No, because chances are new blade they send you will sadly have same issue. After I send their blades to my sharpener though they work great! I typically only buy Artero brand blades these days but Furzone, AGS and Buttercut are also great brands!
Girl you are delusional 😂 the things you’re complaining about don’t even make sense 😂 this is a great tool . After you literally said you will break a heavy duty metal comb in a day. 🤔 after that I realized you were inept
Hello I was wondering if you knew if you could use the charger base from the saphir on the opals or if it won’t fit in it. I want the saphir just for the charging base and I love the 2 speeds for the opal
Hey! So I have messed around with that and if I'm remembering right my Saphir batteries could fit in the opal charging base but the Opal batteries couldn't fit in the Saphir base. I can try and remember to double check for you tomorrow though!
I honestly have never needed the higher speed on my Opals and I do all kinds of coats. I just posted a video yesterday actually of my Opals vs a ton of different coats and in every clip I'm using them on the 1st speed with wide blades. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h2mVFbVXoGs.html
Hey again! I remembered to check! The saphirs can fit in the opal base but only if the battery is in the clipper, the opal does not fit in the saphir base.
Question about the Wahl KM3 vs KM10 I have 2 Shih Tzu only one gets clipped and only once a year so wondering how much clipper I really need. He does have a very thick wavy coat. Would a KM5 work?
I have 3 lhasa apso and oneisall work fantastic. Better than my noisy andis £330 clippers actually. It seemed like you had made up your mind not to like them before even trying them. That's how it came across. For information. I won't be joining your community, not because you were negative before you began, but because you whined about every aspect before trying. Having said that. Good luck in everything you do x
This is the most whiney review I've ever heard. We get it, you don't like the Oneisall clippers, but for us brand new newbies in the world of grooming dogs, we would just like a straight forward pros and cons.
Yes, you can, and should always brush these guys out. You can, and should, brush them in the first place 😂 ,but many Pyrs aren't the biggest fans of brushing either. Still, they are the Best Chore I can think of 🤗🐕🦺🥰 ... good job 👍 You might look into a bigger table though 😏
@@cleanclipcolor No, your table is To Small. And no, I'm not biased because I have an older guy, that's starting to walk like ME 😬 Funny. I'm brushing My Pal Hal Right Now. Seems to work better now, when he's Napping. We Both, could probably be Shaved while napping, and would be ok with that 😂🐕🦺🥰 ... back to work ☺️ 🖖
@@My-Pal-Hal I promise, my table is not too small, I have no issues fitting the even larger dogs that I do on it. I keep it lower to make it more comfortable for them as well. If dogs were constantly falling off, sure I'd agree with you, but I have zero issues due to my table size.
@@cleanclipcolor Hey Hey, no offense. This isn't my first rodeo. Just know big dogs, and these guys in particular. And seeing his foot, keep checking out the edge. AND Knowing. If they are in need of some grooming. Their Foot Hair can be quite substantial too. Making solid surfaces, less, Adhesive than you may be considering. It's a thing. Been there, done that. And know many that know it now Too. That's All 🤗 , it's a foot thing 😂 ... plus, if he wanted to move 😳 Anyway, Good Job 👍 And Shaving These Guys, 'can' be Life Threatening ! @@cleanclipcolor Even at a Thousand Years Old, ru-vid.comwx779iMx-Do?si=RiHbG0eXwl9qbA1z Grooming, AND CAR CARE, is pretty much the norm for the breed 😂 I have better. But Hal had me sign an NDA !!! ... "no dogs allowed" , i don't get it 🤣 Enjoy
Isn’t this clipper meant for home use? Of course it’s not going to be to a professional groomer’s standards. Your review is pretty bias since you would not be using it at home and you are a professional groomer. As a mom who grooms her babies at home, my boys do much better this this than the Andis professional corded griming clippers I paid 4x’s the amount for.
My intent with the review was to give an honest review on what these clippers work well for and they don't work well for. Yes they're meant for home use but that doesn't mean they'll work well at home for EVERY dog. I'm glad they work well for you but not everyone has that much luck with them.
