Hi I’m Pippa (Pip to friends) and I am an NZ based equestrian. I used to show-jump to 105/110cm until a series of unfortunate events happened and I’m currently stuck at 80cm with one of my other mounts. I have dedicated my whole life to horses, my one goal in life is to compete at Pony Grand Prix level which is jumps to 135cm.
Whiskey is a 14.2hh bay English riding X thoroughbred gelding who is 12 years old. He currently is in rehab for a fracture in his hock.
Belle is a 14.2hh bay Stationbred X thoroughbred mare who is 17yrs old. She is currently my competition mount whilst whiskey is out.
Jack is a 13.2hh black Australian riding pony gelding who is 12yrs old. I bought him as a project while whiskey is out.
There is no way it feels so long but hasn’t at the same time I feel awful about what happened I don’t think anyone would have guessed it would take this long 😭❤
I know how you feel. I haven’t jumped at all in 10 months. I miss it so much but just thinking about the day where I can jump my pony rather than what I am missing out on❤❤
I will forever treat the horses that have “no value” which they do I will forever treat them the same as all the others if not better and more spoilt ❤❤ so many ppl told me to just sell Remy bc he’s a waste of money etc and I was like no I’m gonna pay him back for all the love and care he shows and taught me ❤
Awh pip im so so sorry 😕 hopefully the x rays go well and you can restart fresh again, its 10x better than never. My horse recently got a brain bleed and a seizure, somehow she survived. But obviously she cant be ridden again (although she hasnt had a seizure since). Hope your okay, and good luck ❤
I do horseback riding and barrel racing and polls, but I still loved free rain check out walk ride rodeo two it’s about a barrel racer that got paralyzed and she still rides to this day and it was a true story
Im so glad to hear this. I love horses never had one always wanted one. If i had the moneu Id buy one just to cate for it and watch it in thr pasture and let it rin free and take care of it. As I can no longer ride but alas I cant. So I enjoy them from afar and pray for all of them.
You’ll get through it I promise 💜 one of my ponies has just started being ridden again after 7 months off and the last 3 of rehab for KS and a compressed nerve in his SI. It feels like the most boring thing ever especially when they look so much better but you can’t rush it or you’ll risk having to retire them for good, you’ll be able to ride him again i’m sure - try to stay positive and think of the good things ! I know exactly how you feel and it’s the worse feeling ever you feel useless and like it’s all your fault but trust me, when you get back on him it’ll feel that much better knowing he’s 100% rather than not letting him have the time he needs 💙💜 x
I would never in a million years ever think that you would treat your ponies differently depending on if the a injured or not nor would you ever be a person to treat you horse badly
Fr! We have a new horse that we didn’t know was famous😂! So what happened was we needed a lesson horse and his owners said they would give him to us. He was only 9 but hadn’t been ridden in a year. They said he had won everything there was to when in western pleasure. In the photos / videos they sent he was very healthy looking and gorgeous. But when he got to our house he was skinny, he was broken out in hives, and very lame ( we knew he was a little lame). My mom was telling her friend ( she knows a lot about western pleasure) a that we got a new horse. She asked his show name and was very surprised when my mom told her! Then she asked if we knew that he was famous, we didn’t as you can tell. For people who are wondering if he’s actually famous he is, the people who we bought him from said the bought him for 300k!😂 Moral of the story- TAKE CARE OF YOUR ANIMALS!!!
Preachhhh, our ponies need sm attention and if they get injured ppl just chuck them in the paddock when they really need MORE attention than before. Gl for thurs❤
this is so true oml. at my riding school this pony lizzie used to be the most popular and everyone wanted to rider her, but then she got a bad cough and had to be out of work for a year and i’m one of the only ones who still likes her ☹️ obviously she still gets ridden by kids and stuff but everyone just moved on from her 😭
preach!! domino is injured rn but everyone has been showing him sm love- he can't walk very much so no turnout but everything else we can do is being done, also fingers crossed for x-rays ❤
Preachhhh! Like with me, Belle I still go see everyday for ages and Russ I literally sit out in the paddock with him for hours and out in the dark just to still spend time with him and to give him attention, and you know I spend way too long with wizzy from all the voice messages with me getting distracted by him trying to eat my hair and harassing me 😂
