Meals on Wheels Collin County was established in 1976 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the purpose of serving Meals on Wheels to promote better nutrition among elderly residents in Collin County. The first older adult nutrition program began in 1977 with 100 meals being served daily at three of our local senior centers. Since then, the program has expanded to provide daily, nutritious meals and social interaction to approximately 2,000 unduplicated, homebound, older, or disabled adults throughout Collin County. Those at greater risk of malnutrition are also eligible to receive supplemental weekend and breakfast meals.
In 2022, MOWCC is prepared to provide an unprecedented 360,000 meals for an expected 2,500 unduplicated clients. On-going preparations are being made now to put MOWCC in a position for success amid rising needs.
