Free Charging Scam I attended the Chicago Auto Show Feb. 2024. I was totally impressed with the electric cars. I really liked the Ford Mustang "Mach E". Best styling and the front screen was the best. Feb 23 2024 I set out car shopping. I stopped in my local dealer in Michigan City, Indiana. A couple of things did not impress me. So I left. I drove to Merrillville, Indiana. I met Gregory Lollis. He impressed me. We had good conversation about the Mustang Mach E. We talked several hours about the Mustang. He impressed me as being an honest person. He did not immediate try to hard sell me. We drove the car about a mile maybe a bit more. Then we sat down to talk sales. I drove there in a 2020 Toyota Priuse Hibrid. Very good shape. The starting price was $52,+++. With my trade in and discounts we were at $32,+++. Greg mentioned they have a payment plan with "0" interest for 5 years. Then we talked about charging the Mustang. He said I could charge at any Ford dealership. He also mentioned there are charging stations all around and they are listed in the on screen information panel in the car. Then he knocked the wind out of me. He told me that Ford has FREE charging of my Mustang for "3" years. He told me about the warranty and service plan. That is when we talked price. I purchased the Mustang. he said it would take about 1 hour to prep the Mustang. He had me fill in all the paper work. I asked if they accepted personal checks. He asked Why? He showed me the payments were exactly $32,+++ divided by 72 months. "0" interest. I signed the load paper. It never occurred to me to have him show me the charging process. I am old hat and know how to pump gas. He did show me the charging assess on the car. He also showed me the home charging unit in its case. We again talked about how and where I have access to charging. It would be free for "3" years. He did mentioned the "3" year was not available at private charging stations. All free accessible stations was on the car's information and travel display. I was happy as a Lark driving home. Very beautiful ride. I did not Hot Rod my drive. I just really cursed along the highway and roads to my house. When I got home. I had 70% charge available. I am 80+ years old. I was exhausted. I sat down and fell asleep. Saturday I needed to stop in my bank and obtain the Prius title. But the high school and a computer tech session. My computer problems needed several hours to correct, past 12:00 pm. Bank closed. Monday I needed a full charge. Saturday late. I stopped in my local Ford dealer. I pulled up to the charging station. I needed a "QR code" charge my car. Again I do not own a Cell Phone. Gregory never mention needing a Cell Phone. At home I plunged in the home charger 120 V outlet. I was at 25%. 9:06 pm. At 6:07 am I checked the charge status 40%. At 4:57 pm 52%.
The turbo 4cylinder offered in the base Mustang is garbage. Yes, it has over 300 HP but only because Ford has the turbo boost turned up so high the motor comes apart. I have been warned about buying one of these by a couple of experienced Ford factory mechanics along with several Ford racers with factory connections .My wife owns a 2004 and 2011 Mustang both with the v6 motor and never had a issue. We were looking to buy a 2024 stang but every time i ask the dealers about engine warranty and maybe extended warrantees the sales people stop talking!
