I love black eyed peas !!! Knock on wood i have not had bottom rot on tomatoes, but i have heard that is you pick them as there start to turn red, take them inside and turn them stem end down they will still ripen very nicely , dont know if that is true but maybe someone else know more on this.
My garden started out fantastic but then due to a few health reasons things just got lost in getting it done. Put up some green and yellow beans. Put up some potatoes and a few sweet potatoes. Beets are coming along better than any year that I planted them. The weather here in Pa has been unreal. Spring was too much rain when things got washed out 3 times. Then tornados rolling through. We almost never get those here. Now the 90 degree heat is here. Well we don't get too many days of them but not this year. Watering sometimes three times a day and I have a well. But getting some things. Thanks for garden tour. Take care.
Love your weedless garden. I fight weeds all season long plus trying to keep the Bermuda grass out. What thickness and brand is your weed fabric barrier?
I had about 10 lbs of sweet potatoes and thought about water bath canning them. Asked the Internet and you came up. Somehow I missed this last year. I canned potatoes from the recipe that Makeitmake did. And I also saw that you done this recipe also. I really didn't want to do the pressure canner method this year. Glad you made this video. Thanks.
Every time i have Pressure canned beans they tasted strong. And i 18:13 stopped caning for that and other reasons. I'm 78 and had water bath canner that was tall with two racks . Put water in the bottom, put the filled jars on the racks and let cook for about 3 hours. I plan to water bath this summers beans. Thanks for the info ❤
Hi MS.MICHELLE, LOVE YOU'RE YOU TUBE CHANNEL. I WANTED TO ASK ON THE Pototoes, i want to grow but i have no knowledge at all, i want a small garden, but no knowledge on howcto grow anything, and water bath , the potatoes, do you chop up and riesn, ? Please help on advice. Thfs.
We just canned ours but we only counted for 30mins after boil. Has anyone else done them for 30 mins. We did that growing up . Good thing to watch hope mine was cooked long enough
Some people have told me it’s better to pressure can them . I don’t understand why really but they they wouldn’t approved by FDA . So now I not sure how to do them . If you could tell me why that would be great . Thanks
Thank you it makes more sense to me using the water bath . A good pressure cooker is very expressive and to me it does the exact same thing . So I’m going to try it .Thanks for responding ❤️
I laughted at your statement "family is alive, didn't die!" I have been waterbath canning for years too, we are alive too! Waterbath canning was around long before pressure canning ever existed. Alot of people don't realize that.
Just prior to the civil war it was discovered that boiling anything for five hours they would last indefinitely. Not too many years after that it was discovered that pressure canning was faster and more economical (not necessarily safer). The laws exist more to benefit food companies rather than us.
Thank you for your videos. They help me a lot. I have a lot of bell peppers, and I want to waterbath them in just water. What would be tge time frame for them.
I'm doing great with my herb garden. All in containers. Blackberries are going crazy. Planted cucumbers and snap beans. Good luck on your growing. And I love your garden. Take care from southern Texas.
I live between 2 mountains and sometimes the storms look like we are going to get hit hard, but then they come to that first mountain and break apart. We are expecting thunderstorms every day this week.
Just because something has been done for centuries doesn't mean its right. There is a science behind why you should always pressure can meat versus water bathing. And other countries, like austrailia say water bathing meat is a no-go.
