Cheers Fir! The tree company before removed a lot of internal branches on a species that naturally grows long branches and stems, so some of the limb walking was a bit tricky. Me & my friend removed an 8 x 5 trailer load of branches. Look forward to your next clip geeza. Peace!
seems like the Stihl elec saw has more rpm control and gives a finer cut than my echo elect saw, its very aggressive 3/8 chain and its either full rpm or nothing.
The MSA 220 T has been great so far. My petrol top handles never come out anymore. The MSA 161 T is great for fine pruning with a 10" bar. I will check out the Echo....
@@lloydlisk6947 unfortunately the tree company before lions tail the stem. The pruning in the footage was to remove distal loading and reduce mechanical stress on the stem over the pool.
Hey Dunc interesting job, not like your usual work. What did the tree look like after a good short back and sides! Climb safe Sono cheers Old Man Eflow ⚒️ if England progress in the Euros 🏴 we will have to catch up Dude 😎
G'day Mr Wolfe! Thanks for tuning in geeza. The tree looked mint post tree surgery, we took out heaps of major dead wood, I showed approximately 15% on the video. The tree surgery was on a big estate up in the hills. You read my mind, I was going to message you regarding the Euro Cup, a catch up would be great! Enjoy your week ahead. X
Yo bro! Cheers for the comment. My 14" bar was too small, so the next size up was the 25" haha, I love the MS660. Enjoy your climbing week ahead, look forward to your next video.
Love how methodical you are, could you maybe do a future video showing how you move through a wide, vertical, multi lead canopy without spikes? Always looking to learn. Thanks mate
Thank you sir! I will try and get something together regarding tree climber techniques & movements within a big broad canopy. I usually find myself 50/50, so climbing the tree and using my ropes. Cheers!
I second that request above…. I’m always looking for better ways to move throughout the canopy. So let’s get a video of that! Technique from setting line to final decent. What do ya say pal.
Really like your videos. I noticed at the 9:56 sec mark you passed your main climbing line twice thru the carabiner. First time I have seen this. Is there a reason why you do this. Thanks.
Hey mate, I was waiting for someone to ask that question. Back in the day I was doing a lot of competition climbing and got to National level and was hoping to get in to the world tree climbing competition level, at the time one of the contract climbers / ranked number one in Australia did a tree surgery video and I saw him do it and started using it to prevent the karabiner being side loaded against the stem when I could avoid it. I hope this make sense. Cheers for the comment!
Hey boys. Northern California here. Just found your channel. I am a retired deputy sheriff and retired climber as well. But I still do tree work part time. Working on a BIG red oak the exploded late last night. Banged so hard it woke up the neighbors up and down the street.🤣😂🤣 Anyway, keep the videos coming and safe climbing from the USA. 🇺🇸
Hey mate! Thanks for tuning in! Sweet, Northern California. WOW! It must be a big Oak tree, how did you go dismantling the beast? Awesome, ex deputy sheriff, I do enjoy watching hectic RU-vid videos in the USA. Take care mate!
Winner, I’m a subby over here in the UK who’s just applying for a visa to come and work for a company in Perth. I’ll be consuming all your content trying to get a picture of what is like over there. Thanks
Congratulations bro! No worries, feel free to ask any questions about the Arboricultural industry here in Perth Western Australia. If you don't mind me asking....which company are you going to be working for?
@@richardhollis2530 Kennedy's Tree Service are a big company. I see the trucks everywhere around Perth. I think they have a lot of big government contracts, so local government tree care in parks and street verges, plus residential. They are based along a main highway and five minutes down the road is another big company that specialises in root & canopy care called Arbor Centre. I did my apprenticeship with Classic Tree Services 15 years ago. Classic Tree Services & Arbor Centre always have UK climbers on board, so at least you have a couple of back ups.
Hey Dude bet you were knackered after this one 👊 Timo looks a Wineo! Libs is following you now, she is well impressed. Climb safe Sono Old Man Eflow ⚒️
Hey Eflow! I was pretty good after this climb and even better after a few beers. Haha, I know Tim enjoys Heineken. Tim is Step fathers ex business partner, he is a great Horticulturist. Awesome, Lib sent me a picture of Olivia watching one of my videos. Cheers for tuning in!
Hey bro! Thanks mate, a bit of a mission in the wet. I love contract climbing for bigger businesses, it keeps me socialising or I go in to hermit mode, plus it is nice not always solo rigging and avoiding the triangle of death. You inspired me to do more solo rigging back in the day.
Wow, amazing job! 🌳 It's impressive to see such skill and precision in deadwooding an Eucalyptus gomphocephala, especially in the rain. Safety first always! Your dedication to proper techniques and safety measures, even in challenging weather conditions, is a sign of a great climber. 💪🧗♂ Keep climbing, keep growing, and keep shining bright, my friends
Thank you sir! The big Tuart trees are a real challenge especially in the wet. Discipline is crucial in the climbing game as you know. It is a meditation, focus, tuning in to your body & mind. Thanks again for the comment. I will check out your channel. Peace!
