Thank you for this review. I'm going to be really controversial here, but I really liked Alien Resurrection. Maybe because I'm from France and I was so buzzed about having a French movie maker producing an Alien movie, but Jean-Pierre Jeunet is one of my favourite movie makers. He worked a lot of his signature tropes into it, it makes sense if you are familiar with his work, but does really break from the rest of the series so I get why many were weirded out by it. My favourite movie of his is "The city of lost children" a steampunk movie that also stared Ron Perlman, and I can't recommend it enough. anyway... thanks for the video have a nice one ;)
Hell yeah dude! We love having fun obscure preferences! My favorite movie of all time is Tron: Legacy so I got no room to judge you on resurrection. Thanks for the recommendation! I love rom perlman and steam punk so I'll check that out!!
@RonnieFromJerseyShore hell yeah man! That's kinda like what Cold War is for me. It came out my freshman year of college and I played the shit out of that game
Haha it's not like I did something brave. I just like discussing things I like and wanted to see what others thought! I'm happy your liked the season though! What was your favorite part?
Glad I found another one who appreciates this season, the ones who hate it are so loud and their opinions are sometimes slander to the people behind this show and the actors. There are also people who already decided they will hate this season since the S3 lead announcement (that was 2 years ago) so don't mind them. I love that even though you didn't like Penelope that much in the last 2 seasons you're open to seeing the character developments when those haters kept on insisting that Penelope didn't feel guilt throughout the season, I think they just fast-forward the show then yap online.
I'm happy you brought up my opinions on Pen! It was one of the most interesting parts of the season to me. I honestly didn't think it was possible to pull me onto her side, but now I'm excited to see what her character does! And the majority of comments on this video are in praise of the season! Feel free to look over them and join those discussions too!
It was by far the most joyful season for me. I need help understanding the criticism of the romance happening too fast. It's been 3 seasons in the making. If you watch the first two seasons back, the signs that Colin felt more for Penelope were always there, and he confirmed it this season on a couple of separate occasions. Luke himself said those moments were played that way on purpose too. The issue people have with this season is that it has more nuance than other seasons. It requires you to remember past seasons, character motivations, their trauma...Not everything is spelled out for the audience the way it is in the books (terrible btw) and previous seasons. Colin in particular is a very internal character so if you don't pay attention to him and the acting choices Luke Newton makes, you'll never understand his motivations.
I felt in a similar way! I do completely understand how people don't like it, however. If you're passionate about something and it doesn't turn out the way you want or expect, then it'll feel really bad. I did really love the season tho. I went to film school, and I felt like this season was the most rewarding as an art film focused person (ik that sounds cringe as hell haha). Is this your favorite season so far?
@@MediakProductions It is! Season 2 came close as I adore Kate - Simon Ashley is a queen- but we got a decent amount of her here too. I went to film school too (Film Studies with Archaeology) and it felt the most rewarding in terms of characterisation and conclusion. Everything came together. We've seen Pen and Colin as friends from the start, separate from Eloise and Pen. Theres a lot of misunderstanding in terms of people not getting why Colin is suddenly 'seeing' Pen, but the truth is, he's always seen her. It's not because of her glow-up or because someone else is interested. We see from season 1 that he seeks her out at every ball and assembly. They do make each other laugh and see the world differently. They wrote to each other for a long time. I totally get that you have placed someone (mentally) in the friend zone and not considered more. Not because of anything about them that you don't like, but simply because of circumstance. And it only takes 1 thing to break them out of it. There have always been feelings there that he hasn't been able to place. I loved that the show built on the things that had come before. I think the exploration of Colin's loneliness is so subtle that people have straight-up ignored it. He's the ignored 3rd child. He was traumatised by the Marina events. Pen was pretty much his best friend and the only person who would regularly write to him whilst he was away, then suddenly she stopped writing, and he had no idea why - he questions his self-worth if everyone can so easily live their lives whilst he's away and not even miss him. Pen was his connection to home, which is why he came back so changed in season 3. He'd lost that connection, his sense of purpose and belonging. You can see it in so many little moments, like the gift-giving scene or at Mondritch's bar. I will always love quieter moments more than overwrought melodrama (but this season has that too). Even Colin working through the Lady Whistledown reveal felt more mature and realistic than anything that the show has done before. idk, I have a lot of feelings on this season😂
Haha I can tell you care deeply about it! It's a fantastic series in a fantastic show! And I love your point about how Colin continued to seek her out! It really felt natural bc they were clearly good friends. The transition was natural and real!
I believe the reason for the disappointment was due to many factors > The Main issue was the way POLIN was treated like side characters in their own season .Nic is such an amazing actress she was over shadowed in her season. Everybody was rooting for Pen story because most of us are not diamond or "pretty Bridgertons ".We were ready to see more Colin's backstory and character development (we did not like rake or brothel Colin- We had this ark with Simon and Anthony already) . We were expecting flashbacks , more meaningful conversations between Polin(Colin had a more substantial exchange with Cressida-crazy! ) , Sweet-cheesy romantic moments. And to Break our hearts even more implying Fran 's feeling for John may have not been real love after such beautiful /sweet courtship + the fact that there is no more Michael ! We all knew it was going to be an adaptation of the book but ........ Now i understand Marvel and Star-wars fans now ...
