Great work and ingenuity! I used a hammock as my bed for almost two years in Panama. I was in my twenties. Not sure I could do that now that I am almost 80!😂😂😂But, I still LOVE my hammock time! Happy floating!
Look forward to meeting up one day in Cota., My husband and I have been going to Cota every year, have met many great people, expats and locals. We are in the process of getting there on a more permanent basis! We love to stay in La Calera with the Indigenous people. Most are soo accepting and friendly. We want to become a positive part of the community! Anyway, perhaps we will see you around one day soon!

I love all Your Videos. I just found you guys. Cotacachi is at the top of my list. However, the Olon area as well. As its on the Coast and very interested in that. Thank You for Showing Cotacachi. Is there any way you can go into detail about finding rentals in Cotacachi, and general pricing for something nice, but on the smaller side. I do also have a pet Cat.
Hi Sherrie! There are nice places to rent in Cotacachi from $300 for unfurnished apartments to $1000 for massive furnished houses. Houses are the hardest to find everywhere we have been BTW.
Ecuador can be threatening sometimes, even more without knowing your way around. Then turns out that it has wonderful places and stories to offer. It's great to know you're feeling welcomed in a cozy place you can call home . =)
How's the visa situation there. Im currently living in Nicaragua and after 90 days you need to go to immigration and pay for 30 more days and your allowed to do that 3 times. Then you have to do a border run to Costa Rica every 6 months. Please could you explain yours in Ecuador 😊
Hi Walter! I believe your question may be from a different position than we have. We always planned to become Ecuador permanent residents. When we moved here we started a temporary resident visa which lasted 2 years. During that time we could not be out of Ecuador for more than 90 days. We have since converted to permanent residents. We never wanted to be moving around every 90 days or something similar. If this is not answering your question please rephrase and we will try again ✌️

Guys I love your LIFE !!!!!!! My wife & I live in NW. Indiana Close to Chicago . My wife is Colombian & we might try to hang in Equador during the winter months then return for spring & Summer. I love your Dog ..Your dog resembles ours, we have a mini Golden doodle.
Thanks, very funny because it;;s true! I live in Sangolqui Ecuador near Quito. I have traveled back and forth from the states to here 5 times since 2000 and experienced lots of culture shock. Things have changed Greatly during that time ( better selection of cheese ) Hang in there, the pro´s outway the con´s. We recently went back to the states for a visit and I had major culture shock with the high price of EVERYTHING!!! Helped me appriciate Ecuador more!

I agree about renting kind of sucks. We moved to Ecuador and rented a house. It was ok, but now that I am in my own house, I just really appreciate the liberation from having a Landlord .
So nice of a surprise to see you guys pop up again. I’m headed to Praia de pipa, Brazil for 2 months and 2 months in the Andes of Argentina starting in Mendoza. I loved seeing many of the cities in the Ecuadoran Andes in January 2024 but want to see more of South America.
Thank you so much for sharing and, 3 years is a good milestone.. I'm sure you'll keep making it in beautiful Ecuador which may have some issues but, compared to the majority of the mindsets in the northern hemisphere, Ecuador must be close to heaven 🌹🌹🌹

Decided to move to Spain (for now) instead of Ecuador, but i still love your videos! I spent a couple of weeks in Cotacachi in March 2022 and I loved it. Especially Cafe Rio Intag for coffee!
I agree RENTING SUX. And that is why I have not taken the leap into moving to another country. My house is paid for. I rented 4 months last year when I was transitioning from one area to another, and it was a nice place, but the rules, the noises, the limits.. I hated it. Maybe renting a house would be different, but if you have owned a home for a long time, living in an apartment is quite a shock. Having said all that, I don't want to be where I have to buy a car. So is there an option for living somewhere quiet, yet able to shop for food and things without a car?
