I thought my dad was crazy when he told me that's what he thinks the problem is since he replaced the battery and the cables to my car. He has lectured me for years and years not to put a ton of crap on my keychain and this is exactly why😮 thank you for your video!
If you change all the stuff and it doesn’t fix it, I know exactly what it is ask me and I’ll tell you I had the same issue changed everyone of these pieces with all GM parts and none of it fixed the pressure issue no it isn’t the camshaft bearings either.
My Stabilitrak and traction control come on but makes p0011code come on with engine light i changed vvt magnet and vvt solenoid/actuator and camshaft position sensor removed engine light and gave it power also did wheel hub both are bad but only can do one for now it removed the light but comes on and off im guessing the other wheel hub and sensor is horrible i can feel it when im braking and driving but with the new one made a huge difference
I think my 08 is doing the same today it randomly turned off coming off the highway. I noticed after everytime i change the oil it never does it till its stime for a oil change. Also my stabilitrak and traction control light come on and stay on
Yes, might be the oil control valve or might need a new o-ring around pick up tube. I have another video on the timing overhaul I did for the truck, here it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4FouJrrSJTs.htmlsi=jxVaOtWJxG3HWcBE
I was having a no start no crank with a 2008 Tahoe I literally been chasing the problem for 7 hours I have not replaced anything something told me to go unplug the battery to reset the ECU but before doing that I hooked up the computer and it came back to p1682 so then again I go unplug the battery I let it sit for 20-25 minutes I go back to plug in the battery and she starts right up I was about to literally spend $145 parts and labor on the ignition switch now it could be the ignition switch no telling but it started right up and I will continue to chase the problem from there if anything else happens
You could try and replace the torque converter first and see if it fixes the problem. Or change the whole transmission. It’s almost the same job labour wise.
Not long at all. Maybe a few hours (2 to 3 hours). It’s very easy, you just unbolt the cover on the driver’s side of transmission and everything opens up from there.
Excellent video, thanks for sharing... I have a 62 te, I changed the torque converter and oil pump and now it only moves in reverse when putting drive, it jerks and doesn't move and I have the codes p0871 and p0585, what could it be? thank you so much
I have had issues with my back brakes dragging thanks to the stupid parking brake design and I wonder if this design takes its toll on the reverse gears. Also the van is so heavy, even low tire pressure can damage it! It's good to see that Rock Auto sells the updated compounder drum which should help prevent the reverse issue in the future. My van just hit 140,000 miles and fixing the transmission should make it last even longer! Lots of good tips for do it yourself save yourself money people like me 🙂 Thanks for the video!
Update! I changed the trans fluid and filter and saw no metal in the pan. But when I took off the filter I had chunks of the lower drum in the filter! I went ahead and finished the job and the van shifted and worked like it did before. Reverse still stutters but is no longer stops working once the trans is hot. Looks like I will be doing the repair that you did in this video as I have an emissions test to get done and this stupid P code will cause it to fail 😞 Thanks again for this very informative video!
I have this problem as well. I heard the solution is to replace the camshaft position sensor and the camshaft adjuster magnet (and its gasket). Also should check wiring/continuity/resistance for related sensor wires. If you fix that and it doesn't fix your problem, then do a timing job, replace the oil pump, and do what the guys in this video did (replace oil pickup tube, clean out oil pan, etc). @michahoffman4148 @philh9238
Did you have to do any sort of reprogramming on the tcm when replacing the T case? Mine went out a couple days ago while driving and thought it was the trans that blew but everything is the same as your pt 1 video.
I had the same code and replaced my magnet, vvt solenoid , and camshaft sensor. Soon as I put those parts in I start the vehicle and it takes for ever to start and gave me codes p0340 and p0341 this was an issue I didn’t have before. My previous issues were fixed by watching this video but now I’m stuck and need help figuring out if this new issue is related to the p0011 code ?
Melling makes a fork adapter for the oil pickup tube to have equal tension on the tube. I put one in my escalade. Chevy design fail allowing the o-ring to potentially bypass air, and that's not great for the internals.
Around 300,000 miles. Depends how you drive and maintain the vehicle. You can change the timing chain anytime after 150K miles I’d say if you want to be safe. … change the lid?🤔 I don’t understand that question
Before I did all this work to it yes, the truck was throwing STABILITRAK codes intermittently.. after I completed all this work the truck has been running like new ever since. One thing I’ll recommend for the 6.2 LS is to use WIX XP oil filters. If I’m not mistaken I’m pretty sure the WIX XP filters were engineered to run with the GM LS engines because of the lower idle oil pressure.. the pressure relief valve in the WIX XP filters is a lower setting than other oil filters like Purolator boss that’s set around 22psi. Truck runs noticeably better when I run WIX XP oil filters and now that’s all I run 👌👍
So what caused the sound other than it was the transfer case, bearings, gears, chain? I understand it was the transfer case, I have same issue, I want to replace the parts, rebuild? I cannot find any other videos on this issue. Thanks
I seen this other guy on RU-vid he was getting the same codes we was getting po11 and traction light come on he put everything new like you did but he did new timing chain new oil pump new vvt sprocket new vvt bolt and oil pump just like you did and he said he drove it and he kept getting the code again then his next move was to replace cam bearings and cam and that was his fix
Haven’t seen a code yet. The traction light blipped a few times, actually twice ✌️ which could’ve been from other factors, other than that she’s been running great.💯💯👍
