I don't care about the playoffs much, just want Kyle Busch to get a win. Everything else is whatever for me personally. Chastain winning was awesome too.
Not hard to understand. It's money. They don't discuss amounts but listen to them talk on interviews and podcast. Sponsors ads and merch as well as nascar money makes it important to get in.
I would swap Elliott and Logano. Chase is coming off of a 2nd at Bristol and a 9th at Kansas after starting dead last. Probably could have had a top 5 day if that wouldn’t have happened. Momentum is on his side
I feel like Larry Mac is ignoring the fact that Nascar wanted a "Substantial" amount of teams to sign otherwise their is no charters next year, so was definitely planned like this.
Man I cannot imagine living in the 50’s going at almost 180 miles per hour on a racetrack with no car safety or body safety features. THIS DUDES WERE CRAZY INSANE!🤯😯
its like going up to a man and saying....... YOU GOT YOU MARRY YOUR WOMAN BUT YOU ARE NOT THE BIGGEST D THATS CREST HER... YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY DISAPOINTING HER. HOW DO YOU FEEL? ... he says " i am absolutely exited to marry her she is the girl of my dreams and we are both very excited to be together and will love each other for the rest of our days." then after they say.... AGAIN HE IS SMALLER THAN SHE HAS HAD BUT STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Because it’s a PLAYOFF race… There giving him credit for kicking butt of the PLAYOFF drivers who have been running upfront unlike the 1car this year… I see nothing wrong
NASCAR is nothing but forced drama for the past last decade plus. The sport is not a 36 race odyssey like it was 20 plus years ago, it is about pandering to a casual audience who does not care about NASCAR. Change the system back to the Winston format.
Lap 1, Daytona 500: "X takes the lead of the race and the pole position in The Chase!" All race, every race, hate it! Also, I've been suspicious of the high percentage of playoff racer winning most of the races once the playoffs start. Remember when races were about racing and winning? Pepperidge Farrms Remembers!
NASCAR is now just a gimmicky joke. It’s why the audience is declining rapidly, yet they keep ramping up this stupid garbage. It’s pushing all of us away…enough is enough
Every other sport understands that to truly have a playoff season, you must eliminate all non-eligible teams. If they really want a 16 car playoff, there should be only 16 cars on the grid. If you are unwilling to have the final race be only four cars, go back to season points.
WTF? Just how dim are you? I cannot grasp how you think that a non layoff driver winning and the affects on the playoffs isn't the storyline. THAT IS THE STORY NITWIT, anything lse is secondary. It's about the championship and millions of dollars but don't mention it because, well it offends millionaire drivers. You don't have anything to post and this is your best effort?
Keep the stages and stage points, but get rid of the cautions that come with it. Stage points at least allow someone who’s been running top 5 or 10 all race to get decent points if they get knocked out late by something beyond their control.
I think playoff drivers should be relegated to their normal points after getting eliminated. That way they are still racing for points position up to 5th.
Too often these sports people ask questions that elicit emotions rather than just being congratulatory or express support for something bad that happened
Name another 'Sport' where teams continue to participate in the 'Playoffs' after not even making the 'Playoffs' or having been eliminated from the 'Playoffs'. What needs to stop is the NASCAR 'Playoffs' system.
I don't think the establishment likes Chastain. Probably because he's awesome and the media actually hates NACAR because they can't control it. Like they can the grab-ass leagues.
Marty Snider. Asks all the stupid questions. He also mentions getting the engines started, or the engines cranked while sending the camera trackside to anounce that the drivers should start their engines. Jamie Little and Rick Allen do this as well. Annoying!
NBC desperately trying to astroturf “the playoffs”. Condense to more double race weekends, get rid of the playoffs entirely and end the season before NFL season. Ratings will be better
Attendance, views, and sales are down. There's a reason (multiple) for this. Get rid of the gimmicks and the forced equality (equity). No more staged racing, no more playoffs.
Great criticism. Its part of why the Chase is a joke. Racing doesn't need a playoff system for the season. Winning any race is huge. The championship was always just to honor whoever had the best year on the track. If they want to run a tournament, then they should do some special event. This is another example of how the fake playoff system takes away more than it provides.
Playoffs are pure crap; no reason winning race 30 should matter more than winning race 4. Stupid system, has completely devalued what it means to be a nascar champ
Take Harrison Burtons win. That should of been about The Wood Brothers 100th win and Harrisons first win( possibly only cup win) since it looks like he is going back down to the Xfinity series.
