im convinced big labels and sponsors/etc just made Beyonce fill that niche/power vacuum after janet left the industry, just like they made Britney after her in early 2000s to compete

to sign a deal is to basically be enslaved by them producers with contracts, albums, residencies for a looong time with very tight schedules. I haven’t decided if this is in my top 5 Janet television performances yet HOWEVER it’s definitely in my top 10. The biggest reason is the fact that she used the whole stage to her advantage with so much assertion!
9/9/17 a night I’ll never forget. SOTW tour in Houston, TX. This was after Hurricane Harvey (I was not affected thank God) but I was so worried she wouldn’t be able to come. Then Janet got on IG and said she would still be coming. When I heard she had visited the Convention Center where a lot of Houstonians were staying due to displacement I was so proud of my fave! The concert itself was nothing short of incredible and I didn’t even have the best seats. This was the show where she broke down during “What About…” the audience didn’t realize at first but when she came back out we showed Janet so much love. I knew Janet was a superstar but I was astounded at the turn out. Every color and age was in the house all rocking to Janet. I got emotional on the way home I couldn’t believe I had finally seen Janet. The vocals were smooth and her moves were tight!! Ty so much for uploading this now I can relive the best day of my life over and over ❤️
The truth of the matter is , before anyone does comparisons of other female artists to Janet Jackson who Is their Blueprint, Take a look at THE JANET JACKSON MTV ICON Ceremony in 2001, Beyonce (and the other ladies of Destiny's Child), Aaliyah Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez ,Christina Aguilera, Jessica Simpson and every male and female entertainer of relevance at the time credited Janet as their inspiration for getting into the business.. This show can be watched on RU-vid as evidece . And just think , Janet is old enough to be the mother of all of her dancers. They have to keep up with Janet , INCREDIBLE !
