Wow I bet that was so lovely to see! I think that’s really respectful who ever placed them there. It is £2 in an honesty box. I actually put £4. Which I put more as I loved it so much! Thank you for watching my video ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’m so sorry this has happened to you. That was such a roller coaster of emotions. I hope you get another chance to do this and do all the things you wanted to do. Maybe look into another ship like Ponant? Hurtigrutten is a bucket list for me but I think I might look elsewhere. Thank you for sharing this
really interesting and fun watch... loved the out takes not shown here also.... keep up the good work handsome... you deff have it !! and a face and smile that makes me wanna watch... and the humour !! lol
I love you Stephen, you have a heart of gold. I can't help but think of those poor animals. It is very interesting to see it and all of the artifacts they've preserved.
I've watched loads of video's about Antartica but none have the pure emotion that you display.. loved watching your adventures and experiences. Thank You!

Thank you so much for watching Carol! I was so happy while visiting here that mum popped up into my mind! I’d love to walk around here with you one day! Thank you love you Carol xx
@@SMETRAVELADVENTURES Ahh I see. I wonder why not include it? Or why still include 'storm' in the title? It's no big deal, I was just confused hahaha Thank you for the clarification! And great job with the timelapse, looked so nice it makes me want to do one of my own
Nice! 🙂 25:25 I advise not to use autoexposure for such scenes, better adjust it darker fitting for the light coming through the windows. 26:15 you almost got it - this piece of art ("Sphaera" by Balkenhol) does not have anything to do with it, but what Salzburg actually is famous for in Austria are the "Jedermann" ("everyman") plays performed every summer during the Salzburg Festival. "The Sound of Music" on the other hand is not very well known in Austria, only recently people became more aware of it through tourism. Of course this also has to do with decade-long denial of the role Austrians played in the Third Reich. Only in recent decades, there has been a change in reappraising the past.
Wow... you travel all that way...pay a huge amount and there is no guarantee of going on excursions.... silent auctions ..... I've changed my mind ... I will not book this cruise... no way!!!!!!
I really enjoyed your photos. I'm planning a trip to Antarctica for next spring and I'm interested to hear about the lotteries. I wonder if Atlas and Quark do the same?? I have a Hurtigruten cruise round trip from Bergen to Svalbard booked solo for later this summer. I thought it would be good to try them as a local cruise line first. I totally agree that camping is one of my most desired activities, followed by the kayaking, photography and hikes. Thanks for documenting your beautiful adventure.
thank you i am glad to know that there is a lottery system for some things as i too am a solo traveler and would have been upset to get all the way there only to find out i couldnt do some things
I’ve just sat and watched all your Antarctica expedition clips and what a rollercoaster of emotions, highs and of course a few lows too. As a solo traveler, did you find the other passengers to be friendly? Would love to do this one day, I just wonder how nerve wracking it is do as a solo female.
I found the passengers to not be very friendly but they chatted when I sat with them. I found (personal opinion, the people on this ship thought it was a cruise are looked down at people, it was an exploration ship, once they grasped that it was fine. I still pm some of the people off the ship. I look back now and want to go again. Knowing what I do now. I expected the world, and it was not that. I got too over excited and imagined everything but it couldn’t happen. I would deffo deffo go back and do it again! Xxxx As for being solo travelling, you are on a ship and it’s very safe. The staff (restaurant etc) are so amazing. You would be fine solo. I promise you that when you are on the ship xxxx
Hi Stephen!! Watching all your videos and loving them. I am planning a trip for next January-February- and I have a question- why is there a lottery system, when there are only over a 110 some people?? I thought lottery system is only for big ships with more people. Also, did you get to do all the things you wanted to do or did you miss out on important things that you would have wanted to do?? We as a family are planning with Huertigruten.
@@shetalparikh3875 Hi! Thk u for watching my videos. I was as honest as I could be. Any ship with up to 500 can do activities. The trip I went on was not full. There are HIKING, CAMPING, KAYAKING, PHOTOGRAPHY activities available. All are dependant on the weather. So the camping. There were certain amount of places available. Let’s say 30. They lottery 24 and the last 6 places were then auctioned and the last 6 places were from highest bidders and the company say they give that to charity!!!!! Yes charity is great but I paid to go there and then to have to give to charity was not what I signed up for. I would not be surprised if they kept it. I guess and I am NOT confirming that. However the camping didn’t happen because of what they stated was TOO BAD WEATHER. The day we were ment to go visit Port Lockroy, a tiny small island with a post office. They stated it was bad weather and we could not get off. We were less than 500 metres from it and sat there for hours and hours while the Staff whom live and work there for 6 months, came aboard for a well earned shower and cooked food. On Port Lockroy you can post post cards at $1 per stamp. The ship said as we could not get off they would sell stamps They charged everyone $3 per stamp! I’d suggest buying post cards off Amazon and getting a ships stamp from Antarctica on each one and posting while there. I found the Activity staff (some not all) to be completely rude, and have more attitude than a teenager. Others were amazing. The photographer was the worst, his attitude was appalling and the way he spoke to me was not great I guess the staff all hated me because of how they screwed up on my kayak day and I put a complaint in. So they hated me. Overall I’d do the trip again I would, but I know what to expect now The adventure was amazing but please know, nothing is a guarantee. The activities are all weather dependent. Please expect attitude from the adventure expedition teams but the restaurant and hospitality teams are amazing! Xx
High on my bucket list was a trip to Antartica and I was looking at going with Hurtigruten. But if you can't get of the ship due to everything being a lottery I'll have to reconsider. Thank you for highlighting that
Thank you for watching. I am sorry music was a bit loud. I struggle with my hearing so when I edit, I think I might put it too loud. Sorry. Thank you for feedback for future xxx
Sorry you don’t like. I unfortunately can’t afford copyright music, so only what is avail. When I can save up, I’ll buy some better music. Sorry it offended or annoyed you.
DUDE! You are so precious and you broke my heart! So damned hurt for you!! Thank you for sharing this once in a lifetime experience with us!! Stay the course and stay awesome buddy! LOVE YOU BYE!
