This weekend I was trying to dig into my supplies and decide what to let go. I moved a year ago thinking my studio apartment would be my fantastic and ideal new creative space. I'm struggling with having had my supplies stored for six years and, heck, they're still covered up in the totes. It's a mindset of having trouble of letting the supplies go, or my buying the furniture and pulling these paints out of hiding and make the time to use them. I'm with you on the waste thoughts. But I keep trying to remember that if I let them go I could move on.
@@cynvision i agree on the mindset 100% I do prefer my supplies more visible as well. I think everyone goes through a phase of buying different supplies when you are figuring out what you prefer to use. So when I think about it like that, it makes it a bit easier to donate them. “Those supplies are just not my preference anymore “🤷🏻♀️and somehow that feels like a much better thought than I’m wasting money or supplies. Good luck on sorting your supplies! I also have to say that once it’s done, I usually feel better about making room like you said for new things to come or just happier i have more space , cleaner area etc.
@@dianaluna8283 Thanks for saying that, it’s nice to know that others see something good in them, i never thought there was an emotional component but if that’s what comes across, I really appreciate your feedback
Not ugly. Is your art! Believe me I've seen really bad art and the artist shows it very proudly. Own it!!! You are experimenting, testing different art media, etc. It takes practice.
Ugly does seem kind of a harsh word- maybe I should have named it something else - i just wanted to show an unpolished, non-perfect sketchbook to show others that everyone makes “bad” “beginner” “messy” “unfinished” work on their journey, not everything we make is beautiful, and that’s ok! Thanks for watching, it sounds like you understand the experimenting/testing part of the process. I will work on “owning it” lol .
@@theartofjeanne Absolutely. Please keep going. It will be interesting to see how you evolve. 😀 Yes, I did experiment for awhile but I've noticed I've rather watch others do the process than doing it. I must say it was fun and I enjoyed it very much.
i agree that you have to make a lot of art and keep going! i’m not sure i could see myself revisiting any of these, but never say never right? thank you for spending time here
Ugly is good. Keep going! When you finish your next sketchbook, go back and look at this one and you'll be surprised how much you will have improved. Love the page with the drips. Suggestion- also date your pages - you may find it helpful later on.🙂
@@colorcapacity2779 Love this idea, I will definitely keep that in mind. Thanks for watching. I would have never picked the drips as a favorite. But that teaches me a very valuable lesson.
Just saw this for the first time, but it doesn’t look ugly at all! I think all of the sketches has their own personality and looks really dreamy and thoughtful!
aww thank you for saying that, i never thought about it like that …each one is so different and kind of all over .. but to say each has its own personality 🥹 that sounds much nicer, thanks for watching
I love the way you use colours. Keep going. I would also recommend watching @sealdeer sketchbook videos. They are so chaotic and unhinged that it makes me excited to just do the same and forget about perfection.
@@smh_18 oh i definitely have several unfinished and blank, you are not alone in this.. i hop around from sketchbook to sketchbook as well .. thanks for the support, and good luck to you, maybe today will be a good day to crack that baby open and practice..
Hi. Love your color choices… could you please tell me where you got your large white ceramic palette? (That’s divided into three sections and you set your watercolor pans on in the video) love the size & simplicity Thanks!

The intention of the video was for people who struggle with anxiety and overthinking and overwhelm when getting started on a project, specifically artistic businesses. I am speaking from my personal experience of being stuck in analyzing and planning and not just getting started, not the experience of “project management” in general.
I LOVE painting, and hate spending time drawing, especially because I've just never been good at it and don't enjoy it particularly. These were really helpful tips. Thank you
Some days I just want to work on a nice painting project, and for me it can really kill my mojo to get bogged down with a drawing that doesn't turn out. Glad you found it helpful!
