Met him once... Dali, that is. At an airport in Spain; I was only a kid; this nutter in a fur coat smelling of oranges rocks up with starey eyes and an amazing 'tache, he had two women in tow. F*ck me - he goes straight up to my Mum and hugs her, going 'Pat!'. So, my Mum knew Salvador Dali... and never bothered to tell me.
My dad worked on Welcome to my Nightmare with Alice Cooper & still said years later (despite being the Editor), he couldn't work out how they did the guillotine scene.
Wikipedia suggests author unknown, but first traced back to 1912 to a French magazine called La Clochette, but subsequently sent to the Pope Benedict during the first World War by Marquis Stanislas de La Rochethulon
***A CHRISTMAS CAROL*** - The late & great actor George C Scott played Scrooge. Upon Christmas morning these are the bells that are heard as Scrooge strolls down the street. It was filmed in Shrewsbury England. Love this version of Charles Dickens' classic - A Christmas Carol . Thanks for uploading!!!! :)

@fynnjamin All of what you say is true. I am just glad to see a high school doing this piece, exposing students to a somewhat neglected composer who is really the beginning and heart of all American music.
@PianoMan0489 True, it is one of 2 videos I could find, but if there were more videos of it to choose from, this would hardly be at the top of the list. The tenor part, which carries the tune, is barely audible (Billings advocates having both Soprano and Tenor doubled by men & women); and in my opinion the piano and the conductor shouldn't be necessary. While it is a fairly dependable recording to get the gist of the piece, it feels a little weak.
I don't know why there are so many dislikes for this! This is one of the only videos of this awesome piece on youtube that more choirs should sing. And the harmonies are clear. Thanks for posting!
@MatzeWWEFan All rings of bells do. This is called "rounds" where they ring them from the highest note first (i.e the smalllest bell) down to the lowest (i.e the biggest) after that, they swap the order of the bells : Hope that helps
St Paula is is sting is a 12 bell ring Westminster is a10 bell ring you need to understand that English change ringing is a pattern unique mathmatical sequences
A very different feel and sound compared to Russian Orthodox bells the ones that survived the Bolshiveks and stayed in their churches to be rung! God Save the Queen!
This piece was written in response to the December, 2004 tsunami in southeast Asia. This performance was dedicated to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami in Japan and featured a slide show of its aftermath.
