Devo mocked consumerism by using its own marketing tactics against it; profiting themselves by using the same consumer Advertising and Trademark imagery to jeer at it. Mockery of Consumerism is the essence of Punk; reflecting the opinion of we, the Social Outcasts, of the Status Quo of Consumerism. Punk proves that we Nerds can, after all, ROCK!🤓🎸📸👢💄👜🛍🚘💳💰

I saw these guys live in Memphis this year, and holy fuck it was great. These guys are a couple of the greatest musicians of all time, and to watch this is actually affirming and gratifying, to know that you can actually start out like this and become Ween, just by simply giving a fuck while not giving a fuck. I'm kidding, of course, you can not give a fuck while you give a fuck all you want, you'll never be Ween. Their secret is in the sauce
I don't care much for punk rock, but I do like this cutting edge thousand year leap in musical genius. Devo is one of the most brilliant musical groups of the century. Right up there with The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and anybody else that might want to challenge them.
I loved it- although luck showed up at concerts- I saw some crazy stuff- but as you see by this video- there is MUCH more to DEVO than just labeling them puck- that’s a misgendering of a way advanced group that should be haraled as pioneers into a new age of music that we haven’t even gotten to yet- masters of their craft👍🏻😁
Great show. Thanks for posting. BUT WHY? Why didn't they play a single song from Rise to Your Knees? If I'm not wrong that would be the album they were promoting according to the show date. That album is a masterpiece to me. Killer sonic texture. It's like all of their albums thrown into a blender. The perfect mix. Is this album not well regarded by most?
