For me , Without John Fogerty there is no CCR. What a fantastic band and bunch when they were young just starting off. I had an 8 track in my vw beetle and I used to love CCR’s version of “ Heard it through the Grapevine “…. I will never forget our youth and the fun we had in the 60’s . That is until I received my draft notice from Bryn Mawr, PA at #30, now I am an old 100 percent disabled vet ( John’s Age) with many great memories.
I just finished reading John Fogerty's book, Fortunate Son. He presents his side of the breakup and the aftermath. The story of Fogerty's version is very compelling. I wish Stu Cook and Doug Clifford would write a book explaining their side of the breakup of the band and lawsuits because we all know there are two sides to every story. But, in the end, Fogerty's net worth is $90 million and Doug Clifford is worth $40 million and Stu Cook is worth $20 million. I guess you could say, they all did pretty well. The question remains though, what if CCR never broke up?
