è composto di vette mondiali.
I've always wondered about it: don't you thin Lurcanio is the ACTUAL HERO of this opera, really. He's the one that actually killed the villain. But then, right after that, Ariodante just appears out of blue, and sings one of the most glorious and celebrated Handel arias of them all. It just isn't FAIR. LOL I must mention, as a consolation, I LOVED Rolando Villazon's rendition of "Dopo notte" in his Handel aria album. Some of the greatest Handelian tenor singing I've heard. After all, it is the Baroque was the predecessor, "the parents", if you will, of Bel Canto. And as much as I love Bartoli, I don't think it's an ideal role for her. She's lacking masculinity in sound as well as in appearance. And in this Salzburg production, if I remember correctly, Ariodante actually "transitions", doesn't he. LOL
In spite of the needlessly generous length of that note at the end, I love Bartoli. But my goodness, if I ever payed money to see such staging I would've gotten pissed, a travesty!
Whilst I've heard this sung beautifully by Anna Hallenberg & Lea Desandre , there's something about this 'gutsy' performance by Cecila that makes it perfect for this aria 👏👏👌👌 tho there is something unsettlingly weird about watching a woman in a beard ( I hope it's false! ) singing this wonderfully! 😁
Someone acting through his hairline in an opera...Ildar is a godsend, just like Cecilia 😍. Has such a performance ever taken place ? OK, Maria and "Or rendetemi.."
