If anyone should know this it probably is you. I saw Rick at shooter 1721 shoot a 22 caliber FX impact and it penetrated 3/4 in of pine wood at 400 yds. I'm going to purchase a FX impact Mark 3 with a 600 mm Barrel slug power kit and FTX Barrel. The question I have is will this 30 cal be as accurate and also be able to penetrate 3/4 inches of wood at 300 to 400 yaetd or is the 30 cal slug going to be too heavy and lose energy at that distance?
@@surreallife777 so a 30 slug will have a ton of energy at distance it's just gonna drop quicker than a 22 slug. You're gonna wanna get the 700mm barrel for slugs tho. 600mm is not gonna push slugs fast enough to be accurate.
@@forgodandcountryoutdoors Ok thanks for getting back to me. Disregarding the FX hybrid slugs have you settled on any specific brand of slugs you prefer? I don’t want to slug that’s too soft like the FX hybrid. Something that’s on the harder side, but also has expansion to it.
@@forgodandcountryoutdoors Since the gun I’m purchasing comes with a 600 mm barrel I’m gonna have to use that for a while so in that case since I don’t have a 700 mm barrel I guess I would have to use lighter slugs? Would that help compensate not having a 700 mm barrel?
@@surreallife777 there's several good slug options. Nielsen slugs are definitely the hardest and I don't recommend them unless you're gonna be shooting primarily coyotes or just targets. Good soft slugs for small game id recommend H&N, varmint knocker, and zan. The 600mm should be alright. I know the varmint knocker 50gr are accurate around 925

@forgodandcountryoutdoors so as far as I understand the FX comes with three barrels. The standard Barrel liner and then you have the smooth twist which is for pellets and slugs and you have the slug barrel exclusively? Would you go for the smooth twist or the slug barrel?
@@surreallife777 so, the barrel it comes from the factory with is the pellet liner. Both the pellet and slugs liners are smooth twist. And honestly the only reason to get a slug liner is if you wanna hunt/shoot well past 200yds
@forgodandcountryoutdoors Ok thanks. I don't know about the 25 Calibre but if you're shooting 30 caliber with heavy pellets you can shoot up to 200 yards with the standard barrel but will get less energy than a slug at the Target. With a 25 caliber you should be fine at 100 yards but if you want to go over that you need to go 200 to 300 yards get a slug liner. Do you agree?
@@surreallife777 What I have found. My 25cal pellet shooters are pretty accurate out to around 180 ish. But no pellet rig is gonna be capable of consistency beyond 200 for any scenario. So beyond 200 slugs no question!

First time ever same gun, let alone brand, same shooter won all 3 in same year. I don't understand your argument. It is not AEA, it is KARMA, AEA is just the OEM. you probably don't understand how car parts work either.
To me, the Swedish garbage is the overpriced one. Always breaking down, cracked valve seats, needs custom parts to behave properly, 100 barrel options. This gun is out of box performer. Two barrel option, slug or pellet, no custom parts necessary. I'd definitely buy this bombproof performer before any FX

You are very young and think you know everything, I'm going to tell you the truth here, if this $2350 rifle doesn't shoot well with slugs it's worthless, having to buy a separate barrel for slugs is a mess.
The concept of swapping barrels and tune to be able to switch between pellets and slugs is a waste of time and money. You can get this with a pellet barrel or slug barrel. You get whichever one you want to use it for

So, why does the, "greatest airgun created" have to also be the 'ugliest airgun created'? A person has to actually like the way a rifle looks to truly enjoy it.

Imagine being tied to the .177 caliber by your rulers, AND pay this kind of money. It is pretty silly / i feel pretty silly buying high powered PCP rifles and in .177, but at least i am not the one voting for those idiots.
Kill a bear? Worth $2350? Worth that and more son. It was made to win benchrest competitions and that's what it does, better than any other gun in competition today. Won all three comps in 2023, no other company can say that! And benchrest is only allowed to use pellets if I remember correctly.
You can if your fill gauge goes to 300 bar, just don't leave it sitting above 250. Only fill to 300 if you're planning on shooting it down within a couple hours.
@@forgodandcountryoutdoors i was thinking about getting the impact standard in .30 cal . However I wanted to shoot 40grain and up slugs. This may be the answer for me. I saw your shooting at 100 yards on pellets and that is quite impressive.