Appreciate your tips, I took my dog to pet smart for a grooming who suggested I take my matted dog to the vet (I let my doggy play in my creek too much without drying and combing her). They tried to shave her dry and immediately gave up one inch on her tail - she was yelping the whole time. I took her home and did the wet shave based on your video, not a single whimper, not a single nick, and lots of treats later she looks like a rat but all the mats are gone! Thank you
Awww that makes me so happy to hear! I believe some of the corp grooming shops don't allow wet shaving and some groomers refuse to try it because they swear it will ruin their equipment. As long as you dry, clean and oil when you're done your equipment should be fine! Now you have a nice fresh canvas and can really work on your brushing routine with the swimming :)
I agree completely! Thats why I always laugh when people say the 5 speed clippers are the best, speed isn't everything. I just listed speeds because that is what was easy to find under the specs.
I agree, I love my Wahl km10. I use the Wahl Brauvera for sani and pads. I've been told they are good for rounding heads with the attachment guard combs. I plan to get them and try it out. Thank you. The video was helpful. Also, a guy who fixes the clippers said ideally one should never go higher than speed 3 on the Andis for the same reasons you said they get to hot, blade included.
home groomers , just get the chorded whal clippers....they are common, and if you intend to groom your dog several times a year for about 15 years...the battery will not run out and need to get a new set...you can use the wahl for 30 years ...thats 2 dogs for 200 dollars or so.
I do not ever lift my dogs back legs like that !!!! You literally just lifted the dogs legs so quick and like jerked them up .... sad !!!!!! And the 1st dog did not appreciate how you did their back end.other then that... good review of the product.STOP JERKING THE DOGS LEGS SO ROUGHLY WHEN YOU LIFT THE BACK LEGS.. SAD !!!! IF I SAW YOU DO THAT TO MY DOG. IT WOULD NOT BE GOOD FOR YOU. TOTALLY WRONG HOW YOU JUST LIFT, JERK AND THE LAST DOG THROWN COMPLETELY OFF BALANCE !!!!
I promise, I never am actually jerking or rough. If I was dogs wouldn't love coming to see me and beg to get on my table. Sorry it appears that way, but I promise, I'm not.
Also, the dogs would be FIGHTING with me if I was being as rough as you're accusing me of being. The dogs are perfectly fine and content with how I'm handling them. Did you ever hear one yelp? Or act like I'm actually hurting it? No. A lot of dogs I start to lift their leg and they know the routine so well they finish lifting it for me which can give it a snap up look.
Very informative - i wish i had seen this before i bought them. My instructions say it's not recommended for the face.... uh, that's what i bought it for! Then to see it doesnt perform well on a doodle in your video only adds to my disappointment in that i have a poodle. The only plus for me is the clippers cost very little money. I will invest in a higher end one soon. I got rid of my andis after my old dogs passed thinking they would be my last dogs at my age. Now i have a sweet although squirmy poodle pup. Anyway, thanks for the video!
Glad it helped! They are great little clippers for smaller jobs, it say they aren't recommending for the face because how short the blade is, if your dogs skin isn't used to going that short it could get irritated. You could give it a short on the face with a guard on though. I didn't mind them for sani/pads, maybe a little touch up but I wasn't super impressed with them for a full body haircut.
I've only got a few seconds onto your review, and the negativity sent me to the comments section. I have these clippers, and have used them on a variety of coats. Without a doubt Wahl for example, would be a better choice, for various reasons. But, these are pretty good clippers, especially for the price. They're sharp, quiet, long battery life, sufficient length attachments, easy to clean... Definitely a great 1st or second set for someone. Regarding the comb. What are you doing that would cause you to break them in a day? 😲 Poor dog on the other end! Anyway...For those considering these clippers, the over all reviews on them matters, much more than just the opinion of one person. As any reviews would.
I tried to be unbiased and say what they did work well for and what they didn't. Sorry you didn't like my opinion but at the end of the day, we're allowed to have opinions. Regarding a broken comb, no idea what you're referring to but I've never broken a comb on a dog.
@@MikiDoodleMom oh LOL my JOKE saying "I would break it in a day" my combs often go flying off my table and it didn't look to be high quality so I was JOKING saying it would probably break in a day, guess I needed to add in "from flying off my table multiple times". You've got to lighten up.
