Welcome to our channel!
Our channel is about homeschool curriculum that we are currently using or have used in the past. We homeschool using the Charlotte Mason philosophy. Our main curriculum is Heart of Dakota because it is a Christ-centered curriculum and it follows Charlotte Mason's ideas and philosophy of education. I hope our videos are helpful to anyone looking into homeschool curriculum choices!

Thank you very much for creating this sweet video on crafts! Super very helpful! I love all your ideas, resources and recommendations. A note on cross stitch some projects may take a long time when too large and complicated. There are small projects that may be completed in a short time and are very rewarding! Greatly appreciated!

I would think knot-tying is considered a handicraft. At the very least, it falls under scouting skills. Charlotte Mason was fond of scouting skills for kids. Come to think of it, woodworking and basic sewing skills also fall under scouting skills (the Boy Scouts even get badges for these skills).

Hello, I’m glad you have enjoyed the HOD curriculum videos, I always hope they are helpful! Yes, we are still using Heart of Dakota. This year I’m using Preparing Hearts with my 4th grader, it’s one of my favorite guides! With my oldest, we are doing Revival to Revolution … we ended up not using it last year, because we ended up splitting Resurrection to Reformation into two years. We didn’t plan it that way, but that’s what ended up happening. That’s why I haven’t made a new video in a while. But I do plan on making some more in the near future.

Thank you so much for this review. I’ve really been thinking about trying BF. Does the program tell you what to write in the notebook? I have a reluctant writer so not sure if he’ll be willing at all to come up with anything on his own. I also have a channel and right now it’s mainly about homeschooling. It would be fun to be friends and connect here 😊

Holy! Thats a lot of information! How long do you spend each day homeschooling? I thought CM was supposed to be short lessons, but I feel like it would take hours each day to complete all this in a year.
@lovelessons4192
@lovelessons4192 Год назад
Hello, thank you for your question. Lessons can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 20 minutes depending on the subject, and you don’t do every subject everyday. You alternate between the subjects. It only take about 2 hours a day. Because they are short lessons, you are able to do more subjects, but like I said, you don’t do every subject everyday. I hope this was helpful.

Hello, we used the first two books in the series and we really enjoyed both of them. However, we have switched over to Teaching Textbooks. My oldest will be starting 8th grade, so he’s been using Teaching Textbooks for a while now, because The Charlotte Mason math books don’t go up that far yet, and my youngest was very interested in trying Teaching Textbooks also, like his brother. @lovelessons4192
@lovelessons4192 11 месяцев назад
I apologize for the very, very late reply . Your message somehow slipped by me and I just saw it. You might have had all your questions answered by now, but just in case you haven’t, I’ll answer them. You don’t add to the notebook after each lesson, but most lessons. The guide is very clear, it tells you exactly when and what to add, or if there’s anything else you need to do, like add to your California map. There is a California poem at the end of the guide, that the students use to copy from when they are adding to their notebook. I’m am sorry again, hope this helps.

Thank you, it is. I do only work about 2 or 3 days a week there. I still believe in being home as much as possible, I didn't work while my boys were growing up. Being a wife & mother was my calling from God & I was always glad that I obeyed His voice. I do not ever regret being a stay at he mama, it gave me time to spend with my boys. Now my boys are men. I had 3 boys, my oldest one was 25 when he sadly was killed in a car wreck on his 25th birthday, 2yrs ago. A drunk driver drove on the wrong side of the road hitting my son's car killing him instantly (I'm still trying trying to live again), my middle son will be 24 next week & my youngest is 22. Times flies, you blink & they're grown. Enjoy this time with your children, they truly are a blessing from the Lord.

Thank you so much for making this video, I have been so curious about this one. I wonder what the paper quality of the pages of the book are. This book is very expensive for a clothbound hardcover book, about double what a premiere publisher like Lamplighter would charge for a book of this size. From this video the pages appear to be not much thicker than regular bulk printing paper, which would be very disappointing at that price. I hope someone who has used the book can reply and let me know what they think. Thank you!

@lovelessons4192
@lovelessons4192 2 года назад
Hello, I believe it is possible to get it done with the teacher guide only, but it would be a lot of work for you. My suggestions would be to either write down all the questions for your child on a separate notebook for them to answer, or make copies of the pages from the teacher guide and whiteout all the answers. The student book and teacher guide are exactly them same, except that the teacher’s guide has all the answers. Thank you for your question, I hope this helps! 💕

This looks great! From what you see, do you think a Catholic family could use this?
@lovelessons4192
@lovelessons4192 2 года назад
Hello 👋🏼 I believe a Catholic family can use this curriculum. In the last six years that we have used HOD, only about twice have I came across a note in the teacher guides that said if you are Catholic you might want to skip this next section, so it does give you a warning, and you can pre-read ahead of time and make a decision. This specific guide “Resurrection to Reformation” does teach about the reformation in the history section of it, like the title says … but you can teach your kids about the reformation from a Catholic point of view. During this section of it, you can switch out a book or two and replace them with other books of your choosing that have a Catholic view point of the reformation. It would be very easy to do that. I hope this helps you in your decision. If you have any other questions, please let me know!
