Same old same old...low-altitude aerobatics. Number one cause of crashes at air shows. If this pilot had been 500 feet higher, all would have been well...
@@c123bthunderpig you say he wasn't an excellent pilot. This was a man who had this one accident in a long and illustrious career during which he became the World Aerobatic Champion. He made the one mistake of not allowing for the different air at this altitude and suddenly, you say he's a crap pilot. Given your own credentials I'd say it is unprofessional of you to speak about him like that. Of all the people commenting on here, you ought to know better.
Nice demonstration of piloting mastery in a rotorcraft, at least right up to the low-altitude loop thing. "The superior pilot uses his/her superior judgment to prevent him/her from using their superior skill".
@@mikeg2939 Then you are a massive hypocrite. Dennis spent his life flying aerobatics at airshows, he was the World Aerobatic Helicopter Champion. I bet if he'd turned up at a show and performed his usual routine without a mishap you'd have been applauding him instead of accusing him of being a show-off. This was his only accident in a long and illustrious career.
What an IDIOT! I have about 2,000 as a CFI and CFII JUST in the Schweizer 300C, plus my ATP. To fly a helicopter in such a way is just an ego problem that the pilot has. There is absolutely no reason to perform such nonsensical maneuvers. EVER!