I definitely do agree with you. I really wish we saw more of Colin being a nice guy and more of his and Pen's actual romance part rather than jumping right into marriage. I'm sorry that my video upset you a little, but thank you for your view, and thank you for commenting and allowing for a discussion!
@neenscapaillant2045 no I get that fully! It's amazing that you love it so much! It's such a fantastic show, I'm insanely excited for season 4! Now, I'm assuming you have read the books, do you think Benedicts season will be good?
@@MediakProductions Yes I read all the books (actually i read all of Julia Quinns books). Francesca -WHWW and Penelope-RMB books were my favorites. No sure if I will be as invested in season 4 .I was too invested in season 3 and got burned .
THANK YOU! I LOVED SEASON 3. POLIN IS MY FAVORITE ❤❤❤ I also was not a hugh fan of season 2 and never understood the hype. And Queen Charlotte was awesome!
@@WillyYalad-ep7gv I really hope you like it! My buddy's girlfriend said that she didn't like how fast the romance part of the season was. So keep that in mind, but I think you should have a great time with it!
Mackenzie Lee also has some Marvel novels, one is about Loki's youth (maybe you already knew that) I liked the Loki one best, the one about Nebula and Gamora was quite good too
@@MediakProductions she wrote three, Where evil lies (I think, my version is in french xD) about Loki, Sisters in arms about Gamora and Nebula, and Cold front about the winter soldier. I have a video about them somewhere. I think the novels are a nice addition to the Marvel universe 😃
My cohost on the podcast got the shirt for me for my birthday, haha! And I really hope you like it! Come back after you finish, and we can discuss your favorite and least favorite parts!
@@MediakProductions If they do believe that, it's objectively not true. It had the most viewers, the most social engagement, and is the best-rated season. Even Netflix credited it with increasing its subscribers. That fact that viewership increased from season 2 (which is unusual given most shows have a steady decline in viewership) after those viewing numbers dropped from season 1 and further with QC (both were excellent seasons too). Theres a lot of bitter stans of other characters that have desperately tried to undermine the success of this season rather than uplift it as something good for the show in the long run, but the numbers speak for themselves.
@itsonlysound I believe not liking the season is a valid opinion. Everything has lovers and haters, so it's a given. But I do fully agree that some people take it too far. However, that will happen with every community. My biggest takeaway from what you said was that the viewership is climbing. Which is insanely exciting! I love discussing media, so I am always down for more and more bridgerton viewers!!!!
I mean, I think a very classic phenomenon seen around season 3 is that the people most satisfied with it, are the people with the lease built up expectations. Because when the show is watched just for itself (like season 1-QC-3) IT'S A GREAT SEASON!!😂 I went into the season biased because I read the book. But I really did love season 3.❤❤🩷#Polin💒
See i used to love to going to the theater and knowing when a movie is to be seen on a HUGE screen... now days i dont wanna go to the theater. This is a mix of alot of things. Be it the crowd is wont be quiet. The Screen is slightly out of focus and the motion blur hurts my eyes. And more and more i just want to watch something on my TV or PC. Which i think in the long run is what i miss the most of the Theater experience. The last time i had a "perfect viewing" was Endgame... and since then i dont have the same feel anymore.
One theater in my area is a retro refit. They took a theater from the 80/90's which was never designed for "stadium" seating and not giving a damn about sound. There are pillars by the screen that off set it. So they cheapen out trying to repurpose it for Surround formats. As for theater experience, saw Furiosa opening night, wasn't full at all. No one really reacted to it. Saw Bad Boys 4 opening night, it had more filled seats and the audience seemed to be more vocal. But it's nothing like it was pre-pandemic. Where every showing on opening day was packed and the audience was engaged with the movie. A few reasons for the huge change is price. Was going to see Dune 2 opening night but it was $50 for two IMAX tickets. Poked around on AMC's app and saw they have A-List $20/month for 3 movies/week. So I've signed up for that and max out my viewings just about every week. The biggest reason why people no longer go is because streaming that day or few weeks later they can watch it at home, on their way to work, or in the bathroom. We, the people, have chosen convenience rather than going out.
Yeah, man, you brought up some great points. Streaming and price definitely have something big to do with it. I should've brought those up. And I'm super jealous of your retro theater, I need to find one of those near me!
Omg! Thank you so much for watching!!! There was no way I thought one of the creators would actually check out my video!!!! You guys are so talented! Tell the team to keep up the fantastic work!!!
I loved that game, I'm considering playing it again to get all the achievents :D I know you didn't ask for it but here are some of my favorite indie games :D Sludge life (good trip, way cheaper then acctual drugs drugz ), Slashers Keep, Outer Wilds , West of loathing, Jazzpunk
OH MY GOSH YES! I played this game to 100% completion on Gamepass a year or so ago and it's such a good charming game. The ending still makes me smile. 10/10 game, would recommend!
I think the doctor just thought really highly of himself and thought that his “treatments” for George were truly the answer because medicine was not as advanced and psychological health was not acknowledged back then so I imagine if his methods worked the amount of recognition and respect he would get from curing the king would be unmatched and that was his motivation
That totally is what it is! Even still, there's something about his inclusion in episode 5 that rubs me the wrong way. It does take away from how amazing the rest of the season is!
