@@81springbrook96 so that link you gave me is the one that you used? not the Fujicolor c200 brand-name? because i have the MJU II and I'm gonna travel to Hongkong very soon, and i want my photos to look exactly like the ones you have using the Fujicolor 200
@@81springbrook96 because i researched online that Fujifilm 200 is made in USA. it turns out that now Fujifilm is contracting with Kodak to manufacture its film. And the biggest rip off is that it's EXACTLY the same film as "Kodak Gold 200". Fujicolor c200 is different from Fujifilm 200, Fujicolor c200 has familiar green and magenta tones. this "new" Fujifilm 200 has the exact color and tonal values as Kodak Gold 200. that's why i asked you which film did you exactly use because both of them are different.
@@81springbrook96 I have. Painful to mess up a good camera and I do use the "straps". I think I fumbled pulling it out of my pocket too hurriedly for a shot. If you drop the Olympus, be sure to squeeze it back together. Mine separated and I didn't notice it right away.
Great video!! I’d love to see you do a comparison of the Pentax PC35AFM to either the mju or the Nikon! I got one this winter as a nice alternative to the mju. Really happy w how it performed - mainly used it in daylight but haven’t gotten to do much in lower light settings just yet!
I just got one of these! I’m a beginner to photography in general, not just film. What settings (landscape, manual, sports, adep, etc) did you use when shooting this roll? They turned out great!
Perhaps I have a dud version but I feel like the autofocus on mine has been a bit hit and miss. I love everything about the camera - the size, the weight, the aperture, the flash ‘switch’, but there’s just a few too many shots that are out of focus. Particularly when zoomed in. Any thoughts on that?? I’ve been googling so much and can’t find anything
The autofocus on this is way better than my mju Ii. I say 3 of 36 shots might be out of focus. Also depends if you're focusing on smaller things which is super hard to do on these point and shoots
Hi! Can I ask whether you used the spot exposure button on the camera for these? My photos developed for this camera (used Ektar 100) and all are over exposed!
There's not setting for that, it's auto. I've missed focus before but exposure shouldn't be a problem. I suggest you try another roll with another iso film. if it's still the same, then there's probably something wrong with the camera. Let me know how it goes. :)
This is af2 version and films are different too so you’re not comparing lenses using two different films because they have different grain and color saturation. The photos look nice.
@@81springbrook96 from what I know, NP mode makes you shoot with +2 Exposure compensation. Do you have to push all your film +2 while exposing even in daytime?
Oh man I just bought an Olympus mju ii so I was looking for videos about the camera when I found your video. I did my exchange in Hong Kong in the spring of 2019 and lived in Mong Kok for a while, so seeing these views again made me extremely nostalgic. Great stuff!!
nope, since mjuii doesn't have any iso or exposure setting. And pushing it it the lab costs more so I just shot it at box speed. :) thx for watching/asking.
@@81springbrook96 another question about I’m using Portra160 in a point and shoot camera as I want to overexposure my film by 2 stop and I hack the iso to 50. Should I tell my developer I did this if I want overexposed film when developing or should I say nothing just developing it in normal? Thanks.
from where I live, you can still get these less than HKD 1500, which is quite 'budget' in today's standards. Most expensive I would say be HKD 5000+ range, ie Nikon 35 Ti, Yashica T2...
Nice. I recently picked up a Olympus LT Zoom 105, which has a switchable "panorama" mode. It missed the point, a bit, because the widest focal length on the zoom is 38mm - not really wide enough for the right effect. The 24mm lens on your Minolta P seems like the right idea.
Cool first video! Way better than my first attempt. Why am I here? I found myself looking for my old Olympus mju II zoom 170, after watching another video randomly about these great little cameras, I remembered I have 2, the zoom version that I bought 2nd hand off ebay very cheap, when digital cameras came out and an earlier black version without the zoom, which I bought brand new for a fishing holoday in France around 1991, which I can't find at the moment! The zoom model has the original olympus case and after sourcing a battery fired into life with a flashing E symbol, I thought maybe it hadn't survived, the old duracel battery harn't leaked but gone flat with a kodak 36 exp film still inside! Not sure if the film was all or part used I decided yo press the film rewind on the base, it certainly wound back something. Taking it out, the camera now comes on, working fine! My next mission was to find a film locally, trued all the usual places, supermarket, photo shop, even a local boots store ( chemist here in the UK that used to sell and develope film) they all reacted like I'd just come from another planet, film? The best I got was we've not sold that for years lol⚠️😯😁 Maybe I could order some online I thought? But that could take several days if not weeks to arrive! I mentioned it to my wife and after looking all round my local town for some film she then tells me we have 2 films at home, I was sure they were probably already used ones not yet developed but sure enough 2 sealed boots universal 24exp 400 iso films, long out of date.....2005 😯😁 So tomorrow I'm going to make a video, hopefully like yours and take some photos with this great little camera!! I do remember being impressed by the results of my other one, which I must find. I added your channel. 😎👍
Lovely photos! Did you use flash for most of the photos? Especially the first few that are indoors? Trying to figure out all the flash modes right now :) let me know if you have any tips! Thanks!
nope no flash. i try to remember to turn off the flash unless i'm indoors. :) Thanks for commenting! oh, tip is remember to turn off the flash when u know you are in a sunny or well-lit environment, because the flash on this is crazy, it will go off in bright sunshine.
I guess that's the route I will go down as I already have EF lenses and some experience with Canon DSLRs, so I hopefully feel right at home with one of those. Also the small price is cool for something I just wanna dabble into without knowing how much of my time I will end up allocating to it! Thanks for the good video!
Ya, it is definately cheap to dabble into the canon SLR system, even if you buy EOS 3, like i did after I bought this 500n. I'm sure you'll love it if you enjoy your Canon DSLR
hi! i've never played with the GR1s. but the GR is definately a more rugid cameras where as the nc is all plastic. but i would choose the nc just because it can zoom. its great for everyday use! sometimes a fixed 28mm is just too wide
