This would be really cool and I would buy 2 of them, but it's Aug 2024 and it's still on pre-order... As a consumer, I have been scammed way to many times now, so if you don't have a product, don't advertise...
The website for this product says that it will support macOS 12+ but in the FAQ section it says that it will support macOS 11+ which needs to be updated.
The elitism over 'proper' typing method is absurd and depressing in equal measure. Touch typing is simply typing without looking at the keyboard, and does not require 10-finger method to achieve, nor is 10-finger faster by default. It depends on the individual, and how their brain is wired. Touch typing is about being able to memorize a mental model of the keyboard and work with that. You don't need to see the keyboard or the screen showing what you are typing to not only be accurate, but also to notice when you've made mistakes. Home row is not the only method for that. You just need some form of physical reference to work off of. Literally the space bar or F key on their own can serve that purpose. Touch typing is 90% finding an orientation point and then building muscle memory based on that orientation point. The actual typing method has no relation to that. I personally use a method that involves 7-8 fingers and never had any issues with speed in a real-world scenario. If I go casually jump on monkeytype I'd expect to see it reporting out something in the vein of 70-80 on a lazy day. If I'm properly awake, focused, and alert, I''d expect to see 90-100. Stop trying to stroke your own egos by trying to break down others, or by trying to insist your method is better. What matters is function. I distinctly remember being put in remedial typing classes in middle school because a teacher threw a fit on seeing me not typing 'properly' only for the teacher in charge of the typing lessons to question why I was there when I was faster than the other students and some of the teachers even with my abnormal method. Nowadays I get more discomfort out of 10 finger than I ever would of my own method. I'm even more comfortable with my board offset to my left instead of directly centered in front of me (I am left handed, and grew up without much space on my 'desk' so I had to set it off to the left to fit mouse and keyboard both on the desk. I also still use the mouse right handed). I typed this entire comment (proceeding the point where I mention number of errors at the end here) without even looking at the screen or keyboard, not even for punctuation, and when going back over it before hitting post had a total of 7 errors.6 of those were not due to poor positioning or 'typing' errors, but brain errors from my train of thought outpacing my fingers and resulting in silliness like boar being typed out as baor. 10-finger doesn't solve that problem. Looking at the keyboard can help with it, but it isn't going to solve it.
I would like to see an ortholinear keyframe option added as well. It's a shame that this innovative keyboard only has classic keyframes to choose from.
RIP to all the homies that were scammed by the proorders. 🗿🗿 Prove me wrong, but not posting ANY sort of progress report on something that had so many eyes on it is unbelievable sus. Would NOT be surprized if the whole Flux YT channel just *disapeared* from our subscription box one day, all cheekily. A scam that would make the indians blush? Edit: ""just preorder bro, trust us"" Lmao
I need after effects, resolve, blender, cinema 4D, flame, and avid i see Photoshop, but this could be so good for vfx artist who have to learn multiple different softwares so much potential instead of me building multiple keyboards and painting each key
@@fluxkeyboard Ooo Quite daring, Chryosan would Love it if it were in a battleship, I can give a clue to make a battleship version of this XD would cost ALOT Also I would like to mention The Optimus Maximus seems like the grandfather precursor to this keyboard with the Oled Screens and what it wanted to accomplish
feels like a scam. like acrylics on lcd screen for concept.... why else is this taking so long to release if demo had a working product... because its fabricated?
Hi, we are currently working on manufacturing the Flux Keyboard. We send monthly updates on manufacturing to our Kickstarter backers and pre-order customers. An estimated delivery date of Sep 2024 is given when you click pre-order on our website. Hope this helps
@@fluxkeyboard Oh it helps, but maybe not in the way you think. While you might be giving updates on Kickstarter, I cannot see them because I don't back vaporware. What I can see however are the comments! None of them are painting this company or your alleged keyboard in a positive light. The hits? No pictures of a final product. While delays happen in a lot of kickstarter projects they have at least release candidates to showcase. Can you even get an engineering sample to any reviewer out there? Can you have ANY public communication to get people ready for this "game changing" keyboard? Weird. You want to say that it's coming out but everything we see outside and within paywalls says this is something that will never happen. Until you are willing to be even the least bit open. Post a video about release candidates? Well, then this and you are a fraud. Refund everyone now!
