Hi. When i first got my VolvoXC40 inscription pro 2019 when i changed drive modes dynamic used to automatically turn red and then when i switched to eco mode it would turn to green without going to driver display. I changed profiles and the colours stay the same for all drive modes. I cannot change this back..any suggestions as i contatced everyone and they dont know. Thanks mate
Sadly, since upgrade to Android Automotive, there is no more customizations available for driver display. Hopefully they will address this in future software updates.
Hi, is it only the sensus navigation you can get in the middle? OR can you get GoogleMaps through CarPlay in the middle of the drivers display? Thanks in advance.
My screen is dark when I go inside the parking area.Not able to see the 360degree car inside to parking.Can you help me what setting I need to do?Before it was perfect don’t know what I pressed it’s dark now.
What do you mean when you say inside the parking area? It can go like this if it’s really dark when parking as the cameras do not have lights. If it is ok in the daylight it might be that the parking area is too dark
@@dannypearce7106 I've added my phone no issues been using for 12 months for WiFi but add service today and they provided 12 months 100gb sim but after all the instructions they've sent me still not working
@@skunkeyebandit you just have to keep trying. It took me ages but once it’s connected you won’t have to worry again. Took my a good few days and hours of attempts
Hey mate, great demo. Wondering if you know how to fix my issue here. Got hotspot connected on screen okay with wifi logo. But none of installed apps seem to have internet. :/
When you turn off the car with your new gauges theme and when you turn on the car do the gauge themes stay like that or it resets btw I will use the performance theme this helped really much
They remain the same until you change them. All the settings can be saved to a certain key or profile so if someone else is going to drive the car they can have their own settings saved and to s different key. The car will recognise this when the car is started and change them automatically
Is there any way to make the map in the centre of the driver display to be 2D. The default 3D display is useless given that any turn more than a couple hundred metres/yards ahead is off screen!!
Thanks for the videos. Unfortunately I've not has the same luck as you. I've only just got an 18 month old S90. The vodafone sim didn't seem to work so I bought a 3 sim, like you. But the car just keeps telling me that there is no sim in the modem. I've searched everywhere online but just haven't got a clue how to sort it. I didn't buy the car from a Volvo dealership so reticent to use them as they just quoted me £350 to install Apple Carplay. I was amazed that the car didn't have it as standard but at that price I'll have to do without.
There must be something on the settings stoping or from working. As for car play there are other places that can do it for cheaper so worth looking around
@@dannypearce7106 Thanks for getting back to me. It's just so annoying. I've just read somewhere else that it took 24 hours in their particular case for the sim to be recognised. I'll say my prayers tonight but I can't see it happening. Cheers though mate
@@dannypearce7106 OMG! Sorted. Took your advice to keep trying but unfortunately it took my wife to point out that I was pushing the doggie in upside down(from the boot not the backseat). I needed to line up the arrows on the dongle. What a fool! Anyway, all working now and thanks again for your help😁
Thank you for this. Some hope on the horizon. This sort of thing doesn’t normally phase me but the combination of Volvo and Vodafone sim not connecting is driving me crazy. As somebody commented on an another of your posts, you spend a fortune on a car and this crap isn’t intuitive, reliable or easy. I dread to think what advice the dealership will offer me but I am contacting one tomorrow. Apparently the guy I need to talk to has had a lot of experience helping people with this problem. Hi. I’m not sure what an Esim is. I believe it’s a micro sim which is the same that goes into an Apple IPhone. The sim data is used for everything the car can connect to like Spotify and Maps but there are other apps that can be used such as paying for parking and weather. You can use the sim as a hotspot for others in the car also which was amazing for me with 2 children. You can however just use your phone as a hotspot but I preferred the sim option.
@@dannypearce7106 hey, thanks for the quick reply! eSIM is like an embedded sim you get on latest devices. If I connect the car to my phone as hotspot, can I access Spotify on car or do I definitely need a data sim for that?
@@faizanjahangir8989 you can use all the normal features if you connect your phone to the car. It obviously stops when your phone is out if range. With the sim it stays on so if others use the car Spotify will always work and live maps and downloads. I bought a micro sim in the UK for about £20 which would last all year. If you can find a deal similar it’s a no brainer to go for the sim
No mate it’s one of the pre installed apps. You just swipe to the far left screen and it should be there. Log in as you normally would and it pairs a code with your phone and then all you do is go to the app on the media section
If you look at anything that’s touch screen it’s always going to get dirty. I keep some screen wipes in the drawer u see the seat and I blank the screen by holding the button and clean it with the cloth that come with it.
Screen has proximity touch sensor, meaning that you don't have to physically touch the screen for your input to get recognized. It's enough to move your finger close enough (ca 5 mm). It takes some practice to master.
I've been thinking about buying the R design , can you tell me if there is mood lighting included , or is it an option and also reversing camera is that as standard ?
You’ll need to do your homework on the models as the new 70 plate has had loads of options taken off. From what I have read the 20 plate is better. I have the mood lighting and to be honest it’s so subtle you barely notice it. I got some packs on mine so I got the 3D camera which is amazing but I believe you get a normal reverse camera as standard. With the 3D is also allows you to change the camera to the sides and front. There’s a really good Volvo XC40 page one Facebook that will be able to help
I just couldn't understand the benefit of this. I mean what will happen if we put a sim card? is it for navigation with real time traffic conditions? I just got my brand new XC40 but probably we don't have this service here in Turkey. I am connecting my phone with car play to use google maps..etc.
I guess it’s just preference. I really like it. My maps needed updated last week and they update in the background. If I was using my phone and needed to get out for fuel or leave the car then it would stop. I also have an iPad connected so my daughter can watch films and when my wife uses the car she doesn’t need to add her phone as everything is already there. It’s one of those things that if it didn’t have it, it wouldn’t cause a problem but the fact it’s there then why not use it.
