Okay, the second I heard Language, I knew exactly what Porter was communicating. Worlds was 100% Porter, and I don't think he abandoned any persona. This was exactly what I expected. Language and Easy had a LOT of soul-stirring melodies, and if anything they paved the way for Worlds.
Funny enough the ending of nurture is about his fans 44:48, and the next new album, as of 2024 "SMILE", is about his fans in "Cheerleader" and "Knock your self out XD" and maybe the part of the theme of this album. XD
Nurture has made me cry several times. My wife started listening to Porter & I haven't heard any of his work since Worlds and I'm so thrilled he's still making music. This album touched me in so many different ways. Amazing video by the way.
amazing. Incredibly well told. Understanding the WHY of his music, his lyrics, his life situation, just makes me feel so much more connected to the songs and him. I have always loved his music since Shelter came out. Without words or knowing anything about Porter, I could understand him as a person. Through the feeling that the music gave and the partial lyrics that he would put in. Thank you for this video. 💜 I can't believe I cried twice😅
Wow, this video was put together so well I thought you were used to making them, only after reading the message at the end of the video and your comment I realized it worked so well because you were so passionate about it rather than just being experienced in making it. I hope someday you'll love something so much that we'll see another video as heartfelt as this one was, in the meantime though thank you so much for this one Mr. Bridger/Creme.
this entire video feels like a movie or a rollercoaster, I don't know how to describe it, but when you explained some of the songs I literally had full body chills lasting for minutes (especially sad machine) goddamn!
its somewhat ironic that you aren't as big as i thought you would be this was a really good video, you have a lot of potential. But just like the topic of the video and the comment you said it's better to take your time to make something and not rush the process.
Dude i love how it all came full circle, the fight or flight segment in the beginning felt out of place but the callback in the end gave me litteral chills fsr
This is a REALLY GOOD Video! Really summarized well why I love Porter Robinson. Really criminally underrated as well. Why was Shelter and Dullscythe skipped though?
I only got into Porter recently at the release of Nurture and getting to see that firsthand live and thn go back through his discography was such a treat. His music is so honest and open, it was like him letting us into his room as a child. I'll never forget it he was basically floating on stage, it's so dope getting to share a world with people like that it gives me so much hope
Watching this after listening to Porter's new song Cheerleader. It wasn't until I watched this video that I realized that I've been listening to his musical journey since the spitfire days also. I wish I was able to put my thoughts on his music (or even think as deeply about it) as eloquently as this video. It's truly inspiring to me to see where Porter came from and where he is now. You should be proud of the work you put into making this video because it allowed me to see a side of a musician that I never saw before. This is also art even if you might think this is just summarizing the life of another person.
