@@elkayakfish don't listen to these people, keep doing what you love, i liked the video, as time goes on you'll get better and better, it was fun to watch :)
Hello again,EL. That's a great and very interesting man you met at Sunny Dunny, I'm not on Facebook but perhaps you can advise your kayak mate to give Amble Marina a very wide berth and if stopping there go to the other side of harbour. They are the Friendliest of people but sadly the marina staff are a miserable lot and very inhospitable to charity people. Anyways, I've noticed that there are still poachers on the biel burn even camping with their vans and illegally ripping the fish with trebles with impunity. And no i didn't report them as im tired of incompetence from local cop shop.
Thanks just to be clear I am not Felipe. I just met up with him here in Dunbar. You can contact Him through his Facebook. I would love to get some more video with him just jobs and work. Give him some love on his Facebook! Thanks for watching
100% correct the warm water outlet is a bass nursery , controller floats and dinsmore eels buying them buy the card then the bombadiers became hip for a while but the majority of setups where drennan subsurface controller floats and the small eels rigged .they murdered 1000s of schoolie bass for commercial gain in well known restaurants in glasgow Stirling Falkirk Edinburgh no mercy up at Torness ..the average size fish was 12 to 14 inch which fit a restaurant plate perfectly .Sad times and no size limit .. an angler is very fortunate to catch a small 12 inch bass with a lure and light set up . but sadly the light set ups used at Torness where for The murder of juvenile fish ..I regard myself as a bass angler and most game species i have travelled and put in some hours and only had a handfull of bass in 20years connected with plenty but no cigar there should be an exclusion zone at Torness . Thanks man. I use adobe premier pro for my editing. It’s what I am used to. Try this video it’s a similar in the film style. 1st Day of Winter, one of the most eventful days on the Kayak EVER! - Kayak Fishing Scotland ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dyJINDFMT6s.html
Great video! It's really well edited and put together. I enjoy the little breaks where you talk about your feelings and thoughts in the moment. It makes it very cinematic and immersive, drawing the you deeper into the experience. This is the quality I expect from someone with hundreds of thousands of subscribers, not just over a thousand so well done! Subscribed and hope to see more videos like this soon.
Thanks for the sub. Yeah after we paddled I knew I wanted to do something more given my emotions of the day. Bit of thought to get the story right. Appreciate the comments thanks :)
This video is of a similar style. Unlike the other more vlog style videos on the channel. 1st Day of Winter, one of the most eventful days on the Kayak EVER! - Kayak Fishing Scotland ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dyJINDFMT6s.html
Yip it's a tad late watching this tonight but enjoyed the smooth sea's , the Bass is huge when up against the cliff, i was wondering if you were going to try going in through the "cave" ? I haven't but perhaps on another day as a friend was in there and said it was pretty scary especially when seals accompany the shelter besides you!!
Torness is a place ive been once and never again, its disgusting and like you say notorious for it but the police dont seem to enforce the law when it comes to wildlife. Whoever is buying these fish should be prosecuted too, if its restaurants buying it theyre ending up served to the public.
@@williamcarroll7909 super easy, got to be careful coming out of the harbour in swell it can get a bit confused and sloppy but most of the time it’s pretty simple :)
Great video and what a find! I know the dogfish get a lot of stick but I personally love them- super majestic animals with the way they swim. I also saw something crazy recently: a sunfish about the size of a dustpan lid around a mile off Torness jumping out of the water about 10m off my boat. saw the entire thing and im quite certain that is what it was. you may have noticed the jellyfish blooms over the last month and my theory is its up here to feed off them.
I was on a coastal walk in June down by Craster, Northumberland, and there were a few local anglers in a shore comp. As well as a cod, they had a couple of LSDs as well. Annicdotally, there's doggies by Newhaven in Edinburgh. One evening I'll fire out some mackerel strips off a Forth mark to see if there's any action.
Yeah I have heard that as well. I have always been surprised that I haven’t caught one before. A friend got one on a lure around north Berwick. But like I said where there is a high cod population there is a smaller dogfish one. It was great to see it. :)
@elkayakfish if its illegal why are you fishing there ? Not illegal anyway the sea is free to fish for EVERYONE !!! i only see one idiot in the video 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Not sure what setting you’re looking for. So when I start the app login, when I am in the water it asks how I am using it so boat for me and it starts scanning. The deeperpro doesn’t have bathymetry loaded onto it. Hope that helps.
Hi - Just came across your channel. I live in North Berwick and am a keen forager and also love lure fishing (not that I'm great at it). Given the locations in your videos I'm assuming you're very local. Fancy a coffee and a chat? We share the same philosophy in terms of conservation, and opinions on poachers/guerilla fishing. No pressure ... just would be interesting to chat to someone with such similar interests and maybe exchange some ideas.