Hey Dude a lot of work in that tree. I reckon day three was 2 long necks and four Kitkats 👊 Sign writing looks mint. You need to take me on 1-2 days a week, I want to learn new shit 🙈 and take the pressure off your body Sono. Climb safe Old Man Eflow ⚒️
Hey old school legend! Hope you enjoyed the builder boy barrow action in the video. Cheers mate, the logo looks good on the modern ute. We should do a video together one day when the weather starts to warm up. Thanks for watching. Lone Wolfe!
Haha, there was a international bottle shop up the road from the job, so I grabbed a roadie after each day. I went to the local cafe and grabbed some home baked goods to keep me going.
@@ArcaneArborWolfe Yeah that was a tight space for sure ... I like that you showed the wheel barrows and clean up at the end: a key part of a job like that and a ton of work. good stuff
@@metaspencer Appreciate the feed back. You understand the sufferfest of being a solo operator, some days are great and others can be a bit too hectic. Look forward to your next video!
@@ArcaneArborWolfetriangle of death? Is that solo rigging with one end tied off then through a crab/ring/pulley/porta wrap and hold it while cutting or tied off to stub/branch? I’ve never tried the method in the video on my own but I like it
@@ArcaneArborWolfemore questions! Do you do short days because it gets so dam hot? And do you know of any laws preventing you from climbing and cutting on your own or is it an owner, operator thing where the risk is up to you? I’ve done quite often in uk and think there is laws against it just might be difficult to claim if I hurt myself
I'm fascinated that the undercut being further from the trunk than the uppercut is working with that tree. If I do that here, the undercut does absolutely nothing and the base of the limb splits and peels like a banana as the limb falls with the undercut falling too. Trees in my area (in the 45°N, 75°W box) must be undercut closer to the trunk and the upper cut further out.
Are you working on Conifers? The climbing institutions teach the climber to put the back cut towards the stem to prevent the climbing saw getting captured in the fibres and taking the saw down with the portion cut. 80% of the trees I am working on in Australia are Eucalyptus or Corymbia, so they have short fibre tissue compared to your northern hemisphere trees.
Thanks mate! I would usually span / V rig the whole head out, but I didn't want to shock load the branch my redirect climbing line was on and rigging, so I thought static rigging would be best. I will check out your channel. Peace!
@@MattGlynn No worries bro! Your videos are great. I am originally from East Sussex Brighton UK, but I did my arborist apprenticeship in Australia, so climbing 90% of the time in brutal heat haha.
Good moring, thanks Eflow! The footage along the driveway was good fun to film. The old boy in the video reminded me of Bruce. Cheers for the support! Enjoy your weekend.
Nice job! That was a lot of work for a one man job. I work for myself some weekends mainly pruning ornamental trees. Beautiful footage, stay safe brother!! cheers!!!
Thanks bro! Haha, I was pretty tired after this one. Nice, fine pruning can be really rewarding. I will watch your new video over the weekend, I like the thumbnail. Peace!
Hello! Yeah, the last cut / rig was with the 120KG Rigging Wrench. I was holding the section with one hand, plus the span rigging helped, so it was really lightweight. I find the Marlow Draco 12mm rigging line works great with the Rigging Wrench.
Spanning it up is so much fun when you are in the right head space. I have taken on some big trees in Australia, but only if the span is favourable. Thanks for tuning in!
Good morning Eflow! Welcome back mate. Haha, yeah the home owner was a nice fellow. I am heading back there for more work in the near future. Thanks for tuning in!
Well done bro! Nice shot on the tie in point! I’ve worked on palm trees in the past but we never use them for mulch(I think because of aesthetics). Do the fronds decompose easily? By the way I love that chipper, it’s powerful and compact. Cheers!
Hey Fermin! Cheers mate! It was a bit tricky to access the Palm. The Palm mulch is not great, to keep the cost down I mulched it in to the garden bed and the home owner is going to put the palm mulch in his green bin (local government pick up once a week). Haha, my wood chipper is a little beast. Take care bro!
Thanks mate! I went a bit too big on the first Elm tree rig, but everything came down smoothly. I am looking forward to some new climbings video from your channel, it is freshing the way you film & talk. Cheers Wolfe!
@@ArcaneArborWolfe Thanks brother! It’s been a bit busy here for us so I haven’t uploaded as often , appreciate your support and feedback. It’s been refreshing watching your videos. You’re doing great work, I like your approach on pruning. Keep the content coming!!!!!
Hey Dunc great filming, tricky little tidy up 👊Does the Boss buy the coffee for his no one climber! See you later Dude down South, Jack Russells are looking forward to it 🐶 Old man Eflow 😎⚒️
Hey curiouserandcuriouser5554! Cheers for watching the clip. The rural bush block is great up in the hills, hidden away from the freak show. Enjoy your weekend and stove top coffee! Tip of the day.....don't over compact the coffee in the stove top.
Hello! Thanks for watching! Haha, pavers all good, calculated short cut to speed up the stem removal. The job was filmed last week, it was so hot in the valley, plus the GoPro over heated. X
