That is true. I just personally didn’t like the proportions of the long bed on the Tacoma. Also wanted something that would fit in my garage. Long bed wouldn’t fit.
Yes you are correct. Another viewer pointed it out as well. It’s somewhere here in comments land. I had inserted the wrong clip during editing. Rest assured the correct side was vacuumed. Good to see keen eyed viewers who know the direction of air flow! Thanks.
@@automatereviews Glad you cleared that up - I understand the filters can be cleaned a couple of times if you are careful - they may not cost that much to replace, but it is easy enough to vacuum them clean if they are in reasonably good shape 🙂
While the look is clean I have 3 issues with this. 1) The lens is not adjustable. There should be some ability to as I believe there is too much of the hood being show on the MDX version 2) No sound to identify that the unit has powered on. I believe some of the earlier models had issues just dying after a month of use which was resolved. If this stops working you might not notice that small dim LED which shows if it is on. Even then you have no idea if it is working 3) With no voice you won't know if there is an issues with the microSD card With these issues IMO I would say to get a Viofo over this. Yes it might not look as hidden but I prefer functionality and knowing my device works or has some sort of issues instead of coming into a situation of an accident and then not having the video which I would need.
All valid points. I still prefer this for its looks. But from the drivers seat I don’t know if it’s on or not. Rear view mirror blocks the light indicators. And as you mentioned no audible indicator. Room for future improvements. I honestly forget I have it sometimes. As far as it breaking, it’s still working for me. We will see long term.
Nooooo those are all awful positions shown here to carry your kayak! Especially the tailgate up one. Creating a single pivot point puts a lot of stress on the boat and could cause the boat to fracture, especially with cheap plastic or expensive composite boats. Get proper racks that are designed to carry a kayak or other boat securely. Where possible tie it down at the bow, stern and midship to keep it from turning into a boat missile. There’s lots of different options out there, but the methods in this video are most likely to cause damage to your boat. Disclaimer: I work for an outdoor retailer and these are my own opinions and do not reflect those of my company. Also, I am not responsible for anything you do to your boat. You tied it down, installed the racks, etc, it’s all on you to make an informed decision and follow the manufacturer instructions.
So far it’s held up. This is the first summer with it. I’m in MA. I know we haven’t been as hot as you guys but have had plenty of 90+ deg days. I’ve only put the weight of the phone on it. Haven’t tried to yank it off or anything. So so far it’s been good.
It feels fairly useless to me. Maybe there's some out there who find a use for it. Neutral in the instructions is probably there for those of us with a manual transmission.
It’s the same location but more extensive to get to the filter. I would recommend watching the video below for how to do it. Car care nut does fantastic videos. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gjGLG6jg-Mk.htmlsi=sZ9rIUToIAesk2UQ
As a toyota tacoma owner, i've never actually used it, but it looks like it's great to charge your phone so it pretty much sucks, Just like the transmission.
Excellent video. Straightforward demonstration of how and why to clean that filter. Cleaning or changing this filter, and changing the oil regularly, will keep your RAV4 running for many miles.
Looked at my 2015 Camry Hybrid filter a year or so back and it was surprisingly pristine in appearance. Differs from this vehicle and access is behind L rear seat cushion. RU-vid video for method. Worth checking every few years as it is not difficult to access.
With the air compressor, I tried to use a shop air compressor that’s a lot bigger than the one you had, and it would not power it so the smaller air compressors is what you want. And I also hooked up a 5 gallon shot vacuum and it barely powered it.😂
Yeah tell me about it. Good thing there is a filter. Does the wife clean her Rav: NOPE. Do the kids clean it: NOPE. Does the Dog clean back there and not shed a blanket worth of hair: NOPE. So stuck with this 💩 lol.
I have a tachoma too. I built a rack that sits over bed. Rack is strapped to bed, 2 kayaks are strapped to rack. I can take a 3rd kayak in bed. Works real well, but the tailgate is down. Not a big deal to me, but I see why you want tailgate up
I haven’t removed the phone mount so I don’t know how it looks underneath. It’s still holding strong. I just applied to the area I was applying the adhesive to. I would imagine there probably is some discoloration if I had to guess.
The Toyota RAV4 hybrid batter air filter is super easy to get to with it being located in passenger side rear seat you will see a vent there and clean using your household vacuum! I RU-vid it and very easy instructions
Vehicle was serviced regularly at Toyota with the provided 2 years and 24k free maintenance. And regular intervals afterwards. The only thing in the manual about this filter was to inspect if you idle or drive low speeds etc like police or taxi. I don’t so wanted to check it out either way. Glad I did.
Short bed can be "lengthened" by various means already described. Long bed cannot be shortened. Short bed fits in garage. Long bed has worse turning radius. Short bed easier to park. Long bed better for camping if you want to sleep in the back. I personally prefer shortbed overall but longbed does have some merits.
So far it’s been good. Hasn’t come off and the magnet holds strong. Never had my phone fall off. I’m in New England so we have a variety of temp swings. Made it through the winter so far. We will see how it goes with hotter temps.
That's not a lot of effort More of an effort to get on the computer and order it or drive to the parts house to get it BTW, that screw, snaps in, no need for a screwdriver on the install
I disagree. Filter was cleaned per Toyota recomendation. Filter looked good and no signs of damage. This filter is designed to prevent large particles from entering the battery area, not trap them say like an air intake filter. Filter did its job and cleaned off good. Next interval we will see if it needs replacement.
@@ky314 general condition such as any signs of rips, deformation, or if after cleaning can’t see any light through the filter (plugs). That would be my personal recommendation. But a new filter will always solve any of these if your concerned . I think because this filter is light duty, Toyota recommends cleaning it and replacing it only when needed.
I don’t mind the radar cruise control on the Taco. I think works pretty good overall. But this gen Tacoma is not a pleasant highway cruiser with the transmission tuning. Especially high winds and/or grades.
Oh man that sucks to hear. Mine was fixed under warranty and hasn’t broken again since. Make sure your dealer doesn’t try to screw you and make you pay. It’s happened to numerous 22 Tacomas.
