You could see the setup for this hours prior. That honestly makes it even funnier, the fact that he waited until Laura was distracted to pull this shit
This was one of my favourite things about Campaign 1. Sam just fucking trolling the entire group with a character that basically embodies all of the clichés and bad aspects of rest of the group. Aside from Grog, of course, because he's perfection.
Sometime I almost feel sorry for Matt but then I remember HE keeps coming back every week, which is a good thing. Just glad Liam got Sam to go the the game/birthday party for the start of this madness.
I don’t view this as particularly good RP. Tiberius started using terms that are game mechanics by mentioning sorcery points and rounds. He lost me at that point regarding this being more than wanting something as a player.
Most of it actually made complete sense, but everybody (including myself at first) thought it didn't make sense. she said "I don't know if you're alone. If you're not, and you're following us, clear your throat" This means that she is asking Astrid to clear their throat if they are NOT alone and they ARE following them, there's no contradiction there. The only confusing part was when she said "if you're not following us" at the very end
Can anyone explain to me what happened with Orion? As in how he was a bad player? I just finished campaign one. Before I jumped in, I did a fair amount of research about where to start with the show and came across many people advising to start around episode mid 20’s once he left, but I chose not to and started from episode 1. The entire time I was paying extra attention to his character to figure out why people disliked him and I was wholly unsuccessful. In fact, I genuinely missed his character once he was gone, and developed a rather unhealthy annoyance with the character of Keylith instead. Albeit, I listened to the show on Spotify while at work. Therefore I missed, entirely, the physicality of the show, which may have been a big portion of the audience’s disdain for him. I only learned how much you actually DO miss by only listening to the show when watching the campaign 1 wrap up on Talks Machina. In the wrap up they talked about scanlans 9th level spell situation, and because I only listened to the finale, I ENTIRELY missed it. I went back and watched that moment over and over and cried like a snotty baby. That emotion 100000% did not come through in the audio format. So who knows what else could have been left on the table for me.
Uh, let’s just say Orion had his own agenda for how he wanted the game to run? He did a lot of meta-gaming. And he made some inappropriate comments here and there. Things just didn’t work out. Obviously I posted this when the ep originally aired, I probably wouldn’t have if the fallout had already happened. Tibs was one of my favourite characters at the start. Shame!
Sam shut him down HARD by asking what’s for lunch, and then reiterated saying “that’s the end of the conversation” and then Matt had to shut him down again by breaking his chalkboard. And this was all still after he had been denied previously
Just listened to this session for the first time and I wanted to see the others' reactions. Of course, Laura is trying to be sad but can't stop laughing at Dallas and Kentucky over there. Liam and Taliesin are being stoic, as they always do during someone else's dialogue, but then Liam breaks and tears up. The only time I ever get all these emotions during a tabletop game is playing Scrabble.