@@cleanclipcolor I don't have to do anything. The comb is stainless steel, made no different than a like combs. If you're breaking your combs this way, that's not a comment for a review then, is it? I'm sure dropping clippers could cause them to break too. No? Anyway. What I saw of your review was unjustifiably negative. Sure, these clippers aren't top of the line, but for the price, they're pretty decent. I've used them to groom a variety of coats and styles, with no issues whatsoever. The blades are super sharp which is a must for any worthwhile brand. Like any clippers, maintaining them is paramount to their performance and longevity. Maybe you covered all of these point in your review.
@@MikiDoodleMom I actually talked a lot about what these clippers ARE good for. Sorry you do not like my review, but I can't please everyone :) I'm glad they work well for you but they would never hold up for me with the amount of dogs I do and the lengths they can do are extremely limited. Hope you have a great day!
Hi there! Did you bathe/dry and brush out your pup first? Dirty matted coat can be hard for clippers to get through. The KM2 isn't as strong of a clipper either so you want to make sure you have the coat prepped well. The new blade, what brand? Is it a Wahl or Andis brand?
@CleanClipColor So I bathed the dog and dried it. First it cuts good hair and then tears it I lubricate the knives. I bought a black knife, at first it cuts well, but then tears the hair than Wahl companies I have a Mozer Rex, it cuts well and Wahl sometimes cuts normally, other times it is dull, but when I turn it off for a while and wait, it works for a short time
@@user-jf6mi3yv9y ok! If you can, try ordering an artero, buttercut or AGS brand blade? Are you using metal attachments like in my video? If you are, its best to use a 30 blade under them, not the 10blade the clippers came with.
@@cleanclipcolor yes, I used metal nozzles and it was great. I will try to order a Mozer knife Thank you for the information. sorry if this is not the translation I myself am from Ukraine, I liked your videos 🙂 have a nice day and obedient dogs😊
Im thinking I'll go with the Heinigers. Do you still really like these or are you leaning against the KM10's better? Wondering what kind of blades I should get and attachments? And do you get extra in case they get hot?
Hey there! It really depends on if you're wanting to spend the extra $$ on cordless or not. The KM10s are still my favorite corded clipper and come at an amazing price for what you get. I really enjoy having cordless now though so I use my Heinigers. I've switched over to using artero blades, I have prob 10 of each blade because I'm OCD about having plenty of extras. As long as you keep them well oiled, NOT cool lube spray, and use the clippers on the lower speed, you shouldnt have much issue with them getting hot. When I use my artero wide blades, I use their attachments made for them. When using my regular blades, I use wahls stainless steel attaches (seen in this video).
Can I wet shave with corded clippers? Is wet shaving ok for a complete newbie to shaving dogs? My 4mo labradoodle got matter on his flanks and legs after I had to take a trip and he stayed with family that bathed and friction towel dried him without brushing before or after (and he played in the countryside with 2 other crazy puppies for 7 days straight). I want to get the mats out but don’t want to go straight to a 10 blade, I’d prefer a 5 or a 7 blade if at all possible so I’d like to try wet shaving.
Yes you can wet shave with any clippers, just do the proper cleaning afterwards! If its anywhere that is thin skinned or inside of the legs, I highly suggest doing a 10 blade, its much safer then a 5 and especially a 7 in thin skinned areas.
I dislike Wahl as a company. They treated me very badly recently. Their BravMini clipper is a toy! Good for tiny detailing but the battery dies early with no replacement, and the blades are JUNK! The Wahl Bravura is the same BS, like you mentioned. I prefer the Andis Vida which is identical to Bravura but much more torque. However, neither the Bravura or Vida is good for full dog body work, more on suitable for detailing on belly, paws, face, genitals. Extreme detail work on tiny dogs needs the BravMini. Unfortunately there is nothing that is this small for delicate small dogs. I wish we had an alternative to the BravMini. I have the Andis AGC2 and quite happy with it. Its not Heiniger quality, does heat up fast on #30 blades, but does a good job of full body work. It is corded. It has survived a house fire, and still works just fine. I do change the drive shaft now and then, easy change, cheap part. I like Andis as a company, more responsive and they DO NOT subcontract their clippers out to China like Wahl does, which is why Wahl sucks big time. I will never buy another Wahl clipper, I hate this company!!! Heiniger Saphir came down in price to $315 - $250! Heiniger Opal is the next gen Saphir, and has a lot more features: 2 speeds, very quiet, cord/cordless option, run time doubled to 4 hrs! Saphir is 2 hrs. Good product in the Opal. Petedge sells the Andis AGC2 cheapest. For those who want a Bravura type medium clipper, try the Andis Vida. Same type of adjustable blade, same size. Andis is made in the USA, Bravura and all of Wahl's rotten products are made in China with 0 quality control. However, like I said, if you have Toy or Mini Poodle, and you need delicate clippers, you have no choice but to get the Wahl BravMini with their #30 fine blade because it does the ears, eyes, paws, butt for these tiny dogs really well. Small enough to get in there, and not dangerously strong. Laube iVac Clipper runs $600 and you have to clip backwards. Enough said! Note: Heiniger Opal is very sensitive to dirty blades and can shut off if blades are sticky with dirt. Clean them with H-42 or Artero blade cleaner, use blade oil, and do this before, during, after clipping. Blades last longer, and don't overheat. Clipper does not have to strain either.
