Was there nearly 20 years ago haha. Former Alpha 35th OSUT May-August 2000. Never wore the black berets, still think the old overseas 'napkin' covers and OD Class A's are distinctly American GI but we live in a global world today I guess. I've read that the Army is thinking of going back to the WW2 'Ike' style short cut khaki dress uniform which would be awesome.
Yup I'm looking forward for the "pink and green" which suit the theme of the Army green more than the current blue which makes us look like a marching band whenever we march.
@@ryannguyen7466 So is Alpha 35th still the 'Assassins'? We were billeted in the old, non-air conditioned brick buildings during the summer of 2000. Never forget Drill Sergeant Graham letting us open our windows "2 ID card lengths" instead of 1 "because it's hot and I have a kind heart". We got smoked one morning for our windows not being 'dress right dress.' We had these huge fans in each room that did help but mainly the hum lulled us to sleep-and also blew the endless dust bunnies everywhere.
