Hi. I just bought one wk4. Im reading the manual but i still don’t understand how to set it to receive midi from external device? The other keyboard is sending signal from midi out but no luck with my wk4. Thanks.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to write a comment! I just connected the GEM WK4 for a midi appointment. I did this: 1. Connected KORG TRITON STUDIO on midi OUT 2. Connected GM WK4 midi cable to midi IN A 3. Went to the midi menu 4. Then F5 5. And here you need to set the channel number should not be off.

The Roland firmware update on XP must have some magic dust in it because no other IDE multitracker can format CF cards with a adapter Tascam Zoom Fostex i have tried them all and Zoom HD 16 came out in 2007 vs the Roland came out way back in the 90's

I had an sy85 with 8mb of ram years ago. Still regret selling it 20 years later, it was such a good keyboard. Had a programme for the Amiga500 that converted 8bit samples to sy85 format, that was pretty cool as well.

Thanks Retro vintage! I've got a question in case you have come across similar issues. My gem wk4 has a very specific problem. The outputs to connect the keyboard to an amplifier (the back panel) do not seem to work. ¿Is there a way to know what the problem is and how to fix it?
@@retrovintage4108 It does! Both headphone jacks work fine. The problem is when I try to connect to the auxiliary outputs 1 & 2 or either right/left outputs.
It seems to me that first you need to try to forcibly assign outputs in the mixer. To do this, go to mixer, edit mixer Every performance can be independently programmed to audio outputs. If this does not help, then you need to reset the tool to factory settings. Try to reset to factory settings If this also does not help, see what version of the OS you have and update to the latest as in this video. If it doesn't help even after that, then the output board is to blame, and only a radio engineer can eliminate this. Possibly dried electrolytes capacitors.

I think you thoroughly cover significant repair and upgrades to the WK4 (or one of their family members) Following your video, I tried to update a WK4, however, I wasn't able to find the mios36K4.lzw file in the description. Since vs840 uses FAT, you need a computer with Windows XP or lower. If you are using Windows 10 and higher, then most likely the computer will not see the files.
No arranger even to this date has the abilities and the workflow of GEM WK or SK. I have many of them and I’ll never let go. They are my master keyboards. It controls a studio with its dual midi channels. People don’t know what they are missing out on thinking it’s just an old Italian arranger. Thanks for the video

I absolutely agree with you. I bought the CD version of the album Helter Skelter: Consume. It can be found here: www.discogs.com/ru/search?q=helter+skelter+angel&type=all Surprisingly, the sound of the album on CD is very different from that on vinyl. On vinyl, stereo effects sound more noticeable, while CDs sound almost mono.
Just an FYI - Your gloves are defeating your ESD purposes of wrist strap and ground - your hands are isolative unless the gloves are conductive ESD gloves. You would be fine with just your bare hands. I am an electronics engineering person by profession.

The kit with Gotek also includes an adapter from 34 to 24 and a very good flash drive with all Yamaha SY85 sounds, including a reset to factory settings. Hello! They are different synths. The SY85 has simple acoustic sounds, while the SY77 is an FM synthesizer. In Sy85, I expanded the memory so that sounds that require a lot of memory can be loaded. If special sounds are not needed, then the memory can be left as is!
Hi mate, great tutorial, I have just purchased an SY85 and plan to follow your lead and upgrade it all, probably a new battery as well, I have been looking for the memory but not sure I have seen the correct type, any chance of a link?? Also I notice that the cover that goes over the Gotek looks like it has been cut away? Did you do that in order for the Gotek to fit?? Thanks in advance ~ :)🙂
Thank you for your question. About memory - search on eBay 2x4 mb simm 30 pin. Here is a lot of options! The cover was cut for a previous non-native floppy drive. Most likely, if you put the gotek right away, you won’t need to cut anything!. Other links are in the description below the video.