Thank you for the review! I was especially interested in the two German models of Heiniger Saphir and Opal. Nice to know the differences in recharging and noise, and that they are both not prone to heating. I have an Andis AGC2 and I love it, but it overheats a lot esp with #30 blade. I also have an Andis Vida which is like the Wahl Bravura but costs a lot less. It has an adjustable blade and it is a robust smaller clipper, love it. The one I also use a lot is a very tiny clipper called the Wahl Bravmini. It has one blade sized #30. It is cordless, and almost a toy, not a lot of power, but so very good for doing small dog delicate parts like genitals, ears, eyes, paws. Probably good for a cat bum and paws too. Cuts fine, quiet, and gets into the paws. I'm not a big fan of the quality - the blades dull fast, but its the only clipper available that does small paws well. Open to any other suggestions. I desperately need a paw clipper for mini poodles. I love the Andis AGC2. It has lots of power, and very robust. Mine is over 5 yrs old and still going strong. You have to buy some spare drive shaft spares and change them out periodically if clipper overheats quickly. Its the drive shaft. On the Saphir it may be loud but it does not have the issue the Opal has. The Opal cuts out immediately if the blade feels resistance. This issue comes up if the blade is sprayed but not oiled, as per Jeff at Northern Tails Sharpening. Apparently, to protect the motor or something, the engineers designed it this way. If you use a blade spray instead of oiling it, the Opal may stop running. You need to use a blade cleaner first, such as H-42 Cleaner, then oil blades before/during/after use. This makes the Opal run smoothly. I bought some H-42 cleaner off Ebay for $9 for 8 oz. Pricier on Amazon. I think the Heiniger is the clipper I am going to buy next. It is the most robust clipper and does not heat up. Saphir Pros: costs $315 for blue, has 2 charging stations, optional cord, Saphir Cons: is louder, has one speed, and does not have battery life indicator light. Opal Pros: has optional cord, much quieter, has 2 speeds, has battery life indicator light. Opal Cons: Costs more at $425, has 1 charging station only, slow to start, may cut out if blade not oiled well. I think the Opal has more features on the whole. Hard to pay $100 more than the Saphir but it is a better model.
One side note, if you get the blue saphir, you can spend $25 for the purple case and change it yourself, that is what I did! I wanted the purple so bad but it was sold out/cost more. It wasn't too hard to change it. You will NOT be upset with the Heiniger, if you do go with the opals, blade care is very important. I swap between my two all the time though, I really love both.
@@cleanclipcolor Thank you! I find the plain blue color on Saphir to be soothing, and the purple one is a bit busy and also looks more slippery on finish. Which one do you reach for most often: Saphir or Opal? I cannot decide easily.
@@mjremy2605 Hm, at the moment I've been grabbing my Saphir more, my blade lever is pretty due to be changed in my Opal but I keep forgetting to order a new one, since it needs changed it vibrates a little more. I don't find either to be too slippery but they do make little sleeves you can put on them. I really love both clippers a lot, I NEVER have needed the high speed on the Opals which is probably why I don't mind using either one.
@@cleanclipcolor Happy to hear that two speeds don't matter much. Now I am leaning more toward the Saphir. It is available for $270 at Ryans currently while Opal is priced at $425 everywhere. Way too high for clippers. Thank you very much for your feedback!
The tip is the "water peeler" tip, it doesn't fit on ALL dryers but it does fit on MOST professional grade dryers, I use K9 brand HV dryers. I use Arteros double sided flexible brush and their long pin slicker brush.