Hello, Thanks for watching. This sounds like a great excuse for a trip to steampunk for a coffee! If you find me on instagram @elkfphoto we can arrange something
Fair play for putting this up ,, it can be very dangerous for boat or shore anglers and it can come out of nowhere I start checking the weather a couple of weeks before a trip,, it can be a tricky bit of coast around there 👍
I have a good mindset around mistakes. Life is too short to make them yourself so learn from others. Its about promoting a learning culture I guess. Its a tricky coast to forcast for sure. Thanks for watching
These scum local poachers are best pals with the Chinese and unfortunately for some unknown reason I've yet to see them in any court for 30 years, i found their nets once full of bass washed up on beach and all were dead. I cut that net into very small bits with anger at the total disrespectful for the fish and our shoreline. As you are now a local lad , you will be aware of the beautiful weir at roundabout, i used to film and look forward to seeing the trout especially when hiding in root of trees for years and everytime in broad daylight the local thugs and visitors that worked destroying the fabulous chestnut tree for fun also the railway area murdered all the trout with their treble hook's with impunity. The mess they left had all the evidence required to convict also their cars yet once again the lazy police ignore them.
You are right about that river spot for sure. Terrible damage. Thank you for promoting me to but together some thoughts about poaching in general. Watch this space. There was a few recent court cases involving a local poacher. Reported in the “reputable” East Lothian courier it’s just very very slow to change.
@@elkayakfish The minority of local fishing boats and some unwelcome visitors have been poaching for years ,also dropping their nets long before they get to the legal limit for fishing which collects the school fish and has an effect of starving the other birds and wildlife that depends on the feeding fish. It's toooooo easy to blame the local poacher or anyone else, why don't the authorities give them the job/responsibility to police our coastline which in turn would be great for everyone, it's better the Devil you know as the Devil you DON'T. Anyways, I've still to catch a bass but TBH I am not sure I want to after what I've witnessed.
Thanks for watching. This is some old footage before I got the boom. I never used it becuase the angle wasn’t great. But the weather here is terrible and the algorithm is hungry.
Well done on your first bass! They say the first time is the best for some things but no! Wait until you catch a bigger one😉Ive always angled since I was a child, I run a pier from 2020-2022 them three summers I was the bailiff and unfortunately the Eastern Europeans and the Chinese felt they could take home whatever they like size wise and quantity! I put a quick end to that! 😊 tight lines 🎣
Even as a novice, I can't see myself ever anchoring up either. I have, however, bought a drift sock, as I know that even if I don't use it, I will use it on the float tube to keep me pointing downwind and slow my drifts on the loch. You ever tried one? thoughts?.
I have used a drouge. Attach it to the front and it points your nose into the weather and the reverse in the rear. The back is better as you don’t yet your lines tangled. But can be a bit sea sicky in the swell. Slows the drift if it is wind based. It’s a good idea
It’s called a deeper pro. Check out this video if you’re interested. Fish Finder for Kayak Fishing??? Review Deeper Pro ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-E2GlLtzCKNw.html
I love bass fishing some days I'll catch and return every one tend to only keep them if they're of a good size or injured, like to use barbless single hooks. It angers me when people keep everything they hook or if they don't respect the outdoors and leave behind discarded fishing line, packaging, drinks bottles, disposable barbecues or worse. I think we need more wildlife rangers as they do in America to fine irresponsible behavior and educate the importance of looking after our wild spaces. Nice fish perseverance paid off, tight lines hope you have a good season.
Hi I hope you won't mind me asking a question. What do you use to attach your paddle to yourself/ the boat? Ive just been out on my kayak today- leaving the paddle balanced on the boat- and was imagining some nightmare situations of dropping it and it floating off😄
I use a paddle leash fairly easy to pick up across various Watersports outlets. I strap it to my boat. I rarely stow it away. Mostly keep it over my hips.
Well done mate, a very well deserved fish. Nobody can say you weren't trying. I've just recently started to fish for them from the shore and i feel your pain when you loose one. Finally caught one of 48 cm after weeks of scoping out and trying to figure the best way/ state of tide to fish the area i am fishing. Now to get the yak sorted and try from that to catch one. As you say, when you have put so much time in to try and catch one the feeling is great when you finally do. well done sir.....liked and subbed. Terry.
Little bit scary situations close to roks switching paddle to rod and vice versa. I am planning to start kayak fishing but to avoid this kind of situations (12 th minute) and to be more mobile I consider to buy pedal kayak only
smashing video mate. loved the drone shots of the kelp beds at the start. was that you free diving? that would make an awesome video if you filmed a bit of that
Thanks for watching. That’s my wife freediving. I do have one video a way back of me diving. I got a pretty horrendous ear infection last year and haven’t been in the water much since.
